Chapter Thirty-Three

Hawkeye loved the way Delilah responded to him. He never had to doubt if she liked a touch or if he’d bitten too hard as he nipped and licked his way down her body.

She stiffened slightly when he eased her thighs apart, but before he could ask if she was okay or what was wrong, she relaxed again. He still wanted to know, but this wasn’t the time. He didn’t want to ruin the moment.

He focused on finding all the things that did it for her.

Hawkeye knew better than to think he would find them all in one go, but he would make sure Delilah had no doubts as to why women liked sex as much as men.

He licked and teased every inch of her pussy.

When he’d made her fist her hands in his hair as she cried out her release once already, he eased two fingers into her channel.

He focused on every sound, every movement she made as he curled his fingers upward, looking for that spot, the one that some people thought was a myth, but he knew better.

He knew it existed and wanted to find out what rubbing across it would do to Delilah.

When he found it, he stroked over her G-spot several times then switched to tapping against it as he sucked hard on the tiny bundle of nerves above her opening.

Delilah’s back bowed, and he had to lay one arm across her belly to keep her from jerking away with the movements she couldn’t control.

Her pussy fluttered and contracted around his fingers as a rush of her cream spilled out of her.

Hawkeye licked up every drop, savoring her taste.

He wrung one more orgasm out of her, making sure she was wet and relaxed before he moved up over her.

Hawkeye watched Delilah’s face, hyperaware of any sign that she might not be one hundred percent sure this was what she wanted.

But when her hands skimmed down his arms, then came up to cup his cheeks as she leaned up to kiss him, he couldn’t resist. He gave her the kiss she wanted but the taste of her kiss, combined with the need already making his head spin, left him stripped of his control.

He had enough presence of mind to ease his way into her instead of thrusting deep on the first push, but when he felt the moist heat clamping around him, her inner muscles fluttering and squeezing him, he couldn’t help himself.

He found himself pulling nearly all the way out before thrusting back deep and hard.

Delilah cried out, her back arching and her fingers digging into his arms where she held on to him.

“Hawkeye!”

“Michael.” He pulled out and thrust deep once more. She cried out wordlessly and he needed to hear it. He needed to hear her say the name that no one had called him in years. “You call me Michael.”

“Michael!” Her voice was husky as she opened her eyes. “I don’t know what you’re doing to me, but don’t stop.”

Emotion welled in his chest at hearing her call him by his given name. But this wasn’t the time to examine it.

Fire started at the base of his spine. He knew he wouldn’t last much longer.

He wanted to make sure his little dove came one more time before it was done so he worked one hand between them, then used his thumb to manipulate her clit until she screamed out his name, her blunt fingernails scraping down his arms. Only then did he push harder, taking what he needed for the fire to race up his spine.

He kept pumping as he emptied himself into her, painting her with his seed and maybe, he hoped, impregnating her.

He wanted her to have everything she wanted, and even though he’d never given much thought to kids, he liked the idea of having a tiny version of her running around.

Spent, he let himself collapse to one side of Delilah, tugging her against him as he tried to learn how to breathe normally again.

“I don’t know what to say.” Delilah was the first to break the silence.

“That was spectacular,” he said when he was able to form sentences again. “I mean I’ve never had truly bad sex, but that was out of this world. If I’d known things could be this amazing between us, I’m not sure I would have been able to put you off, even as long as I did.”

“What do you mean?” Delilah rolled toward him, tucking one hand under her cheek as she watched him.

Hawkeye watched her for a moment, trying to find a way to say this without hurting her or making her feel bad.

“Any man worth anything makes sure that his partner has at least as good a time as he does. Anyone who doesn’t is either a boy, or a piece of shit.”

She opened her mouth, but he placed a finger across her lips.

“I’m not done yet.” He bit his lip a moment then continued.

“I’m guilty of not making sure my partner got off, but not in a long time.

Not since I was about seventeen and learned how much better things feel when she’s as into things as I am.

I know you never had that.” He moved close and placed a chaste kiss against her forehead.

“But what we have? The way you made me feel? That’s not something I’ve ever had before.

It’s not something I’ll ever let go of, not that it’s an option now.

” He moved one hand to rest low on her belly.

“I know it’s way too soon to know. But with even the possibility, I want you to know I’ll protect you with everything I have.

Until my last breath and beyond I will do everything I can to take care of you and the baby you could be carrying even now. ”

Delilah blinked several times as if she had to let his words process.

“I don’t know what to say to that.”

“You don’t have to say anything. Just come over here and rest.” He tugged her closer until she curled into his chest. He wrapped his arms around her and listened as her breathing evened out and she fell asleep.

He needed to check in with Domino to check on the progress of wiping out Jericho.

But he wasn’t ready to get up yet. He wanted to be sure she was well asleep before he moved.

“How did you steal my heart so fast?” he whispered, knowing she wouldn’t answer.

Twenty minutes later, Hawkeye kissed the top of her head, then eased away from her and got up.

He dressed, wrote a quick note and left it beside the bed then took his laptop and slipped out of the room as quietly as he could.

He glanced around the main room, computer in hand, and decided it wasn’t a good place to work.

Too many people milling about. They’d come talk to him, ask questions and generally pester him.

He needed to focus. He ducked his head into Raven’s office.

“Mind if I use church to get some things done?” He lifted the laptop.

“Problem with your room?” Raven asked with a scowl.

Hawkeye shook his head. “Delilah’s asleep and I don’t want to disturb her. She’s not used to the click of my keyboard at all hours.”

Raven nodded slowly, as if he understood. “Go ahead. We’ll look at finding a space you can get things done when you’re not able to sleep, at least until we can get your house done.”

Hawkeye nodded but didn’t reply as he continued down the hallway to Church. He set up his laptop on the big solid wood table, logged on and got busy.
