Chapter 6
When Angel woke up, Vex held her close. His green eyes focused on her. Self-conscious, she wiped her mouth, hoping she hadn’t drooled on him. “Hi.”
“Hi, Angel. You took a long nap. Good job.”
“I just laid there and snoozed, Daddy. That’s not a monumental accomplishment,” she said.
“Of course that’s a big step. You slept well. You relaxed and didn’t have any bad dreams. I bet you feel better.”
She thought about it for a minute and nodded. “I’m good. Not like perfectly normal but more like myself.”
“That sounds like an accomplishment to me.”
Suddenly, it seemed like one to her as well. Not like climbing Mount Everest but definitely a positive step. She pushed herself up on an elbow to look at him. “Thanks.”
“You’re very welcome,” Vex said formally, making her laugh. “Let’s go potty and grab something to drink. Then would you like to take a tour of the compound?”
From the amount of light filling the nursery, she could tell the weather was sunny outside. Suddenly, the last thing she wanted to do was stay inside. Besides, she was curious about the Devil Daddies and Vex’s home. “I’d love that.”
In a few minutes, they walked out of Vex’s cabin. Angel glanced around at the homes built along a row. Razor’s house was across the street. Scythe had a Little girl as well, Vex had shared. Were there anymore?
Dappled sunlight filled the compound. Built in the middle of a wooded area, mature trees towered overhead. Angel loved the curbside appeal of the cabins in the woods. They were close enough together that they felt like a community without being right on top of each other.
A powerful engine roared, and Angel glanced down the road. She suspected the entrance lay in that direction. A huge motorcycle prowled slowly along the pavement.
“Who’s that?” she asked, shifting closer to Vex.
“Lucien. He’s the MC’s president and founder. All this land and the grounds of the warehouse and Inferno belong to him.”
“How come he doesn’t have a nickname like the rest of you? Vex, Razor, Street.… Lucien seems ordinary.”
“Lucien rides as Diablo.”
“Diablo. Like the devil?” she asked, moving a fraction closer to Vex as the black motorcycle approached. “Oh, my! His bike has red flames. He is Diablo.”
“Looks like he’ll stop. Don’t be scared,” Vex reassured her as Angel ducked partially behind him.
The monstrous cycle slowed to a halt close to them. The rider dropped his feet to the ground and took off his helmet.
Angel stared at the tattoos that decorated his neck and face. Wow. “Hi,” she whispered.
“You must be Angel. Welcome to the Devil Daddies MC.”
“Thank you.” She swallowed hard. Those dark eyes held no warmth. They peered into her as if he could see into her soul. “Thank you for saving me from the Ravagers.”
“Vex and Razor are responsible for that. They’ve vouched for you,” Lucien told her bluntly. His face was a mask, not revealing his inner thoughts.
Lucien studied her for a minute. Not hiding or cringing behind Vex took all her courage. When Vex wrapped his arm around Angel, she stiffened her spine. “I appreciate everything they’re doing for me.”
“To deal with the Ravagers, I need to know what they’re thinking.”
“They’re fucking animals,” Vex swore. Angel nodded in perfect agreement.
Lucien didn’t react, keeping his focus on Angel.
She tried hard not to squirm. A powerful aura surrounded the MC president.
She was used to men who ruled multimillion-dollar companies with iron fists.
Lucien surpassed all of them in his ability to intimidate without even trying.
He simply sat on his motorcycle, studying her.
“Why did the Ravagers kidnap you?”
“You don’t have to do this now, if you’re not ready.” Vex cut in.
Angel had no doubts that he would whisk her from someone obviously important in his life without hesitating. A sense of calm settled over her. Vex had her back no matter what. “I’m okay, Vex. The Ravagers need to be stopped.” Vex held out his hand for hers, silently backing her up.
After meshing her fingers with his, Angel took a deep breath and answered the question. As long as she had Vex’s support, she could be brave. “My father is building a large factory in what he thought was a dead area of town. Turns out that location didn’t attract visitors for a good reason.”
