Chapter 36
THIRTY-SIX
LILITH
I taste him, suck him, and devour him as Deven screams in the background.
I couldn’t care less.
I’m so wet and needy that I want what’s in my mouth between my legs.
Now.
A few more thrusts into my mouth, and he pulls out and steps back. My eyes meet his from my kneeling position, and he smiles down at me. Under the moonlight, I see the glint of the necklace he wears, the one he stole from me.
“Tell me, Caterpillar. How bad do you want it?” His hand covers his cock, and I try to close my legs a little.
“I need it,” I say in a desperate plea. Reon chuckles softly before he beckons for me to come closer. I move to get up, but he shakes his head.
“Pick up your mask and stay on your knees as you come to me.”
We both put our masks back on, and then I knee-walk until I’m directly in front of him again.
His cock twitches, and I wonder if he needs me as much as I need him right now.
He lifts my chin with his finger, indicating that I should get up.
I do so, standing naked in front of him, my knees covered with dirt, Deven still crying out like a baby in the background.
“You were made for me, you know that?” he says.
“Was I?”
He nods and pulls me toward him. He lifts my leg and hooks it around his waist. I feel him between my legs.
He moves me just a little so he can slide straight into me.
When he does, he grunts, and I cup my naked breasts and squeeze them.
He would never let me fall, so I drop my head back as he begins to move inside me.
I arch back a little farther, and the new position makes it easier for him to slide in and out of me.
On the outside, it would appear we are in a dance, but we are far from it.
No, his cock is sliding in and out of me, and it’s pure ecstasy.
Then he leans down and bites my breast, all the while rocking in and out of me.
“Look, Caterpillar. Open those big brown eyes for me, and watch as your ex-husband cries while I fuck you.” I open my eyes as my head hangs backward, my hands still on my breasts as Reon holds me up.
And I see Deven watching us as he cries.
Whether he’s crying from the pain or from watching us, I’m not sure.
But it does something to me, and it must do something to Reon, too, because in one swift movement, I’m lifted, so both my legs have to wrap around his waist, and he bounces me up and down on his cock.
“Did he ever fuck you like this, Caterpillar?”
“Never,” I manage to say as I feel the buildup.
He bites my ear lobe as he growls, “Who does this fucking pussy belong to?”
“You!” I scream as I come.
He grunts at the same time, and I feel him come inside me. My head falls onto his shoulder as he continues to move. I try to catch my breath as his rhythm slows, and when he stops, he leans me back, pulls off our masks—so fast I’m pretty sure he took some hair with it—and slams his lips to mine.
He takes my breath away—literally.
He inhales me, as a good husband should do.
And I let him.
I give him my all, and it’s the freest and most secure I have ever felt in my life. Pulling apart our now-bruised lips, he places me on my feet and smiles.
“Ready to finish the Hunt so I can take you back to our place and fuck you all night?”
“Yes,” I say as I pick up the axe. I walk over to Deven and smile down at him, not even bothering with my clothes. “I think it’s time for me to put an end to this story, Deven.”
“You are so fucked-up,” he grits out.
“Do you think it’s smart to talk smack to me?” I ask him, shaking my head.
“You’re fucking naked and holding an axe, you crazy bitch.”
I laugh at his words. “Yeah, I guess I am.” I lift the axe and swing it down in one swift movement. The blade sinks into his chest, and a loud, delightful crack echoes through the forest at the impact.
Deven’s eyes go wide before they drop down to stare at the axe.
“Someone’s coming. Get dressed,” Reon whisper-shouts as he comes over, takes the handle of the axe and pulls it hard so it slides out of Deven’s chest, and blood spatters everywhere.
Deven falls back to the forest floor. I turn to find my clothes—it’s easier to see when the moon is fuller—but I find them fairly quickly.
Once I’m dressed, Reon tosses me my mask.
“Put it on so no one recognizes you.” I do as he says, and then he grabs my hand and pulls me in the direction from which we came.
When we get to the car, I note that two other cars are parked.
