Chapter 20 Elodie #2

Then there’s Willow and all of her bullshit, and a figure that slips into my room at night, despite the lock and cameras in place.

Never mind the fact that I’ve only just learned that my parents were indeed not my biological parents.

And to top it all off, I need to figure my magic out so I can start being my own weapon instead of someone else’s.

But right now, I just need to check my messages and speak to my friend.

Taking a deep breath, I awaken my cell phone to find three text messages waiting for me.

There are no surveillance notifications this morning, which makes my stomach turn.

Do they know I’m not there? Is that why they didn’t visit last night?

But the only people who know where I am right now are Rion and Kael, maybe Thorne too, but…

I shake my head. I’m overthinking it.

Opening the messages, I find they’re all from Ocean.

Ocean: Hey, bestie, I’m going to stay with Nathaniel tonight. Let me know you’re good, okay?

Ocean: Is twenty-eight minutes too soon for me to send a follow-up text because I’m starting to worry? Anyone else, no problem, but anything can seem to cause you trouble. It doesn’t help that you’re never even on your cell phone. Okay, I’m not overreacting. Let me know you’re good when you can!

Ocean: Okay, I overreacted, but it’s all good. One quick text to Rion and the master wolf himself confirmed you are indeed not dead and safe in HIS bed. I’m glad, really, but the smugness in his tone is gross. Be safe in all of the ways, queen!

That girl is certifiably psychotic, and I think I love her for it. I quickly shoot her a reply to confirm all is good before slipping my cell phone back into my backpack, just as the bedroom door swings open and Rion reappears.

The grin on his face is broad as he takes me in, but it’s the mug in his hand with whipped cream swirled on top that has my attention.

“Ocean said you like hazelnut hot chocolate. I took a chance on the topping,” he states, moving to place it on the nightstand beside me, but I swoop in and take it straight from him.

“Your chance paid off,” I breathe, my heart racing at the gesture as I blink at him. “Thank you.”

He winks. “You’re welcome. Breakfast is going to be about thirty minutes, so you can chill out here, take a shower, do whatever you want, but if you have the key to your room, I can grab you some clothes.”

“You don’t have to do that,” I insist, my eyes wide as I try not to gape at him.

“Amuse me, Petal,” he murmurs, leaning closer with his hands coiled into fists and planted on either side of my thighs. “This is all foreign to me, but spoiling you sounds like the kind of fun I want,” he adds, his voice so husky I shiver.

Pressing the mug against my chest with one hand, I use the other to fish out my keys, offering them to him without question, and he beams when I place them in his palm.

“I’ll take you up on that shower, if that’s okay,” I breathe. It feels like my entire body is trembling. No one has ever taken care of me, not like this. I need to be careful because it could definitely become addictive.

“Please do, Petal. Make yourself at home,” he replies, pressing a sweet kiss to my forehead before sauntering out of the room without a backward glance.

I enjoy the perfect view of his butt for the second time as the door closes before I bring the mug to my lips and delight in the deliciousness inside.

What even is my life?

I’ve never been on a rollercoaster, but this sure as hell feels like one. I’m exhausted from the constant ups and downs that are being thrown at me, but if I get to enjoy a moment like this, maybe it’s all worth it.

With a warmth in my stomach and a lightheadedness making me feel like I’m floating in bliss, I head for the bathroom, mug in hand, as I turn on the shower. I almost feel sad stripping out of his t-shirt, but I fold it up neatly, fully intent on taking it for myself.

Placing my mug of sweetness on the vanity, I secure my hair in a messy purple pile on top of my head before I step under the spray.

Cranking the temperature a little higher, I let the heat melt my tension away.

I falter as I reach for the body wash, only to find a brand new bottle of the one I use waiting for me.

My instincts tell me it’s a coincidence until I see the men’s version half used beside it.

Is that there for me?

Gulping, I fail to remain calm as a grin almost splits my face in two.

How am I supposed to live without this?

Shaking my head, I hurry along, my stomach grumbling with hunger just like last night, when a gentle breeze blows over my skin, puckering goosebumps along my arms. I press my lips together as I turn to glance over my shoulder, when a shadow casts over me and a body presses against mine.

His scent fills my airways and I relax. My lips part, but before I can say a word, his lips press against my shoulder, making me shiver with desire.

