Vameer
My gravito billows out around me, thickening until it looks like smoke.
The man takes another step backward.
Blood loss is making him unsteady.
Shock is making him quiet.
But it’s not enough.
Bleeding out is not enough.
I step into the small space between buildings, barely fitting and blocking out the light of the rising sun. Covering the man in shadows.
He starts to fall, but I catch him. Gripping him by the shoulders. Holding him up.
And I urge my Fire Touch to the surface.
My mate’s blood roars through my body, amplifying my powers.
My hands heat.
The man’s eyes widen.
And I lean in close. So we’re face-to-face.
Real smoke starts to rise off his clothing.
“Say hello to the Devil for me,” I hiss as my Fire Touch flares.
And just as the man bursts into flames, I dig my fingers in, between his bones, and I rip him in half.
