Chapter 3 #3
Aano's deep chuckle vibrated through the small space.
"Yahn is a newer friend, but I’m beginning to suspect he has excellent timing.
" His eyes locked with mine again, and there was something there, something coaxing.
"Leah is exploring her sexuality, Yahn. And I’m thinking what better way to do that than with two big males? "
Was this his escape plan? Latch on to a horny heiress and promise her a threesome? Absurd.
Even as my mind rebelled, my body responded to the deep rumble in his voice, to the promise of something kinky and wilder than anything I’d ever done. I shifted my stance, trying to hide the way my cock was responding to the suggestion.
Leah, meanwhile, looked quite pleased with the suggestion.
She squirmed in his lap, her eyes darting between us with undisguised interest. "That's...
quite presumptuous," she managed, though her body language betrayed her excitement, her nipples pebbling as she arched against Aano's thickly muscled chest.
"I've been told I have that problem," Aano replied, unrepentant.
I pushed away from the doorframe, my tail now moving in slow, deliberate patterns that Aano could read like a book. Interest. Arousal. Caution.
"I don't recall asking to be shared," Leah said, though her tone suggested she wasn't actually objecting.
"But you're thinking about it,” I said.
Aano’s fingers dug into her ass, and she squirmed. “And you like the idea.”
Her eyes widened slightly at my directness. Then, a mischievous smile spread across her face. "Perhaps we should continue this conversation somewhere more private than a charity gala?" She turned back to Aano. "My shuttle is in the VIP bay. Much more comfortable and private than this alcove."
Her shuttle. Suddenly Aano's plan became much more clear.
I watched as his hands flexed, gripping her ass, then lifting her up a little.
"Sounds perfect. Wouldn't want to get the gala in trouble for public indecency." He helped her to her feet, and she grabbed her dress, slipping the silky fabric over her feet, and tugging it up, then turning and lifting her hair as Aano helped her zip it up, the action somehow more intimate than if he'd been removing it. His eyes found mine over her shoulder, a silent question in them. But he said nothing — one of Aano’s very few strengths was his ability to roll with whatever shit went down, and this wasn’t the first surprise we’d dealt with today.
Aano stepped up next to me as Leah adjusted her dress, tilting his head towards me as he whispered. "Roll with it. Did you see anyone else?"
"What? So you can propose a fivesome?"
Aano laughed. "What can I say, she said she's in her slut era.
Who am I to argue with that?" He walked over to the privacy partition and slid it open, his eyes scanning the corridor before he led us out into the main dining area.
Leah approached me with unexpected confidence, taking my arm as though we were old friends.
"So where's your date?" she asked, blue eyes sparkling with mischief. "Shouldn't you be entertaining someone else?"
"Oh, she's entertained," I replied dryly. "Face-down in a plate of pasta, snoring loud enough to disturb neighboring star systems."
Leah blinked, then burst into delighted laughter. "You can't be serious!"
"Completely serious. Ruth Blackwell, grandmother extraordinaire and connoisseur of Tholkon Blue Label brandy. Three double shots before she declared her passionate desire to see me strip, then promptly passed out mid-sentence."
Leah's laughter grew, drawing glances from nearby patrons.
She dropped her voice to a conspiratorial whisper.
"I've met her at other events. Last year at the Lunar Benefit Gala, she tried to convince the Chokreini ambassador to read her mind while she thought about her third husband.
" Her impression of an elderly woman was surprisingly good.
"'He had four arms, you know. Very versatile. '"
I couldn't help laughing, genuinely amused despite the tension of our mission. "That's her exact tone!"
"As far as I can tell, it's her favorite conversation starter." Leah leaned against me as we walked, her warmth seeping through my formal jacket. "I’d always thought she was a bit uptight before her late husband passed, but she had a bit of a personality change. Grief, I suppose?”
“Grief makes you horny?”
“No idea,” Leah said, grinning. “But I have a feeling you were lucky to escape with your clothes intact."
"A tragedy," Aano rumbled from behind us, his voice low enough that only we could hear. "I would have much preferred to see Yahn without his clothes intact. Perhaps we'll have to remedy that situation."
I narrowed my eyes at him, as he fell into step on the other side of Leah.
As we made our way through the gala toward the shuttle bays, I kept up the lighthearted banter with Leah, extracting surprisingly useful information between jokes.
Her mothers owned the largest entertainment conglomerate in the Central Planets.
She'd attended school with the Chokreini ambassador's daughter.
She knew most of the wealthy patrons by name and reputation.
And she didn't seem one bit worried about being alone with us, which could only mean one thing: she wasn't very smart.
