Chapter 19 Should we make a snowman?

nineteen

Should we make a snowman?

I wanted to go get a tree right away. This was our last full day here, as long as Chase agreed to come home with us.

If not… then this place was mine and Nyx’s new home until Chase agreed to be ours.

I thought I could get used to it here, but Nyx?

Well, he would have to adjust. Besides, he would no more leave Chase than I would.

But, barring any issues, we were leaving tomorrow afternoon, and I wanted a Christmas tree.

The guest services assistant we’d been assigned after we bought Chase—Jerri—wasn’t available until this afternoon, which left us the rest of the morning.

Nyx wanted to just laze around the house, but I was bored.

My eyes flicked over to my throupling. Nyx was playing with Chase’s toes again as he told our human about his work.

Chase, for his part, didn’t seem bored as Nyx went on and on detailing his coding for fount dispensers, to make them more efficient and healthy—not tasty, though.

Fount dispensers could make any food, and it would meet your needs, but it tasted horrible, or rather bland.

I guessed that was a better way to say it.

But it had ended food scarcity in the Alliance, so it was definitely worth it.

Chase smiled when Nyx kissed the arch of his foot, and my gut bubbled in warmth.

I loved watching the two of them together.

It was adorable to see their relationship grow as it had.

In time, they would be as solid as Nyx and I were, and the same would be true for me and Chase.

Yes, we all needed to be in a relationship together, but our separate relationships were equally important.

Nyx nibbled on one of Chase’s toes, then went back to talking.

I rolled my eyes at the motion. His fascination with our human’s feet was baffling.

Did Chase have cute feet? Of course. Everything was cute about him.

But I didn’t quite grasp the need to stroke and kiss them.

However, if it made Nyx and Chase both happy, I didn’t see the harm.

But I was bored. Very bored. I grinned, sliding across the floor toward Chase, who was staring at Nyx.

My coupling saw me, but he didn’t react.

I threw myself at Chase, and he squealed, making me burst into laughter.

His arms wrapped around me, which kept me from falling off the couch, and I brushed a tentacle over his red cheek.

“Hi, pet.”

The color deepened. Chase kissed my chin. “Hi.”

A slap sounded, and I yelped, though it didn’t hurt. I glanced over my shoulder, pouting. Nyx frowned in return. “You could have hurt him or yourself, Tam. Don’t just fling yourself at people and expect them to catch you. Remember when you broke your arm?”

I widened my eyes further, and Nyx just shook his head, but Chase, my precious Chase, hugged me closer. He kissed my cheek, then said, “I’m fine, Daddy.”

“So am I,” I replied, curling closer to Chase and smiling.

I saw Nyx's worry crumble at our combined cuteness. Oh, yes, I was going to use this in the future.

Chase dragged his fingers down my spine, and I sighed, resting my ear over his heart, which steadily thumped. I rested a hand on his chest and played with a bit of hair I found there. “I'm bored.”

“What did you want to do?”

“Something Christmas-y until we can go get a tree.”

“Chase might be too sore, dear one, and it’s cold.

Let’s just stay inside,” Nyx commented, shifting until he rested partially on me, and something deep within me relaxed.

This was pure perfection right here. I was always meant to be with these two people, and now that we were together, I never wanted to separate.

Nyx kissed my shoulder, and some of his tentacles coiled around mine while others slid over my skin, bringing awareness with every movement.

Part of me wanted to give in to what he was offering—sex, plain and simple—but we were running out of time with Chase.

He needed to know that we wanted more than his body; that we valued him for other things, like his humor, kindness, and gentle heart.

“I want to do something,” I whined.

A grumble came from Nyx, but he was just complaining, and a worried hum came from Chase. He cupped my cheeks. “Do you want to make a snowman?”

I cocked my head. “What’s that?”

Chase grinned. “You’ll love this.”

I followed Chase to the kitchen, reveling in the way his butt bounced with each step.

His cheeks were still pink from his earlier spanking, but he seemed so much better and calmer now.

He grabbed a carrot from the fridge and said, “There should be buttons, a scarf, and a top hat in one of your boxes.”

“What?” I asked, blinking.

He laughed, and the sound sent shocks throughout my body. It was so carefree and joyous. I loved that laugh. I crashed into Chase again, gentler this time. My lips found his, and he met me with equal fervor, but I pulled back after a moment.

“I like you happy,” I said, breathless.

His cheeks darkening, Chase replied, “I like you happy too.”

“Good! Teach me to make a snowman.”

Chase laughed again and snagged my hand to race outside. We were stalled by Nyx. He demanded I wear a thicker sweater before taking Chase away to put clothes on. Once we were properly attired, Nyx let us go, but he refused to join us, as he wanted to make us a healthy lunch.

I left him to it and dragged the other part of my throupling outside.

Tam was way too good at this. Their tentacles gave them an unfair advantage in shaping the snow. Also, they seemed to possess an artistic talent for sculpting. This wasn’t a competition in the slightest, but I had one very lopsided snowman, and Tam had an entire family, whom they’d named.

“Can I ask you a question?” I asked, not looking at them and focusing on my snowman that was determined to fall over.

“You don’t have to ask, pet. Just say whatever you want. You won’t get in trouble.” Tam paused. “Unless it’s mean things about yourself. I will have Nyx spank you again.”

I laughed, but it was laced with my nerves. “No, it’s not mean. It’s just kind of personal about Nyx.”

“Yes, he is a workaholic, and a boulder in the sand, but I am hoping that will change,” they said, placing a small snowperson next to the five large ones.

“No.” I cleared my throat. I didn’t even know why I wanted to know this. “Does he bottom?”

My chin was lifted, and I looked up at Tam, who was grinning. “You want to fuck your Daddy.”

Heat swamped my cheeks.

Tam chuckled. “Yes, he does, occasionally, but, pet, it takes him time to trust someone enough for that. It took years for Nyx to allow me to fuck him, and it’s rare that he asks.”

I heard what he wasn’t saying. They were leaving tomorrow. There wasn’t enough time. I nodded and returned to my snowman, but it fell, breaking apart, just like we were.

“Also,” Tam continued, re-forming my snow into a round ball, “you would have to wear a condom.”

“Why?” I hadn’t been this whole time.

“I can’t get Nyx pregnant. You can. Humans and lollikrakes are compatible.”

“I didn’t know that.”

“Yep,” Tam said, grinning. “Nyx would get all round with an egg.”

“It’d be cute,” I remarked before I could swallow the words.

Tam bobbed their head. “He would be so cute.”

“And cranky,” I whispered.

“So cranky!”

I burst into laughter, and Tam followed suit, tackling me into the snow.

They gently brushed my face again, and I smiled up at them.

Tam was so beautiful; I loved their bright pink hair and their silver eyes that were always twinkling with humor.

They were sunshine in person, and it looked good on them.

Arching, I kissed their lips. “I like you smiling. I like you happy. I like you on top of me like this. I like you.”

“I like all of you, pet.” They claimed my mouth, coiling around me.

We stayed like that until Nyx made us come and eat. Walking into the house, my hand in each one of theirs, I was content. Well, as long as I didn’t think about tomorrow.
