I’m in the outermost region of the Zem Kingdom, past mines and quarries, about as far from the Megadome as I can be, waiting for a woman who happens to fit Lo’s description, who might show.
Nizzara’s duel has already started, and that single thought has me restless to get going.
The meeting place on the flats beyond the hills of bedrock is devoid of life.
Every minute that ticks by heightens the feeling that Nizzara could be on the receiving end of a killing blow.
When a mining sled pulled by a Zem miner tugs into view, too much time has passed.
I wait a little longer.
The woman could show any minute.
