Chapter 13

Chapter Thirteen

Gray

Am I alive? That was my first thought when the orgasm to end all orgasms finally loosened its grip on my body and let me try and gain some control back.

One minute I was in the throes of it, and the next I didn’t know how to open my eyes anymore and breathing felt like a chore. I was damp from a mixture of tears and sweat and between my legs, my own release. The word “fountain” wouldn’t have been an inaccurate description.

“Gray?” Mal said and I levered my eyelids open and looked down at her from her perch between my legs.

“I. Hate. You.” I could barely get the words out. Too much work to speak.

She smiled as big as if she’d just won the lottery.

“No you don’t. I’m the person who just got you off.” She kissed the inside of my knee and then crawled up to lay beside me.

I needed to get my shit together and do the same (like I had any hope of something like that) for her.

Smugness radiated from her like sunshine. It was hot as hell, but annoying too.

“That was…” I didn’t have the words.

“It was,” she said, reaching out and stroking my cheek where my skin was a little crusty from dried tears. She’d really made a mess of me, but I felt incredible. Glowy and cleansed and heavy and light at the same time.

“Thank you.” I couldn’t help myself from saying that to her, apparently.

“You’re very welcome, Gray.” She tilted my head and kissed me softly. “Do you need a break?”

Honestly? Yes.

“Can you hold me for a little bit?”

“Of course, sweetheart.” She opened her arms and I scooted over, kicking the now-wet pillow away.

“I think I ruined your pillow,” I grumbled as she pulled me into her arms, and I rested my head on her chest.

“It’s washable.”

Mal’s fingers went to my hair and I knew if I wasn’t careful, I was going to pass out. That would be way too embarrassing.

“I love watching you,” she said, her lips in my sweaty hair.

“I love the way you give me what I need. Even if I hate you for it a little bit.”

She laughed softly. “I’m happy to give you what you need, Gray. It’s good for me too. I almost came when you did. I think if I would have had a hand free, I might have.”

“Just give me another minute,” I mumbled and managed to swallow a yawn.

“Take your time.”

She’d set the bar high and now I was a little stressed about returning the favor. I knew sex wasn’t transactional, but that didn’t stop my mind from telling me that I should be reciprocating.

It was nice, though, being sweaty and sated and held by her as she stroked my hair.

I really could have fallen asleep right there.

To stop that from happening, I turned my face and kissed her neck, making her let out a little moan.

“Mmmm.” I continued, taking my time. There was no hurry and since she’d taken her time with me, it was only fair that I got to do the same.

Her hair was braided, and I couldn’t stop myself from wrapping it around my arm and pulling, just until she gasped.

“You demon,” she said, but she was laughing.

“You’re the one who showed up at my door begging,” I said, grinning up at her.

She let out a scoff. “Excuse me?”

“That’s literally what happened, Mal.”

Her frown was so adorable that I ducked my head into her chest. We’d gotten off track, but who cared?

“I can’t help it,” she sighed, running her hand through my hair again. “You’re just irresistible.”

I felt myself blushing and tried to hide it by sticking one of her nipples into my mouth. There. That got her attention.

The hand she had in my hair clenched, digging into my scalp. She couldn’t seem to stop herself from pressing against me, pushing me in the right direction. That was fine with me.

I released her and looked up. “Use me, Mal. Show me where you want me.”

“Fuck, that’s hot. Yes.”

And that was what she did. I just gave her what she asked for as she steered me and gave me instructions and it was bliss. I loved every second of it. When she begged for fingers, I gave them to her. When she begged for my mouth on her, I gave it to her.

When she wanted to come, I made it happen, moaning as she shuddered and cried out under and around me.

I still hadn’t gotten to use her toys on her, but that was fun for later.

“Did I pull any of your hair out?” She panted, gazing down at me with concern.

“Nope,” I told her, kissing her belly.

“Good.” Her touch turned into another stroke as she looked at me and it was like everything in my chest got a few degrees warmer.

“That was excellent. Thank you for trusting me, Gray.”

“You’re so welcome.”

It was time for a break, which meant eating cookies while naked and laughing about nonsense and licking crumbs off each other. That led to Mal getting out her vibrators and both of us having a good time playing with them and seeing which ones we liked the best.

Once we’d truly exhausted ourselves, we stumbled to her shower and I realized it was time for me to leave again.

I didn’t want to. I really didn’t want to.

“I have a question about liaisons for you,” Mal said while she scrubbed my scalp with her fancy shampoo that smelled like it was expensive.

“What’s that? You’re acting like I’m an expert, but this is my first one.”

She tilted my head back and used one hand to make sure none of the soap went into my eyes as she helped me rinse out the suds before working conditioner through my strands. I had to work to keep myself from moaning about how amazing it felt.

“Well, I was wondering if they involve sleeping over. Or bed sharing, I guess.” Oh. I opened my eyes and turned around so I could see her.

I bit my lip to hide my delighted smile. She wasn’t ready to say goodnight to me yet either.

“Yes, that’s definitely part of the liaison. If both parties agree.”

She raised one of her eyebrows. “And do both parties agree?”

I nodded. “Yes.”

That made her smile and she pulled me into her arms, lifting me off my feet and making me squeal.

“Perfect,” she breathed in my ear before setting me down and kissing me again.

Together we made the choice to sleep in my bed since it wasn’t drenched in sex and because Dandy would have been lonely if I hadn’t returned.

