Chapter 35
Time to Relax
Oni
“She’s here.”
I nod as the words come over the comm in my ear. I’ve been waiting for this day. This outlet will help me to deal with all the current stress in my life.
“We’re ready,” Rico replies.
Emilio and my mother have come to an agreement of sorts. The two can be in a room without breaking into an argument, at least—that’s been an improvement. I think my mother finally understands I’m getting married to Rico no matter what.
However, I haven’t had time to go back and forth with her over that. I have more important things to handle. Like an entitled Mafia princess who thought it wise to fuck with me and my man.
When Emilio gave the green light to take out Abato and his bitch daughter Juliana, I was happy to accept the job. Rico wanted to play it quick and easy. Get it over with and be done.
Me, not so much. I’ve spent the last two months making her life hell. I’ve fucked with Juliana in ways that make me question my own sanity.
Rico can only laugh and call me petty. I have this bitch so paranoid she sleeps with her eyes open. I’ve broken into her car and moved it from where she parked it so many times, I know she’s on the verge of committing herself.
First, I would only move it out of the driveway onto the street. Then I started to change her rows at the mall or her spot on the street. When she set up the cams at her place and in the car, I switched it up.
For two weeks straight, I had nails placed at the base of her driveway. Every single day, she ended up with a flat. That bitch has had so many flats, even if she has tire insurance, I’m sure they didn’t cover all those incidents.
With those five-hundred-dollar tires, I’m fucking with her pockets too. Pockets that have been light because while I fuck with her, Rico and Emilio have effectively fucked with her father’s business.
Daddy doesn’t have it to spoil her ass anymore. Abato is running out of moves. He’s going to need to cut loose some dead weight. Juliana or the Sullivans are at the top of my wish list.
“Thank you so much, Anton. You have no idea how much I needed this,” Juliana’s annoying voice fills the suite Rico and I are waiting in.
Why, after three years, haven’t I let this go? She tried to have me raped. I took my first body because of her stupid ass. She had Rico and his family ambushed, then I was shot.
I’d say what I’m about to do to her isn’t good enough. I wanted to drag this out for at least four more months. If Rico hadn’t said enough, I would have.
“You’re welcome. Everything is on me. Make yourself comfortable and relax. You don’t have to worry about a thing while you’re here.”
“I’m so exhausted. When I get my life back on track, I owe you one. Please don’t tell anyone about all of this. It’s so embarrassing.”
“Shit happens. You’ll bounce back. Your pop will figure his shit out. Besides, it’s nobody’s business. Your secret is safe with me.”
I have to stifle my laughter. Rico’s buddy is laying it on thick. He doesn’t give a shit about her. He’s doing us a favor by getting her here to one of Emilio’s hotels.
“I’m so glad you reached out when you did. I thought I was losing my mind. No one would listen to me.
“You’re such a lifesaver. You have to let me pay you back somehow. I mean, in any way I can,” Juliana purrs.
I roll my eyes as the sound of her and Anton making out reaches my ears. I guess he better get it while it’s hot, she’s about to be a cold, dead bitch. I just hope they don’t take this too far while we’re waiting.
“Listen, I need to go. You’ll find a little something-something in the room waiting for you,” Anton says.
Relief washes over me when the sound of the heavy door of the suite clicks shut. A few moments go by, and Juliana makes a call. This bitch makes my butt itch.
Her voice is like nails on a chalkboard. I look across the room where Rico is standing in the shadows. It’s like I can feel him rolling his eyes too. However, we want this to happen just right and will wait to make sure it does.
“Hey, it’s me,” Juliana says into the phone.
“I thought you were coming with us to the salon. The girls are looking for you. Are you on the way?” her friend says as she places the phone on speaker.
“No, I’m taking some time to chill.”
“Are you still coming to the club?”
“I don’t think I’m going to come out tonight.”
The friend sighs. “Is this about your car? You can be forgetful sometimes, Juliana. I don’t think anyone is moving your car around.”
“I don’t want to talk about it. Look, I have to go.”
“Okay, call me later. Okay?”
“Yeah, I will.”
She hangs up and starts mumbling to herself about no one believing her. “Forgetful. I’m not a fucking idiot. This is not all in my head.
“Oh, look, just what I need. Thank you, Anton,” she sings to herself.
It looks like she’s found our parting gift. Just as we hoped, she enters the bathroom and starts the water for a bath. We continue to wait impatiently.
I know I’m ready for this to be over. My wish is granted as Juliana starts to play music from her phone as she gets undressed. A smile comes to my lips as the scent of off-smelling weed fills the room.
You see, we had Anton bring Juliana here to relax and let her guard down. Then we made sure to leave her a K2 blunt laced with fentanyl. Juliana is about to have the high of her life.
Right on cue, she begins to cough in the bathroom. Rico and I walk out of our hiding places and join hands as we stroll into the bathroom. Juliana’s eyes grow wide the moment she sees us.
I give her a bright smile and wink at her. She starts to pound at her chest as her eyes water. Rico kisses my temple as we both start to laugh.
“Wh … what are you doing here?” Juliana manages to choke out.
“Neither of us believes in sending people to do our dirty work. When we want someone touched, we make that shit happen ourselves,” Rico says smoothly.
“Ge … get the fuck out,” she says in a panic.
“Not yet. We’re here to watch you die, bitch,” I hiss.
Her coughing fit increases, then she begins to foam at the mouth. It doesn’t take long for the life to leave her eyes as she slumps in the bathtub.
I brush my hands together as if wiping off dirt. Then we turn to leave the way we came. Our job here is done.