“Rion,” I rasp, my breath short and sharp as I feel his looming presence everywhere, and he snickers against my ear.

“Sorry, Petal,” he whispers, stroking his hands down my sides.

“I had this pretty little thing pressed against me all night, and the idea of her being in here, in my shower, all alone just didn’t seem right,” he murmurs, my core tingling at his raspy words as he presses the length of himself against my back.

I lean into him, desperate to show him that I want him when I can’t find the words to tell him.

The sound of the water fills the room, encasing us in a moment of rawness as he trails his hands from my wrists to my shoulders, teasing along my collarbone before delving down the valley between my breasts.

The moment he reaches near my belly button, my muscles clench with anticipation, but instead of traveling farther down, he flutters his finger tips and strokes over my hips instead.

“You’re a tease,” I mumble, my words barely audible over my pulse thundering in my ears.

“I’m just appreciating what’s mine,” he replies, making my core clench, and I feel him grin against my skin as he trails soft kisses over my shoulder.

“Tell me that’s what you are, Petal,” he breathes, bringing his lips to my ear.

My jaw falls slack, but I can’t find the words.

“Say it, Elodie. Say you’ll let me obsess over you.

Say you’ll let me bring you fucking joy, and ecstasy, and safety. Say you’ll let me find myself in you.”

I feel weightless at his words, and he expects me to respond. He must take my silence as uncertainty because he pushes on.

“I already know I have to share you, Petal. It’s okay. Kael and Thorne will be worthy of you, I’ll make sure of it.”

“I’m not… they’re not…”

“It’s okay. You don’t need to say anything. Just know that I know, and I want it, okay?” His free hand strokes down my back, over every scar, and instead of tensing at the touch, I lean into him more.

Never mind surviving this life, I don’t know if I can survive this moment.

“Rion,” I breathe as he grinds his cock between my ass cheeks.

“This is mine soon, Petal,” he reminds me, and I gulp as the water cascades over my limbs. “But I want to start my weekend off with your thighs wrapped around my waist like a vice, yeah?” His lips brush against the shell of my ear, and I’m putty in his hands.

He brings his fingertip to my lips as he turns me around so we’re face to face.

Turning on the spot, I’m swept off my feet before my eyes find his.

A hiss parts my lips as my back meets the cool tiled wall behind me, but heat floods my bones as the man before me grins with the glint of victory in his eyes.

Silently, I wrap my arms around him, mesmerized by the water droplets gathering along the tips of his cropped hair before cascading over his muscles, taking a journey I’m desperate to follow with my tongue.

His thick length presses against my core as he inches me higher up the wall, eyes locked on mine the entire time as I cling to him.

My fingertips press into his shoulders as our breaths mingle between us.

Each inhale grows shorter as desire tightens my muscles, and all he’s doing is holding me in the air; he’s not even touching me properly. Yet there’s no rush.

I feel warped in time, intent on staring deep into his eyes, like I need to cement this moment in my mind for all of eternity.

A squeal bursts from my lungs as he hikes me even higher against the wall so his head is in line with my breasts.

His hungry stare lingers on mine as he leans close, running his tongue over my taut peaks before sucking one into his mouth.

His cheeks hollow out as I gasp, my fingers digging in deeper, desperate for purchase.

It’s futile as he rakes his teeth over my flesh and my back arches off the wall, eager for more.

But from this angle, he has all of the control. It suits him too much for me to protest.

“Fuck me, Rion.” It comes out as a plea, not an order, and he smirks, grinding his cock through my folds as he lowers me just enough to connect.

His hands slip to cover the globes of my ass, instantly bruising as I leave my mark on him too. I moan when the tip of his cock lines up with my entrance in the next breath.

“Beg me again, Petal. I didn’t quite hear you the first time,” he rasps as I try to lower myself onto his dick, but he makes it impossible.

Pouting, I exhale slowly, surrendering my control as I bring my hand from his shoulder to his face. My thumb runs across his bottom lip as my half-mast gaze fixates on his. “Fuck me, Rion.” He cocks a brow. “Please,” I add, and he thrusts his hips in one swift move, stretching me with his cock.

The sound of the shower barely drowns out my cry of pleasure as I struggle to adjust to him inside me.

If he notices, he doesn’t make it known as he pulls out just enough to drive deeper, making my pussy clench around him.

My next euphoric moan is mellowed out in comparison as I slowly adjust to his width.
