Chapter 7 Blue Looks Good On You

“Hey, we gotta get up,” Vincent says, rubbing his hand on my chest.

The sun is assaulting my eyes. Shit, it must be after eight.

“Good morning,” I say, giving him a kiss on the top of his head.

“Good morning. Time to deal with everything that we don’t want to deal with,” he says, while running his fingers lightly across my chest.

His touch is so soothing that for a moment, I’d forgotten everything that we’re up against. “We can deal with it together. We just need to decide which part we’re dealing with first.”

“I’ll do whatever you think is best. We both know I’m not the tactical one in this”—he pauses and looks up at me—“relationship.”

Somehow, when he said the word relationship, it didn’t make me want to run away like it always has before. “You’re definitely not the tactical one, but you are better with a sword than I am.”

“Well, swords aren’t going to help either of us today. What’s the plan?”

I can’t help but tease him a little bit.

“Now, last night, I asked if one of us would be in charge in this relationship, and you said no one was in charge, but it sounds to me like I’m in charge.

Is that right?” Honestly, I would gladly take orders from him for the rest of my life, but he doesn’t need to know that.

“What if we’re both in charge of different things. You can be in charge of making plans and decisions, and I’ll be in charge of everything else.”

“No.” I laugh. “You’re not gonna be in charge of everything else. For now, the first thing we need to decide is whether we tell our dads or not.”

“Hmm…what do you think?”

Our eyes shift to my door at the sound of two knocks and Tilly’s voice. “Sivan, you awake?”

Shit, it’s Tilly with my breakfast. “Just a minute, Tilly. I’m not dressed yet.”

“Never stopped me before,” she says.

“Just don’t come in. Please leave the tray by the door. I have company and they aren’t decent.”

Vincent’s mouth drops open. “I’m not decent?” he whispers.

I playfully nudge him with my elbow. “Not decent as in not dressed. What the hell did you think I meant?”

“Alright, I’m leaving it by the door!” she shouts back.

Vincent pulls his mouth to the side. “You let Tilly see you naked?”

“No. Don’t be ridiculous. Sometimes she comes in when I’m in bed and not fully dressed. She’s never seen me naked.”

Vincent hops out of bed and walks toward my door.

“What are you doing?” I ask.

Shirtless and wearing my sweatpants, he turns around and looks at me. “I’m grabbing the tray, so you don’t have to get up.”

“You don’t need to do that.”

“It’s fine. I want to.”

My eyes are locked on his ass, as he squats down and grabs the tray from outside the door. I have no interest in whatever Tilly brought me for breakfast right now. I’m only interested in getting him back in this bed with me.

He closes the door and presses his ear against it with his eyes wide. He still hasn’t stood up for some reason.

“What is it?” I ask, quickly walking over. I place a hand on his shoulder and take the tray from him.

“Whose voice is that?” he asks. “I don’t recognize it.”

“Oh, it’s just my dad. His voice always sounds kind of gruff in the morning.”

“Let’s listen,” he whispers and cracks the door back open. “A second ago I heard him say something about Slicer.” His eyes go wide again. “That’s my dad’s voice… Shit, my dad is here, too?”

The sound of Captain Rodrigo’s voice is pretty loud. “Yes, we’ll take care of the wedding first, then captaincy promotions. For Captain Slicer, once we spot his ship, we can pincer him in. They say he only has one ship; we have four here, well, we will have four, once the boys are promoted.”

“Why do you want to move the wedding so fast, Rodri?” my father asks. “We’re in the middle of a crisis. The seas are uneasy, and you’re worried about your son marrying a girl he obviously isn’t interested in? Does he know you want to do it this week?”

“Well, who knows how he really feels? Besides, if I don’t force it, he may change his mind.

Then what? He’s so picky that I’m afraid he won’t ever find someone.

If he’s agreed to marry Harlow, I need to make him move on it.

Not only that, but Sheena is adamant that it goes off without a hitch as soon as possible.

You should’ve heard her. She kept pushing me, ‘you must promise, you must promise.’ All while we were naked, so of course I agreed to it.

Who wouldn’t? No man that I know wouldn’t have agreed to it.

You agree to whatever they want when you’re naked. That can’t be something unique to me.”

“I can’t say a woman has ever asked me for something like that before,” my father says. “What’s the rush though? You don’t think Harlow is pregnant, do you?”

