Chapter 3 – Haley
Ohmygodthisfeelssogood! He feels so good.
Every thick inch of him. And yes, he’s thick.
And long. I think back to what Jasmine asked me earlier today…
if he was big all over. The truth is, I’ve never actually seen his erect penis, but I’ve felt it.
I’ve rubbed it through his clothing before and marveled as it grew.
I rock myself on his erection. When I press myself against his length, something wonderful happens. I feel warm down there. My body is throbbing and aching, and I’m wet. Tingles shoot up my spine.
The rough, agonized groans he’s making give me the confidence to keep going. I must be doing something right because his hands are clamped to my butt, and he’s pulling me closer.
His mouth opens against mine, hot and hungry. “Haley.”
His voice is suddenly lower and rougher than I’ve ever heard before, and the sound lights me up inside. My aching breasts feel heavy. “Philip.”
He grips my hips and thrusts up against me, his erection hitting my clitoris just right, sending zings of pleasure through me. We’ve made out before, but it’s never been anything like this. If our clothes somehow magically disintegrated, he could—
I nearly jump out of my skin when the door opens and a tall, slender African-American girl walks in. She’s holding a bag from the campus bookstore as well as a small carry-out food container.
Immediately, I slide off Philip’s lap to sit beside him. “Hi.” I plaster a smile on my face as I wave lamely at a stranger. “I’m Haley.”
The girl freezes mid-step, her dark eyes widening. “Oh, my God, I’m so sorry. I should have knocked first. I didn’t realize you were here.”
Philip shifts position so he’s sitting on the edge of the bed beside me, his feet on the floor. “Hey. Melissa, right? You must be Haley’s roommate. Nice to meet you. I’m Philip.”
“Yes. It’s nice to meet you, too.” Her gaze goes from him to me. “Both of you.” She gestures to her side of the room. “I hope you don’t mind. You weren’t here, so I picked a side.”
I shoot off the bed and straighten my clothes. “I don’t mind at all. This is my, um, boyfriend. We were just—we were—”
“It’s okay,” Melissa says as she crosses over to her desk and sets her things down. “You don’t need to explain. This is your room, too.”
Melissa opens the door of the mini fridge and grabs a bottle of what looks like green tea. “Do you mind if I eat? I haven’t had anything all day. I’m starving.”
“Of course not!” My heart is still pounding. “Make yourself at home. I mean, it’s your room, too.” I wince. “Sorry. I’ve never shared a room before. This is all new to me.”
Melissa gives me a gentle smile as she pulls out her desk chair. “For me, too. Don’t worry. I’m sure we’ll be pros at this roommate thing in no time.”
Philip stands, does a bit of a shimmy to readjust himself in his jeans, and reaches for his shoes. When he gestures to the door, I nod.
“We were just leaving,” I say as I grab my own shoes. “Enjoy your dinner.”
She waves. “Will do. I guess I’ll see you later, then?”
“Absolutely. I think we’re going for a walk now or something. I won’t be out late.”
“Curfew’s at ten,” she says. “Lights out at eleven.”
Philip opens the door, and I slip out into the hallway, which is just as busy as it was earlier. Students are still moving into their rooms. This will probably go on all weekend.
“Oh, my God,” I whisper as Philip shuts the door. I lean against it and run my hand over my face. “That was embarrassing.”
He frowns. “I’m sorry I put you in that situation. I should have been more careful.”
“It wasn’t your fault! I’m the one who started it.”
After we both put on our shoes, Philip holds his hand out to me. “Let’s walk around campus and find your classrooms. Then we’ll grab some dinner. Sound good?”
I take his hand, loving the warmth and strength of his fingers encasing mine. “That sounds wonderful.”

When I return to my dorm room that evening, Melissa is seated at her desk and typing on her laptop.
School hasn’t even started yet, and already she’s getting a head start.
She’s wearing what I assume are her pajamas—pink and white plaid flannel shorts and a pale pink T-shirt.
Her hair is covered by a pink silk bonnet.
I realize I haven’t checked out the bathroom yet. Showering in a communal bathroom is going to take some getting used to.
I plop down onto my bed. “I’m sorry about earlier. That won’t happen again.”
Melissa turns to face me. “No worries. It’s fine. Your boyfriend is very good looking. And so tall! Does he go here, too?”
“No. He’s already graduated and works for a security company now. So, what’s your major?”
“Biology. I’m pre-med.”
I nod. “Political science and history for me. I’m pre-law.”
She smiles. “Now I know who to contact if I get sued for malpractice.” She chuckles. “My mom’s a pediatrician, and my dad’s an orthopedic surgeon. Both of my older brothers are doctors, too. I guess medicine runs in my family.”
“I can relate. My mom and stepdad are both attorneys.”
“Any siblings?” she asks.
