Chapter 3
CHAPTER THREE
LUKAS
“Where did she go?” I asked in a slight panic when we pulled up at Caden’s house to find the Corvette missing. We’d left not long after her, so she should’ve been here.
Jensen frowned as he switched his Lamborghini off, following me as I climbed out to walk towards Caden and Tyler, who’d parked by the garage in Caden’s Challenger.
“I need to put a fucking tracker on her,” Caden muttered as he walked towards the front door to let us in, Josie meeting us with a big smile.
“I was wondering where you guys were. Where’s Rory?”
Josie was low-key freaking out about upsetting Rory yesterday, so I wasn’t surprised that she wanted to see her.
“She should be home soon. We were just with her,” Tyler answered, and Jensen gave her a knowing look.
“She’s fine. You embarrassed her more than anything.”
“I didn’t mean to. I just want you all to be safe. It’s not like I can stop you, you’re all adults,” she sighed, running her palms down her blouse as if to wipe away the nerves.
“She knows. Pretty sure Skeet doesn’t intend on knocking her up, so maybe skip the birds and the bees talk next time,” I joked, making her huff out a breath.
“It’s the unintentional knocking her up that I’m worried about. I meant what I said, okay? All of you get tested, and if you can discuss more reliable contraception with her, that would be great.”
“Working on it,” Jensen replied, flicking his gaze to me.
We’d talked about it last night when he’d picked me up from my place. I’d felt bad for dragging him away from Rory, but I hadn’t wanted to call her over. Jensen handled Mom like she was an annoying toddler that just needed a nap, but Rory would’ve made it worse and likely stabbed her.
We’d spent the night curled up together, talking about Rory and where to go from here.
Navigating this was going to be hard, but I really wanted to see if we could convince Rory to be with us.
Contraception was a smart conversation to have with her, we just had to find the right time to talk about it.
Josie nodded, checking her watch and cringing. “I have a meeting. If Rory gets home soon, tell her I want to talk to her tonight.”
“We can do that,” Caden replied, giving her a kiss on the cheek. “She’s honestly not that mad, Mom. She’s just not used to someone giving a shit. Tone it back with Skeet though.”
She grimaced but nodded again, heading up to her office to work, and we all walked into the kitchen to wait to see if Rory would show up.
The Corvette sounded outside five minutes later, relief filling me instantly. She’d probably just needed a minute to calm down before coming home.
The front door opened and closed, and she seemed to be expecting us when she walked in, surprising me when she sat on my lap and snuggled into me.
“Where’d you go?” I murmured, wrapping my arms around her to keep her there.
“Just needed to drive,” she replied, glancing around the table at the guys. “I’m sorry I didn’t say anything about Hunter, but I really didn’t think it was a problem. He’s only doing it to piss off Skeet. I wasn’t going to add fuel to the fire.”
The thought of her getting between the Devils and Psychos freaked me the fuck out. Regardless of Hunter’s intention to just piss off Skeeter, that didn’t mean it wouldn’t escalate into something much bigger.
If he’d set his sights on Rory, we needed to find a way to make him lose interest, and fast.
I nuzzled into her neck, closing my eyes as I tried to block out the thoughts of what could be coming. This wasn’t just a disagreement among crews, this could turn into a war, and it seemed that Rory was the prize for both sides.
Jensen was watching her suspiciously, making me think that something else was going on, but asking him in front of her would only make her flip out and storm off. I’d talk to him later.
Caden brought up Josie, and Rory seemed to agree about talking to her later, and when she climbed off my lap to sit closer to him, I got up and grabbed a can of soda from the fridge.
Jensen followed me, glancing back at Rory with a sigh. “I’m worried about her.”
“Why the fuck didn’t you tell me last night about the Devils approaching her?” I asked flatly, cracking open the can and taking a large mouthful.
“And add more stress to your plate? No.”
“Jesus Christ, dude. I’m not going to jump off a fucking bridge.”
“You might,” he growled quietly, my eyes meeting his.
“I didn’t think you’d cut yourself badly again either, but you did.
You literally told me you called Rory that day to stop you from jumping out the damn window.
I’m sorry if you think I’m hiding things from you, but Rory has enough of us to worry about her, so you can focus on yourself. ”
I grimaced, the shame hitting me instantly. “It was just a bad day. I was being dramatic.”