Vincent laughs loudly, forcing me to shut the door.

“Oh my God! What did you laugh like that for? They probably heard you!”

“I don’t care. Who would’ve knocked her up? Me? The stuff those old men come up with. This is what they talk about when they’re together?”

Aww, his cheeks are all red and flushed.

“Calm down. We both know that’s not possible. Besides, you’re not marrying her no matter what your dad says. Now, come on, let’s share my breakfast. You like all this food, too. I can ask for another tray for you if this isn’t enough.”

He’s eyeing the tray while we walk toward my bed. “Is that how much you normally eat in the morning? That looks like five scrambled eggs, and you have fruit and potatoes, too. That’s a lot of food.”

I pick one of the pieces of toast up and wave it. “And toast.” After I take a bite, I hold it toward his mouth and he takes a takes a small bite too, then we sit down on the edge of my bed with the tray in between us.

“Sivan,” my father calls through the door, knocking on it twice.

“Vincent?” Captain Rodrigo says. “Open up.”

I whisper urgently, “Come on. We need shirts!” I walk quickly over toward my dresser and grab two shirts out, then toss one to Vincent, while I put the other one on. “Just a minute, Dad…and, uh, Vincent isn’t here, Captain Rodrigo.”

Captain Rodrigo answers, “The hell he isn’t. We heard him, kid sounds like a donkey when he laughs, I couldn’t mistake his laugh for anyone else. What are you two hiding? Girls? Open the door already.”

“Who’s hiding something?” Vincent asks. “Only you two sounded like you were hiding something.”

I grab his face with both hands and crush our lips together quickly. I have no idea what the rest of this day will hold for us, so before it starts, I need to kiss him just one more time.

“You shouldn’t eavesdrop on conversations!” his father shouts.

Vincent pulls back from the kiss and shouts back, “You two were loud as a foghorn; we didn’t need to eavesdrop! People on the docks probably heard you. Also, don’t go deciding that I’m getting married without asking me, either.” Closing his eyes, he moves in again, and kisses me deep.

“You decided you were getting married! No one else decided that!” his father yells back.

“Open this door!” my father shouts. “What the hell are you two doing?”

Sucking each other’s tongues and feeling each other’s cocks through our sweatpants…

“Don’t make me use Gwendolyn to pop this thing open!” Captain Rodrigo warns.

“You’re not going to use Gwendolyn on my door, Rodri,” my father says. “There is no chance in hell. Take your damn hand off the hilt.”

I’m almost panting when I force myself to break from our kiss. “Let’s not tell them about us right now,” I say, adjusting my dick. “We have a few more days to get everything straightened out.”

Giving each other a nod, I open the door, and our fathers almost tumble inside.

Captain Rodrigo regains his footing and struts in first. He looks around the room, and at the bed, then glances toward the small empty couch, that obviously shows no sign of anyone sleeping on it.

Holy shit, the lube is on the nightstand, the cap is open, and our clothes are strewn around the floor.

It’s so obvious that we had sex in here.

Well, it’s obvious that someone had sex in here, I guess it’s not obvious that we had sex with each other.

“You two”—he points at us—“where the hell did you run off to last night? I don’t see any girls.

You had Harlow hysterical. She was just a sobbing mess.

Told us that the two of you up and left her standing outside of the bathroom.

Why did you do that? Seems kind of strange… ” He’s looking at me for an answer.

“What are you looking at me for? I wasn’t feeling well. We went into the bathroom and Vincent thought I should get some fresh air. We walked toward the ship and fell asleep once we got into my room. What’s so strange about that?”

“Well, I think the strangest thing is the fact that you both left without saying a word…and I mean, you left through the window,” he says.

I really hate the way he’s looking at me right now. It could be that I’m just feeling paranoid, but with the way he’s looking at me, I feel like he knows what’s going on between us.

“Nah, that’s not strange,” my father says. “They sneak out of that bathroom window all the time. Almost every time they’re here.”

Captain Rodrigo shakes his head at my father. “That was before, Ray. Now, Vincent has a fiancée. He has a responsibility to her. He can’t just up and leave her whenever he wants to.”

“Why not?” I ask. “Is there some sort of law that says he lost his freedom when he became engaged? Because if so, I have to say that’s the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard. He can do whatever he wants. He isn’t married to her and even if he was, what would it matter?”
