The owl-bear hatched with no feathers or fur, making it seem as though it may share more traits with altricial birds.
HOWEVER. It is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT that future scientists know that owl-bear cub-chicks HATCH WITH THEIR EYES OPEN, and PROBABLY OPEN THEIR EYES IN THE EGG SOMEHOW MAYBE?
(Penguin-like nictating membrane??????) Any scientist wishing to observe orphaned or stranded owl-bears without the risk of them imprinting on People should be WEARING AN APPROPRIATE OWL-BEAR SUIT not only in front of the hatching bird but even IN VIEW OF THE EGG! !!!!!!!!!!!

HYPOTHESIS:
It’s possible that an eyelid similar to waterbird nictitating membrane may be employed in the egg to protect cub-chick’s eyes from embryonic fluid while permitting gaze through egg cracks to search for maternal figure
MATERIALS
Monagrim MP14 digital scale with basket attachment (including lid)*
Standard measuring tape
MagiZoopreme Exotic Meat Substitutes
For HEIGHT, V-2 is measured vertically from front right foot to right shoulder blade.
For LENGTH, V-2 is measured at the side, from breastbone to tailbone (thus excluding future tail feathers upon growth)
*Note: due to V-2 VERY ACCIDENTAL!!! imprinting on author, the basket lid was not needed. Upon placing V-2 in the basket, V-2 sat calmly and quietly as long as eye contact with author was maintained.