“Don’t downplay your mental health. Pretending you’re fine will only make you snap later,” he said firmly, taking my hand and giving it a squeeze. “She’d want you to focus on yourself too.”
“I wanted to call her.”
“I know.”
“I couldn’t let her see me like that again.”
“She won’t judge you, you know that,” he said carefully, and I glanced over at her to see her giggling as Tyler stood behind her chair, kissing her neck and whispering something to her.
“I’m not worried about being judged. She just doesn’t need to see it, and she’d only start swinging at Mom and get arrested,” I answered quietly, taking a step back when I realized he was still holding my hand.
“Let her carry some of the weight, Luke. She’s stronger than she looks,” he murmured, taking no offense to the distance as he leaned against the counter beside me to watch her too.
“Why do I get the feeling she’s keeping secrets?” I asked under my breath.
“She is.”
“What makes you say that?”
“Because we haven’t proven ourselves enough for her to be honest,” he said simply, and he was right. If we wanted her to come to us, we had to keep showing her she could.
Tyler
“They’ll come looking,” Rory said dryly as I practically dragged her up to my bedroom, locking the door behind us.
“I’ll be fast.”
“You act sex deprived,” she scoffed as I pressed her back against the door, sliding my hand down the front of her pants.
“I am. I went from fucking multiple times a day to this. Not that I’m complaining, I only want to fuck you,” I said quickly, not wanting her to think I was mad about it. Surprisingly, I wasn’t.
I’d never wanted to be tied to one girl, but the thought of being with anyone other than Rory made my skin crawl.
She went to say something but a groan came out instead as I slid my fingers through the wetness between her legs, pushing a finger inside and leaning down to bite her neck playfully.
“I won’t lie, you won’t be coming on my cock today. It’s going to be fast once I’m inside you,” I murmured, adding a second finger and loving how she rolled her hips to push my palm against her clit.
One of her hands slid to the back of my neck while the other gripped my bicep, and I kissed her to swallow the soft sounds leaving her, not wanting to share them with anyone else.
In this moment, she was just mine.
I grabbed the back of her thigh and lifted her leg, wanting to get deeper as she rode my hand and whispered curses against my lips when she came quietly. The sweet way she said my name had me almost falling apart myself.
I was a goner for this girl, she was better than any drug I could take. The world around us melted away when I was with her.
“Pants off,” I murmured, and she did as I asked before hooking her leg over my hip and dragging my mouth back to hers.
Blindly, I reached between us to pull my dick free from my pants and slid it across her soaked pussy, pushing inside her with ease from how wet she was.
Her nails dug into the back of my neck as I lifted her, knowing I had to take this to the bed to stop her from smacking her head on the damn wall.
Her back met the mattress and I grabbed both her legs, keeping them together as I put them over one of my shoulders.
“Fuck, Ty,” she gasped as I sank deeper inside her, her hands fisting the blankets.
“I’m going to fill you with so much cum,” I groaned, pulling back before slamming inside again, reaching up to grab a pillow to toss at her. “Scream into that if you need to.”
She thankfully took me seriously because the second I started railing her, curses and moans left her that definitely would’ve been heard from Josie’s office if the pillow hadn’t muffled them.
I needed to come so bad, and I snatched the pillow away as I dropped her legs to either side of me, leaning down to kiss her. A shudder rolled through me as I came, my thrusts slowing as her fingers raked through my hair and her legs wrapped around my waist to keep me close.
All the stress and tension that had been plaguing me vanished, my limbs turning to jelly as I collapsed on top of her.
“You going to get off me?” she teased after I made no sign of moving.
“Just give me a second,” I mumbled, burying my face in her neck and savoring the feeling of her beneath me.
My body sagged even more when she ran a hand up the back of my shirt and gently raked her nails across my skin.
“Want to talk about it?” she offered carefully, knowing something was bothering me.
I couldn’t put it into words. It was just a dark pit inside me that I had to fill with sex and drugs to let a little light in occasionally.
The shit with my parents was playing on my mind, and the urge to set things on fire was strong. That all went away when I was with her though.
The fact that she knew something was wrong spoke volumes.
“No,” I mumbled, rolling off her with the intention of getting up, but she snuggled into me, her voice quiet.
“That’s fine. You can talk to me whenever you want. Text me and I’ll come to you,” she said with ease, her mouth pressing against my throat. “Or I can just come and get fucked up with you. No talking required.”
“You can talk to me too, you know?”
“I know.”