“He’s bought into their territory. And let me guess, your father refused to pay them for protection.” Lucien grasped the problem quickly. He wrapped up what had taken Angel days of listening to scraps of information to piece together.
“That’s what I gained from eavesdropping and talking to Viper,” she said.
“How long ago did they grab you?” Lucien asked.
“I don’t know. The Ravagers play games with light and darkness. I lost track of how many days I was there. Over two weeks, I would guess. I haven’t even asked what the date is.”
Vex supplied that for her quickly.
Angel calculated. “Almost three weeks.”
Vex let out a stream of obscenities that made her stare at him in concern. “Your father and ex-fiancé left you in their clutches for three weeks?”
“Almost.”
“Ex-fiancé?” Lucien asked with a raised eyebrow.
“I need to talk to Trevor,” Angel told them. She could never marry a man who hadn’t moved heaven and earth to rescue her. Trevor didn’t love her. Not really. Getting captured by the Ravagers was a drastic way to test his love, but she couldn’t ignore how he’d responded.
If she’d needed proof of how little Trevor cared about her, the kidnapping had revealed how unimportant she was to him.
The more she thought about it, Angel realized how many different ways Trevor could have reacted—lobbying her father to pay the ransom, hiring people to break her out, hell, he could have gone to the police or the FBI.
He’d done nothing. There was no way he loved her. Not truly.
Vex pulled his phone out of his pocket. “Call that worthless jackass now.”
“I want to see Trevor in person.” Angel turned to Lucien. “Is there any other information you need from me? My impression is that Viper holds the Ravagers together by intimidation and force. Everyone is afraid of him. I got the feeling they’d boot him in a moment, but he holds the power.”
“You’re observant. I’m sorry you experienced this. But you escaped, and they lost face. That’s important to people who intimidate others. Let Vex keep you safe,” Lucien said.
“I will. Somehow, we fit together.”
“Daddies find their Little girls in the best and worst situations,” Lucien said, holding Vex’s gaze meaningfully.
“My life for hers,” Vex snarled.
“That’s the way you should feel, brother.” Lucien pulled his helmet on and eased his motorcycle forward without another word.
“Does everyone know I’m Little?” Angel asked, exasperated.
“Only the Devil Daddies. No one else is observant enough to figure it out.”
“Could you take me to Trevor?”
“Not going to happen. He can’t come here either.”
“I think Honey mentioned that she and Razor met at Inferno. Is that location safe there from the Ravagers?”
“They would die the moment they hit the parking lot,” Vex told her.
“That sounds like a good meeting spot then. You’ll know I’m safe, and I can meet Trevor in person.”
Vex fumed and stared off into the distance. Angel suspected he was battling the desire to forbid her from seeing Trevor. She turned in his arms to press her cheek against his powerful chest and squeezed him tight. Standing there quietly, she gave him time to think.
After several long minutes, he said, “Fine.”
“I have one more request.”
“You’re pushing it, Baby girl,” Vex told her gruffly but gently stroked his hands over her back to cup her bottom.
His obvious attraction to her reassured Angel she was doing the right thing.
“Make love to me, Vex.” Angel’s voice trembled a bit from nervousness, but she was proud of herself.
Being kidnapped had erased her ability to make choices.
What she needed was to feel alive. With Vex.
With the man who had claimed her as his Little girl.
He leaned away to study her face. Whatever he saw there convinced him she wasn’t messing with him. His mouth crashed down on hers, demanding her response. Their previous kisses paled compared to this scorching kiss.
Angel tightened her fingers on his shoulders as she rose onto her tiptoes to get closer to him.
Her world shrank around them as he forced her to ignore everything but their exchange and the sensation of his powerful form wrapped around her.
Vex explored her mouth, seductively swirling around her tongue and teasing it into an eager response.
She rubbed her pelvis against his, trying to get closer.
His steely cock thrust hard against her stomach.
Her body answered his arousal with a gush of slick juices.
She squeezed her thighs together, savoring the need that made her come alive.
A playful honk made her jerk back. She’d completely forgotten they were outside on his driveway.