“No, it’s just me.” I go to my closet to grab my pajamas and shower bag. “I guess I’ll check out the showers and get ready for bed. I’m wiped. It’s been a long day.”
Melissa closes her laptop. “I think I’ll do the same.”
I grab my robe, a towel I brought from home, and my shower shoes. “Can you tell me where—”
“The bathroom is? Go left down the hall. It’s on the right. You can’t miss it.”

Fortunately, there are only a couple of girls in the bathroom. I grab the last shower stall, step inside, and close the curtain. This feels so reminiscent of showering at summer camp.
After a quick shower, I put on my robe and step out to the long vanity counter to comb my hair, blow-dry it, and braid it
When I return to my room, I find Melissa sitting up in her bed flipping through one of her textbooks.
“Did you find it okay?” she asks.
“No problem. It wasn’t very crowded.”
“Most of the girls shower in the morning. That’s why I prefer to shower at night. It’s not so busy then.”
I put my stuff away in the closet and hang up my damp towel on the back of my chair to dry.
As soon as I sit on my bed, my phone rings.
“Hi, sweetie,” Mom says when I answer. “I’m just checking to see how you’re settling in. How’s your room?”
“I’m fine, and the room is comfortable. I’ve met my roommate, Melissa.”
“Is it okay if I put the phone on speaker? Dave’s here, and he wants to say hi.”
“Sure, go ahead. Hi, Dave.”
“Hey, kid. So, you’re doing okay?”
“I am.” The truth is, I’m already missing home. I miss my bedroom. I miss not having to share my bathroom with a bunch of strangers. I miss my mom and Dave. But I don’t want them to think I’m unhappy. “I’m excited about classes starting Monday.”
Melissa closes her textbook and climbs into bed.
“Sorry,” I whisper to her. “I won’t be long.”
“No problem,” she whispers back as she turns off the light on her nightstand. “Take your time.”
“Do you have everything you need?” Dave asks. “Books, supplies?”
“I have everything except for my books. Philip’s coming tomorrow for lunch, and after that we’ll stop by the bookstore so I can pick up my textbooks.”
“Perfect,” he says. “I transferred some money into your bank account. It should be there by Monday. Let us know if you need anything else. We’re just a phone call away.”
Dave has got to be the best stepfather a girl could ask for. “Thanks, Dave.”
My mom comes back on the line. “Have fun, honey. Let us know if you need anything. All you have to do is call.”
“I will, Mom. Thanks. You, too, Dave.” My phone chimes with an incoming call. “Mom, Dad’s calling.”
“Okay. We’ll say goodnight then. Talk to Mack. Give him our love.”
“Will do.” I end the call with Mom and accept the call from my dad. “Hi, Dad.”
“Hey, honey,” he says in his deep voice. “How’s it going? Erin’s here, by the way. We’re on speaker phone.”
“Everything’s going well so far. Hi, Erin.”
“Are you having fun yet?” Erin asks. She’s technically my stepmother, but she’s only five years older than I am, so she’s more like a big sister.
I chuckle. “Yep. Loads of fun.”
“We just wanted to make sure everything was going okay,” Dad says. “I transferred some money to your bank account. You should have it soon.”
“Thank you, Dad. Hey, before I forget, Mom and Dave send their love to you guys.”
“I’ll give your mom a call soon,” he says. “I was thinking the four of us could come visit you on campus. You could give us the grand tour, and then we’ll take you out to dinner afterward.”
“I’d love that.”
When I end the call, I settle into bed and turn off my bedside lamp.
Melissa laughs. “How many parents do you have?”
“Four. My parents got pregnant with me when they were seniors in high school. They decided not to get married. My dad went into the military, and my mom came here for her undergraduate degree. She met my stepdad in law school. My dad recently got married, so now I have a stepmom. Fortunately, they all get along really well.”
“It sure sounds like it.” She turns onto her side, facing away from me. “Goodnight, Haley. Sleep well.”
“You, too, Melissa. Goodnight.”
As I lie in bed, I run through the events of the day in my head. It’s sort of a habit of mine. I think about what I did that day, and then I plan for what I’m going to do the next day.
I’m looking forward to seeing Philip tomorrow. Once school starts and I have homework to do, I won’t have as much free time.
I close my eyes and recall how it felt being with him on this bed.
I can still smell him, his faint cologne, his skin.
I remember what it felt like sitting astride him, feeling his erection pressing into me.
I could feel the heat of him even through my shorts, and I can’t imagine what it would feel like if we were both naked and had privacy and time to let nature take its course.
I think it would be scorching, and I can’t wait to find out.
My phone chimes quietly with a text notification. I glance at the screen and smile.
Philip – Sweet dreams, Hale. miss you already
Smiling, I text him back.
Me – I miss you, too.
“Let me guess,” Melissa says quietly in the darkened room. “That was from your boyfriend.”
I smile. “Yeah. He was just saying goodnight.”
