Chapter 3

Chapter Three

What first caught Dayne’s attention was a group of guests having what appeared to be an orgy. Right out in the open and in the light of day.

This was one of many reasons they secured the front entrance to the ranch with a gate and a guard. It helped their guests feel more free to do what they wanted, wherever they wanted, without the threat of strangers coming onto the property and causing problems.

To be on the property without a reservation, you needed to make an appointment and have an escort. They didn’t want to deal with haters and blackmailers, paparazzi and lookie-loos.

Before opening the resort, they hired a security consultant to make suggestions on keeping their guests secure. Since he and his siblings didn’t want to put them or their business at risk, it was worth the cost of that pricey consultation.

They also hired a retired State Trooper to be their Security Manager. Cameron Cook supervised all the security staff who sat at the gate, wandered the property, and monitored the cameras twenty-four-seven.

Dayne had just finished having a too long, very boring meeting with his two siblings, Dylan and Danica, along with their Guest Services Manager, Erin, and was now ready to stretch his legs by walking around the ranch and checking in with guests.

It turns out they loved the fact management was hands-on. In more ways than one. But according to the guest surveys, face-to face-interactions were one of the top five reasons for them to return.

If that was all it took, Dayne had no problem doing it. Plus, it also had him interacting with guests he might be interested in playing with during their stay.

Dayne was pretty much into anything, so it wasn’t hard to find a partner or two. Or even four.

During the meeting, he’d been distracted by the short exchange between him and the guest named Cara last night.

He kept checking his texts to see if she asked any resort employees to get a hold of him.

Every staff member had his number, as well as Dylan’s and Erin’s, in case of an issue or question.

They not only wanted to be accessible to their guests, but their employees, too.

As he now strode down the paved lane toward the lake in front of The Mane Lodge, the very sexy blonde woman was still on his mind. Before leaving the office area, he should’ve pulled up the reservation system on his computer to see if she checked out early and went home.

He sure hoped not.

Most of the guests he’d had naked encounters with were experienced, or at least knew the basics, and came to the resort to dig deeper into the lifestyle in a safe place.

Cara came off as completely green .

Normally, someone like that wouldn’t end up on Dayne’s radar. He considered the unsure and inexperienced too much work unless he was in the rare mood for vanilla sex.

Vanilla was okay on occasion, but wasn’t his preferred flavor.

It turned out it wasn’t his twin brother’s either, since Dylan was now in a committed polyamorous relationship. Dayne had been shocked to find out that his straight-laced brother swung both ways and he’d been keeping this doozy of a secret from his own family.

His identical twin was now in love and shacked up with his former high school sweetheart, Erin, and their Facilities Manager, Ford.

Dayne grinned. All these years, he’d wondered how his identical twin’s personality ended up so different from his own. It turned out Dylan and Dayne were more alike than he ever knew.

Dayne beelined toward the small group to check in on them. Make sure everyone was a willing participant. Maybe even watch for a bit. Possibly even join in, if no one was against the idea.

His plan last night at the fantasy party was to find a willing couple or throuple to join. Meeting Cara had derailed his quest. That part bugged him because it shouldn’t have.

After their short encounter, instead of heading into the party or upstairs to Heaven, he regrettably watched her walk away. The whole time he stood there he had to fight the impulse to yell out for her to come back. He also fought the urge to chase after her.

Him being pushy might have spooked her and he didn’t want anything to make her run fast and far away from Double D. Not before he had a chance to spend more time with her .

He remembered talking to her on the phone that day because, first off, he rarely answered the phone at the front desk and second, he’d been so surprised with how nervous she sounded. When he handed the phone over to Milly, one of the front desk staff, he really thought the woman would chicken out.

She hadn’t.

Was it because of something he said during that conversation, or in spite of it?

He didn’t know or really care. The fact was, Cara did book and show up, but apparently, last night proved once again that she was unsure of why she did.

Now he needed to convince her to stay and give everything the resort offered a chance. Maybe even give him a chance.

