Delaney : It’s T-minus two weeks until the end of the world. Are you ready?
Miles : You’re so dramatic.
Miles : And anyway, Armageddon is in six weeks and it’s at the Ritz.
Delaney : Lies. I have a phone call with my mother in an hour to discuss the dreaded event. Wish me luck.
Miles : Is your mum part of the wedding?
Delaney : Sort of. She’s Tilda’s godmother.
Miles : Oh, I didn’t know your parents were that close too.
Delaney : Tilda and I have been friends since birth because my mum and Violet (Tilda’s mum) have been best friends since they were kids too.
Miles : So, this is kind of like a family affair?
Delaney : Oh yeah. Hope you’re ready .
Miles : You’re going to have to quiz me again.
Delaney : Okay. Quick fire round. Sister’s name?
Miles : Scarlett, married to Jonah. Their daughter, your niece, is Stella. She’s three and very cute but a bit of a brat apparently. It could be suggested she needs a sibling to even out her temperament.
Delaney : Ah, I see someone was taking notes when I ranted about her.
Miles : I am an excellent student.
Delaney : Parent’s names and occupations.
Miles : You were birthed by Eloise Morrison, married to George. Eloise is a primary school teacher, just like Tilda which is why you think your mum prefers Tilda to you. George is an electrician.
Delaney : My mum DOES prefer Tilda.
Miles : I will give you my judgement regarding that matter in one week, six days, 23 hours, and 45 minutes.
Delaney : You’ll rue the day if you’re not on my side.
Miles : I look forward to finding out how one rues anything.