Mal grabbed whatever she’d need and threw it into a bag. If she forgot anything, she didn’t have to go far to get it.

Dandy was grumpy when I walked through the door after being so cruel as to abandon her so I could have hot sex with my neighbor.

“My god, you’re such a drama queen,” I told her with affection as I made sure her food bowl wasn’t empty and checked her water.

Mal sighed and flopped down on my couch.

“You ready for bed?” I asked her.

She tilted her face and nodded at me, her hand covering a yawn. It was so, so late and I should have been more tired, but I was still buzzing a little from the fucking.

“Come on, baby,” I said, surprising myself with that word, but it came out easily. Too easily.

Mal smiled at me and held out her hands. I pulled her to her feet and then towed her toward the bedroom.

She’d already brushed her teeth, so I sat her on the bed and went to the bathroom to brush mine.

When I came back, I found her sprawled on the bed with Dandy on her chest.

“Be careful she doesn’t try to make biscuits with your boobs. It doesn’t feel nice.”

“Noted,” Mal said.

I stripped out of my clothes and put my pajamas on before getting into bed next to her. She’d just so happened to lay on the side I didn’t really use. Sometimes I would migrate to the middle of the bed, but most nights I was happy with the right side.

Dandy abandoned Mal and then made her home at the end of the bed where she usually slept.

“Wow, I see how it is,” I said, trying not to feel offended. “I think she likes you better than she likes me now.”

Mal turned on her side. “Can you blame her?”

She’d kept her hair in the braid, but she’d redone it to be looser.

“Not really,” I said, also turning on my side so I could see her.

Mal breathed out and scooted closer, entwining her legs with mine.

“Do you snore?” I asked her.

“Only a little bit, I’ve been told. What about you?”

I made my face serious. “Yes, I’m afraid I’ve been compared to a chainsaw. Hope that’s okay.”

Her face fell a little, but she tried to cover.

I grinned. “I’m just screwing with you. I do a little bit as well, but my ex said it was cute.” Shit. I had to stop bringing up Alina.

Mal asked me when we’d broken up, so I guess I’d opened that door.

Even though our voices were weak, and our eyes kept closing, we talked and talked. We couldn’t seem to stop.

It wasn’t until I was opening my eyes and finding someone pressed into my back with an arm draped over my belly that I remembered what had happened.

Due to the late night, it was now late morning and I probably could have slept for another few hours, but I was also starving, and I knew Dandy was going to be begging in a minute.

Slowly turning over I found that Mal was just waking up herself. Her fingers fluttered over my skin.

“Hey,” she said, her voice rough from sleep, sending a bolt of desire right to my pussy. She could say anything to me in that voice and it would be arousing.

“Hey,” I responded with a smile. She beamed back at me and even though we had crusty eyes and morning breath, I had to pull her close and give her a kiss.

“Good morning,” I said when I pulled back.

“Good morning,” she said, kissing me again.

I could have stayed in bed with her all day, but at that moment Dandy chose to waltz into the room, screaming.

“My furry little alarm,” I grumbled fondly. “She’s hungry and so am I.”

Mal twirled some hair around her finger. Wisps had escaped her braid and floated around her face like a halo. She really did look like a sleepy angel.

“I’m hungry too,” she said, and then squeezed my belly a little and dove under the blankets.

“What the fuck, Mal!” I squealed as she started nibling on me with exaggerated noises.

“Stop it!” She pulled the covers back and rested her chin on me.

“I’m a little obsessed with you, Gray,” she said in a soft voice.

“I’m a little obsessed with you too.”

There was no use in denying it. She’d said it first.

She placed a soft kiss on my belly, which chose that moment to let out an embarrassing growling noise that made her laugh.

“Okay, I guess I can’t eat you for breakfast.”

We got up and took turns in the bathroom before heading to the kitchen.

“I can help,” she said, but I pushed her away the same way she had when she’d made the snack plate our first night.

It had been less than two weeks since we’d actually met, but it didn’t feel that way at all.

“I can do eggs and bacon, or pancakes, and I’ve got this little waffle maker that I never use, but I could bust it out. And there’s juice and coffee. We should probably do coffee first.” Yes. Caffeine. I needed that today, for sure.

Even though I’d told her I could handle everything, I did end up needing Mal to work on the coffee and put the bacon into the air fryer while I mixed up pancake batter and threw some frozen hash browns into a pan.

Every time she passed by me, she had to touch me, and it was nice. Really nice. While I babysat the pancakes, she stood beside me and rested her chin on my shoulder, her arms around my waist.

It was so painfully domestic that I had to swallow past a lump in my throat. I hadn’t had this in so long and I had missed it. Fuck. I had missed this part so much.

The touches and the closeness and just having another person in your space that you could talk to. I loved Tally, but it was different waking up with someone like this.

Feeling warm and cozy, I piled all the food on one plate and Mal helped me bring everything to the couch. Dandy came over to investigate, but I quickly distracted her by tossing her catnip banana and she ran to attack it.

Mal and I sat pressed together, watching a silly show that neither of us was paying attention to.

“You make good pancakes,” Mal said after a few bites.

“Thanks.” The compliment made me blush, obviously. I couldn’t seem to help it around her.

Once we finished, we sat there sipping our coffee and snuggling and I couldn’t remember a time when I was this full and comfortable.

“Wanna hang out for a little while and watch a Christmas movie?”

She kissed the side of my head. “Yeah, I do.”