He had no idea why. The resort was currently full, with plenty of other guests more experienced, more confident in their sexuality and with their kinks, and not looking for anything other than a few orgasms.

Well, look at that. He’d actually described himself. He considered the resort his personal playground and, unlike his older-by-twenty-minutes twin, he was not in a rush to get tied down in any kind of relationship.

His feet stuttered to a stop once he got close enough to see the action, as well as everyone involved.

A large blanket had been thrown down on the grass by the lake.

Beside it sat the basket supplied in every room and cabin, full of lubes, condoms, dental dams, and items like rope, small impact toys, and blindfolds.

Even items like Wartenberg wheels. The basket only included toys capable of being sterilized after the guests left.

Not long after the grand opening, a guest suggested the resort open a little store so they could buy more personal use items, like vibrators, anal plugs and beads, and pocket pussies, in case a guest forgot to bring their own.

Especially since Fisher Falls didn’t have anything like it and most likely never would.

Dayne snorted. A sex toy shop in the center of Fisher Falls would have the residents’ heads spinning even more than the Double D Ranch.

He was surprised at how much business the store did. So much so, they planned on expanding it to include leather-wear, naughty lingerie, and more. If they needed a larger area, they’d add it on to the resort’s spa, Nirvana, where guests could book all kinds of spa treatments during their stay.

The business kept expanding, and along with that growth, their finances were quickly headed into the black after too many months of being deep in the red.

As a Certified Management Accountant—and now the resort’s CFO—that made his number-crunching heart happy.

Soon he might even be able to recoup the funds he had invested.

On top of the equity from the house he sold in North Carolina, he also drained his savings and cashed out some of his long-term investments.

He had taken a leap of faith in his brother’s idea and it seemed to be finally paying off.

As he approached the group, he noticed it wasn’t only the six people involved—who might as well be playing naked Twister with how everyone was contorted—but a small crowd surrounded them.

Some stood, some sat on the ground like they were enjoying a lawn concert, and another couple had pulled their canoe up onto the lake’s shore close by.

None of the half-dozen people paid any attention to the observers since voyeurism at the resort was common, as well as expected, if sex was happening out in the open. If privacy was needed or required, plenty of places existed on the ranch to do it behind closed doors or blinds.

No, this group was obviously getting off on others watching them. Dayne agreed it could be a heady experience.

Dylan preferred that Dayne keep most of his sex life out of the public eye since he was a co-owner. Did he always stick to that? Of course not. His twin was not his keeper.

But again, it wasn’t the guests getting it on out in the open that made him do a double-take, it was the fact that Cara, the woman who literally ran into him last night, was also standing nearby watching.

With her attention glued to the action, she didn’t notice when Dayne stepped behind her. But now his attention was on her instead of the group on the blanket. He observed her reactions as she watched the group busy filling every orifice they had access to.

This morning, her long, blonde hair was pulled back into a simple ponytail—he loved that hairstyle since those and pigtails made great handles—and she was dressed more casually than last night.

She wore hip-hugging jeans, a cream-colored, off-the-shoulder, short-sleeved knit top with a black ribbed tank underneath it. She had worn heels last night, but today her feet were covered in some sort of soled slip-on shoes. More practical for the ranch’s terrain.

Her dressy-casual outfit last night was on the classier side instead of over-the-top like most of the other partygoers. Today, the simpleness in what she wore was still sexy as hell.

Maybe it was simply her and she would look enticing no matter what she wore.

Or even wearing nothing at all.

“Good morning,” he murmured. “Good to see you’re still here. ”

She startled and, with a sharp intake of breath, turned to face him with her cheeks blazing.

He grinned at her expression of being caught red-handed. “Enjoying the show?”

After a quick backward glance at the active group, she returned her attention to him. “I feel guilty watching.”

“Don’t be. If they didn’t want anyone to watch, they had other options.”

Her brow wrinkled. “Is this normal?”
