6. Donna
Donna
I woke to gentle fingers trailing up and down my spine, a pleasant sensation that brought a smile to my face as I stretched and yawned.
I half expected a sudden missile to strike the ship and ruin this moment of peace, but it didn’t.
Our enemies had been dealt with. Nobody else was going to fire at us.
I blinked my eyes open, expecting to see Daxer, and made a surprised sound as I realised Aszher was the one stroking my back, caressing me while I slept.
“I thought you were angry with me,” I murmured, smiling wryly.
“I was,” he replied, a low growl. “I still am. That was the most dangerous thing I’ve ever seen anyone do.”
“But it worked.” I grinned; couldn’t help it. “You’ve gotta be a little bit in awe of me. Admit it.”
His golden eyes narrowed. “Your ego’s going to get you killed.”
“Probably,” I agreed, arching into his touch as his hand slid beneath the shirt I’d hastily dressed in earlier. One of Daxer’s, I thought. “But can it get me kissed?”
Aszher’s eyes darkened to deep amber. “You’re incorrigible.”
I shrugged, rolling over and covering his body where he stretched out beside me. “Shamelessly.”
He laughed, his eyes crinkling at the edges and his mouth softening into a smile. Damn, he was handsome. I lowered my mouth to his, sighing when he kissed me back. His fingers tangled in my hair as his mouth slanted over mine, his tongue teasing mine with slow, lazy strokes.
“I’ve never met anyone as stupid or reckless as you,” he said gruffly when he’d kissed me senseless, my lips swollen and my mind fuzzy. “Or as amazing,” he added when I opened my mouth to argue, his lips brushing wet kisses down my jaw to my throat. “Or as strikingly beautiful.”
“Don’t stop there,” I breathed. “Tell me more.”
“Or as arrogant or cocky,” he added, slicking his tongue up the column of my throat, and sucking on a spot just under my chin that made my eyes roll back, my hips jerking against his.
“Or as completely beguiling,” he added. “I love how responsive you are, the sounds you make for us.”
I bit my lip as he grazed my throat with his teeth, his crystals glowing a bright, golden yellow.
“Daxer, Blitz,” he called. “Put the Comet on autopilot. Donna’s awake.”
“Finally,” I heard Blitz murmur, and laughed. Had they been desperate for me? My poor babies.
Blitz’s brunette head appeared through the door to the master bedroom; he grinned at the sight of me splayed out across his brother. “Looks like we already missed the start of the fun.” He pouted.
I rolled my eyes. “It was one kiss.”
“You’ll have to kiss us both, too,” Daxer said warmly, closing the door behind himself and settling violet eyes on me. “It’s only fair.”
“Well, in the spirit of fairness,” I replied, my voice dropping to a sultry purr, “get your ass over here.”
Daxer grinned, and prowled towards the bed, Blitz stalking towards me, too. A delicious thrill moved from my head to my toes.
I took back what I said about New Earth.
I was glad I’d gone to that monk-infested planet, even if I had been hunted by killer trees and a heart eater.
As Daxer kissed me hard, his brothers’ hands roving across my body, I decided stealing that skull was the best decision I’d ever made.
If it brought me here, worshipped by the Di Vaur brothers, I’d make it again and again and again.
The End
