Chapter Thirty-Seven
Declan
We’re all piled on the couch, recounting the madness of the past few weeks.
Finn’s still in his gear, slumped on the couch with Peanut snuggled up next to him. Chase is lounging beside Millie, his hand resting on her knee. Millie’s nestled against Finn, her back pressed to his chest, her skin still flushed from our earlier romp. She’s laughing, the sound filling the room, making everything feel right.
“So, Coach Nate really lost it, huh?” Millie asks, her eyes sparkling with amusement.
“Oh, you have no idea,” Finn says, shaking his head. “He practically blew a gasket. Told us we needed to lay low and let the fact that we won the match overshadow everything else.”
Millie grins. “And then what?”
I chuckle, remembering the look on Nate’s face. “That’s when I told him you were pregnant. Swear to God, I saw smoke billow out of his ears.”
She laughs, the sound musical and infectious. “I wish I’d seen that.”
“You would’ve loved it,” I say, grinning. “He turned all kinds of colors.”
We all share a laugh, the tension from the past few days melting away. I look around at them, my family and feel a surge of love and gratitude. This is what it’s all about.
Clearing my throat, I look at the others. “Hey, is this a good time?”
Millie turns her head, curious. “A good time for what?”
I smile, pulling out a small velvet box from my pocket. “We got you a present. All of us.”
Her eyes widen as I open the box, revealing a necklace with three delicate pendants, each with a three-carat initial representing the three of us. Her hands fly to her mouth, tears welling up in her eyes.
“Declan, oh my God…this is beautiful.”
Chase shifts closer, his hand covering hers. “We wanted you to have something special. Something to remind you that we’re always with you.”
Finn leans in, his voice soft. “And we wanted to ask you something.”
Millie’s eyes flick between us, tears spilling over. “What is it?”
I take a deep breath, feeling my heart pound. “We want to marry you, Millie. All of us. We know it’s unconventional, but we want to spend the rest of our lives with you. You can pick the ring, the design, whatever you want. This is just the beginning.”
She’s sobbing now, her hands shaking. “How is that even possible?”
Chase laughs, his thumb brushing away her tears. “If we can all get you pregnant, I’m sure we can find a way to marry you.”
She laughs through her tears, nodding. “Yes. Yes, I want that. I want all of you.”
Finn kisses her temple, his voice rough with emotion. “We love you, Millie. So damn much.”
I slide the necklace around her neck, fastening it. She looks at each of us, her eyes shining with love and happiness. “I love you all, too.”
We’re all kissing her, hands roaming, the room filling with the sounds of our love and desire. It’s a blur of sensation and emotion, everything blending together in a perfect symphony.
Later, we’re tangled together, sated and content. I stroke her hair, watching her drift off to sleep, her fingers laced with ours.
Chase’s voice is soft in the darkness. “This is it, isn’t it? Happily ever after.”
I smile, feeling the weight of the moment. “Yeah. This is it.”
Finn chuckles, his hand resting on Millie’s belly. “We did it, guys. We really did it. We won the game and the girl.”
