70. Volik
Volik
“Uh, Volik?” Henry’s voice is muffled from the other side of Vameer’s power.
I place a hand on Vameer’s shoulder. “Brother. That is Henry. He is a shifter and a friend. And the dean here.”
Vameer nods slowly. “He did the interview with you.”
It is more of a statement than a question, but I still agree. “Da. Have you seen it?”
“Da.” He mimics me, like he used to always do.
I breathe in the storm that is my brother and squeeze his giant shoulder. “I missed you.”
His throat works on a swallow, and that storm cloud scent sharpens with emotion. “I—”
He might still be bigger than me, but he is not that much bigger. So, I shake him. “No more apologies.”
Vameer sighs. Then dips his chin.
“Should I go, or…?” Henry is still on the other side of Vameer’s wall of gravito. And I do not blame him for not trying to touch it.
It is vibrating with intensity.
And feels almost… feral.
I shake Vameer’s shoulder again. “He is your friend now too.”
My chest warms as I watch my brother hug his mate tighter against his side.
Then the barrier around us evaporates.