I don’t recognize either vehicle, but I do know the person who steps out of one of them.
Soren.
Of course, it is. He’s back.
His gaze zeroes in on Reon before moving to me, then the axe in Reon’s hand that still has blood on it.
Someone steps out of the second car. Arlo. He stays back near the car, not joining the conversation.
“Are you not going to say hello, Lilith?”
“We were leaving,” Reon says, tugging me with him.
Soren shakes his head and makes a sound. “But I have a few questions for Lilith. I let you do what others would never dream of doing.” Soren eyes me.
“This is my land as much as it’s yours,” Reon says.
“You come out here on your own without notifying the rest of us. Don’t think we don’t know about that, Soren.
” Reon nods to Arlo. “Arlo comes out here, too. Last time, he fucked his fling so hard somehow that the knife slipped and stabbed her. Right, Arlo?”
Arlo remains silent but grins and arches a brow.
“Do you remember Keenan?” Soren asks, and my body freezes at my father’s name.
“What does that have to do with anything?” Reon asks.
I turn to Reon, then reach for the mask and pull it off.
Soren shoots me a sinister smile, then says, “Ask your wife.”
Reon’s grip on my hand tightens, and I remain frozen at his side.
“I’ll do no such thing. Now, move your fucking car and stop blocking me in.”
“Lilith, did you ever hear the story of how Keenan went to jail? How he got caught?” I ignore him and follow Reon. “It was Reon. Reon snuck out, recorded him, and gave it to me. I slipped the video to the news, and boom! Caught red-handed.
“It was easy, really, taking the Lord down. He was becoming too cocky, too powerful, that one, and taking things into his own hands. Sometimes, you need to be knocked down to know your place. So, Keenan was taught a lesson, and it was a great one, wouldn’t you say?”
“Get in the car,” Reon orders, opening the door, but Soren’s words echo through my mind.
“Is that true?” I ask Reon. He looks at me, and his expression morphs into a puzzled furrow.
“What? Who cares? It was years ago.”
“Yes, almost sixteen years ago,” I add, and he pauses.
Soren whistles in the background. “Sixteen years. Damn, was it that long ago?” Soren sings.
I turn and search for Arlo, to find him not paying us any attention.
“Arlo?” I call out.
“Caterpillar.” Reon tries to get my attention back on him.
“Arlo, is it true?” I ask.
“Why do you care, and why are you asking Arlo?” Reon questions, trying to pull me back to him, but I don’t move. I can’t. I’m stuck on the spot.
Arlo doesn’t respond, and I need him to answer. This can’t all be fake, can it?
“Caterpillar, why do you care?” Reon asks again. His gaze is locked on me, and I’m so stunned I have to try to get the correct words out.
“Kennan is my father. You took my father from me. You took him away from me,” I scream.
Reon steps back, putting distance between us. “No. Keenan had no family but a sister and a niece,” he says, brow furrowed.
“No, he has a sister and a daughter… the daughter being me,” I say, pointing to myself.
Reon shakes his head in denial. “No. No, that’s not right. I looked. I know.” He eyes me as if he’s seeing me for the first time.
“Did you?” I question.
“Yes. He has no other known relatives. Your birth certificate doesn’t mention a father.”
“Yes, this is true,” Soren breaks in from behind us. “Sneaky, right? Protecting her from the time she was born. Where were you all that time?”
“She was with her aunt.” Arlo finally joins the conversation, and all eyes turn to him.
“You knew?” Reon asks, incredulous.
“Of course, he knew!” I scream at Reon. “Why the fuck did you set up my father?”
“We already went over this,” Soren adds.
“Soren wanted to be Lord, and at the time, I thought it was a good idea,” Reon explains, looking at Soren.
“I was a fool. You are more power-hungry than even he was.” Reon turns to me.
“Caterpillar, get in the car so we can talk.” When I don’t move or answer him, he looks me dead in the eyes and says with desperation, “Get in the car, Lilith. You’re my wife,” Reon growls.
