Chapter 13 #3

I’d barely gotten to touch her last night but now her cunt was squeezing my finger like she wouldn’t ever let go of it. Annie didn’t even seem to realize she was bucking her hips, urging me to fuck her faster.

I added a second finger, stretching her and her inner walls clamped down as she cried out. “You’re making a fucking mess of my hand and I’ve barely started.”

“Fuck you,” she moaned.

I pulled my fingers out and gave her clit a pinch that made her squeal before plunging them back in. I finger fucked her hard, bringing her right to the edge. Her walls fluttered around me, tightening, getting ready to fall over.

And then I stopped.

I pulled my hand away, leaving her suspended in agonizing, unfulfilled frustration.

Annie’s eyes snapped open.

I held her gaze as I brought my hand to my mouth and dragged my tongue slowly over my fingers, licking her sweetness from them.

Fuck. The taste flooded my system. The urge to shove her legs apart and bury my face between her thighs was a savage ache. I wanted to devour her while she rode my mouth and screamed herself hoarse.

“Why did you stop?” she panted.

“Will you submit to me, Annie?” I demanded, my tone steady despite the lust roaring in my blood. “Will you extend what we do for the cameras into the dark? Just you and me. No strings attached, just fucking.”

She stared at me, her chest rising and falling, warring between her rigid rules and the ache between her legs.

“No,” she whispered.

I lowered my head. I let her feel the heat of my breath, let her anticipate the kiss, and then I denied her that, too.

“Then you don’t get any relief from me, Bishop.”

I pushed myself up off the floor and stepped back.

Annie scrambled away, her hands trembling as she hastily fumbled with the button of her jeans. She dragged herself backward until her shoulders hit the metal base of the workstation, putting as much distance between us as the lab allowed.

I watched her retreat knowing I had her. She was right on the verge of shattering, teetering over the edge of being mine. I could easily cross the room, pull her back down, and force her over that line.

But I wouldn’t. I wanted her to take the final step herself. I wanted her complicit in every step of her ruin.

I stalked toward her and she pressed herself against the workstation harder as I crouched down in front of her.

“Why are you doing this?” she asked, tilting her chin up. Her hands curled into fists and I wondered if she’d actually throw a punch at me. Hopefully not. Broken bones were harder to mend than gashes and she’d definitely break something if she were stupid enough to try.

“I already told you, Annie. I want you.”

Annie leaned forward. “I don’t believe you.”

“I am a liar, Annie. I lie to the League. I lie to the entire goddamn world. But I am not lying about this. I. Want. You.”

She shook her head. “I don’t want the monster. I don’t want what you’re offering. You think you can just break me down and use me to get off, but you will never be able to give me what I want.”

Her words were a desperate attempt to reassert control over a situation she had already lost. I didn’t argue with her. Arguing was inefficient.

I boxed her in slowly, planting my hands on the floor on either side of her hips.

I lowered my head, tracing the delicate curve of her jaw with the tip of my nose.

Annie’s breath hitched, and fanned across my cheek.

I dragged my mouth down the side of her neck, inhaling the intoxicating, sweet scent of her arousal mixed with the sharp tang of fear. I slid my hand up her thigh.

I could feel her trembling but her hands remained curled into fists at her sides, not even attempting to push me away.

I brought my face back to hers, hovering just over her lips. I let my gaze drop to her mouth, parting my own lips just enough to let her feel the promise of a kiss.

Annie’s eyes fluttered shut. A soft, desperate sound slipped from her throat and she leaned forward, chasing the contact, tilting her chin up to close the final distance.

I pulled back and stood up, severing the connection.

Annie’s eyes flew open, wide and disoriented, her lips still parted in a silent plea for the kiss I had just denied her. The flush on her cheeks deepened.

I looked down at her, my expression a mask of arrogant triumph. I had made my point. Her mouth could spout all the rejections she wanted, but her body was already mine.

“Think about the offer, Bishop.”

I turned my back on her, walking over to the primary console. I snatched up my mask, not bothering to look at her again. Looking at her would only feed the hunger I was struggling to force back into its cage.

“I’m going out,” I said, securing the mask. “I have a full schedule of street clashes. When you’re finished with the Syndicate files, Number Three will escort you back to your apartment.”

I walked out of the lab, the doors hissing shut behind me, sealing her inside with the Syndicate files and the reality of her own wet, aching body.

The second the door shut, the timer started in my head.

My blood was a roaring inferno of denied lust and adrenaline.

I needed an outlet before I tore my own lair apart.

The streets were calling, and I was going to revel in the crunch of bone.

I was going to take every ounce of sexual frustration and paint the Financial District with it until my knuckles were bruised.

And then, tonight, I would see her again because Annie Bishop was a people pleaser down to her marrow. Even if she didn’t want to go to Hunter’s party and chance seeing me, she would go because Dawn had asked her to, and Annie was pathologically incapable of letting her friend down.

So she could run for now. But tonight, there would be nowhere left to hide.