Before she could spot who’d tooted their horn, Vex tossed her up in the air and eased her over his shoulder.
As the world whirled around her, Angel automatically grabbed at his hips for security as he jogged into the house.
His tight butt captured her attention, completely distracting her from any other thoughts.
Slowing at the door, Vex entered, ducking to protect Angel from hitting the doorframe. She smiled at his care but gasped in shock when he spanked her bottom with a sharp smack. “Daddy!”
His low chuckle did funny things to her inside as he headed straight for his bedroom. In a world-tilting move, Vex lowered her from his shoulder onto the bed. Angel pushed herself up to sitting as he knelt between her legs on the carpet. His hands wrapped around her thighs, pinning her in place.
“Baby girl, I’m not a gentle man. I want you to promise me to stop me if I push you too far.”
She nodded and bit her lip as she studied his face.
Angel wasn’t a virgin. While her few sexual encounters were okay, she hadn’t understood the excitement and allure surrounding the intimacy.
Attributing the lack of fireworks to herself a couple of years ago, Angel had decided to wait until she married Trevor. Then it would be more special.
Now, the emotions and desire swirling inside her clued Angel in that she’d never met the right guy. She hadn’t needed more of something—only Vex. Desire burned deep inside her. She craved every look and touch Vex lavished on her.
Her excitement mingled with apprehension. What if he found her lacking? “I… I don’t know what I’m doing, Vex,” she admitted.
Vex’s lips curved in a sexy smile. “That’s the best part about making love, Baby girl. We figure out what pleases each of us and what we need. We’re doing this together. For us and no one else. Okay?”
Angel nodded.
“Use your words, Baby girl. I need to be sure you’ll talk to me if something isn’t right.”
“You’re here with me, Vex. That’s all I need.” Angel smiled at him. Hearing herself say that aloud made the truth resonate inside her. He was the essential component.
“Good girl. Kiss me, Baby girl.”
Angel leaned forward and tangled her fingers in his red hair. She tugged firmly, pulling his face toward her until their lips met. She brushed her lips against his softly at first, then nipped his bottom lip and sucked on it lightly. His groan of arousal sizzled inside her.
She brushed the tip of her tongue across his lips and deepened the kiss when he opened his mouth. He allowed her to set the pace as she explored the warmth inside, savoring his taste. When he chased her tongue into her mouth, Angel sucked on it, loving his flavor.
Vex froze for a millisecond before cupping her skull in his hand and holding her captive as he took over.
Urgent need flowed from him, exciting Angel.
He made her feel wild and sexy like no one ever had.
The silky scratching of his mustache and beard added an extra sensation on her skin. Angel wanted more of everything.
She met each of his kisses with demands of her own as her hands cruised over him, and she explored his hard muscles with her fingertips. Dips and bulges defined his chiseled body, urging her on. Angel grabbed the soft material of his T-shirt and drew it upward. She needed to see him.
Vex reached over his shoulder in a display of thick biceps and triceps to grab a handful of the cotton material.
He ripped the fabric over his head, leaning from Angel only slightly to avoid bumping her.
She admired his toned shape, brushing her hands over his hard strength.
A dusting of red-gold freckles decorated his skin, and immediately she wanted to count them, even if tallying them took her a hundred years.
Angel leaned forward to run her tongue over his chest, connecting the scattered spots. Vex’s hands tightened on her arms as a rumble sounded deep in his throat. Feeling more powerful than ever before, Angel traced his nipple with her tongue and gasped as he bolted back an inch from her.
“Don’t poke the bear, Baby girl,” he warned in a rough voice that betrayed his arousal.
“Maybe I like it,” she replied and attempted to repeat the caress again.
He held her steady and met her gaze fully. “I’m holding on to the last of my restraint, Angel. Push me too far, and I’ll show you everything I’ve dreamed of doing to your sweet body since I found you.”
Her mind raced to process his words. Vex wanted her and had fantasized about her. He was at the end of his control. She could make him lose it.
“I think I’m okay with that… Daddy.”
