37. Vameer
Vameer
She has not yet looked at me, but she reached for me.
I am Vameer Vadas. Interfector Mali. Bearer of War.
I am the one whispered about over campfires. The one men fear. The one warriors avoid.
But she reaches for me.
My mate settles her hand over mine, pinning my hand to her chest. “My name is Rune.”
Rune.
My Little Human.
My Mate.
My Heart.
She is here.
Against me.
I can feel her name as she speaks it.
“Rune.” The letters taste like the sweetest fruit on my tongue.
My eyes want to close as I savor it, but I don’t dare shut them.
I don’t dare look away from my Rune. Unwilling to miss one second of her.
Rune leans into me even more.
My purr deepens, and my gravito wraps invisibly around us, holding her tightly to me.
“Tell me yours.” Her breath hitches. “Please.”
My mouth curves into a smile. So polite.
I slide my hand from her hip, around her soft waist, to her stomach, her small hand still gripping my finger.
She trembles with a shiver, and I curl myself over her, bringing my lips close to her hair.
“My name is Vameer. And I am yours.”
The scent of chocolate sauce fills the air, mixing with sliced apples, and my purr morphs into a growl of possession.
