Chapter 20 #2
“I wouldn’t have had her here had I not heard—” I snapped my mouth shut, not wanting to go into it again.
“I agree. But I want it clear: There’s no way I would have been able to fuck Demi even if I tried.
” She stared at me, searching for a lie that she wouldn’t find, and this time I went to her and moved my hand against her cheek.
She didn’t flinch away, so I brought my mouth close to her ear, “I’m thinking of you all hours of the day. You have to know that, right?”
She scoffed and leaned back. “She was on her knees for you. Don’t act like you weren’t about to screw her.”
I groaned. “I couldn’t even get it up for her, Jas. It was a last-ditch effort—”
“You were hard as a freaking rock.”
“Because you walked in wearing this.” I dragged my finger against the strap. I licked my lips and glanced down at the swell of her breasts against the V-neck. “Were you wearing this the whole night?”
“This being my pajamas?” she asked like I was incompetent.
I tried to exhale some of the white-hot jealousy coursing through me. “Was Archer in the room when you had these on?”
“My pajamas?”
“That’s a damn bra, Viper.” It wasn’t, but it was revealing enough.
“It covers literally my whole stomach. Stop being ridiculous.”
“I hate it,” I grumbled as I moved my lips back and forth over her collarbone and nipped at her skin before licking it better. Her skin wasn’t hot and angry against my lips, but warm like I might be winning her over.
“Well, I hate that your pants were unbuckled when I walked in here,” she retorted petulantly and shoved at my chest, but I stayed right where I was, not giving her an inch of space.
“It was going nowhere.”
She hummed, and just when I thought she might believe me, she asked, “Tell me, how was kissing her?”
My gut twisted at the question. She’d seen that, and she cared enough to ask, meaning that I couldn’t take back another moment of me hurting her. “Not—”
“If you kissed her, you could have done the rest,” she said, her eyes holding mine. She looked away and then up to the ceiling, and her tone changed to resigned. “And you know what? You don’t owe me anything, Knight, but I will fight you every step of the way if you’re kissing women here.”
“Here?” I questioned, confused.
“This is supposed to be the place I have to live for two years, correct?”
“It’s just as much your home as it is mine,” I hurried to remind her.
“Then …” She took a deep breath, like she was closing down all her emotions in one big swoop of oxygen.
“I can be mature if you can. Maybe we shouldn’t tarnish the home with you being a man whore”—I opened my mouth to argue, but she held up her hand—“or me being a whore, while we sleep down the hall from one another.” Her words sounded strained and vulnerable. “Those should be the lines.”
I searched her eyes then, wanting to see her fury and vulnerability, but she’d locked them away. She cared, but she was trying not to.
“Viper,” I said her nickname softly, trying to bring her back to me, but she looked away, shaking her head. “I hurt you, and maybe I wanted to just to see if I could. For that, I’m sorry. I fucked up, okay? I was trying to stop from obsessing over you.”
“Obsessing?” She lifted a brow like I was being ridiculous.
I swore and then admitted, “Yeah, because you’re all I think about now. You run through my head all day, and I swear all I was trying to do was get you out of it. I see you everywhere and it’s driving me crazy, Jas.”
She lifted her chin. “I don’t care about the reasons or your excuses. Never again with me here, Callahan. You understand?”
“How about never again from either of us. Period. Not out of this house, and not in it,” I told her, because I wouldn’t have it any other way now. Not after how much time Archer spent in her room.
“I guess I’ll agree for the two years.”
Two years was starting to seem rather short as she stood there looking flawless in the moonlight.
“Can you agree to throwing away your pajamas after tonight too?”
She rolled her eyes. “What’s happening tonight? You’ve drained me of all my energy. I’m going to bed.”
“My bed first.” I slid my hands to her hips and walked her backward until her legs hit the edge of the bed.
She raised her eyebrows at me and started to chuckle. “You’re unbelievable if you think I’m sleeping with you after what you did tonight, Callahan.” There was my first name. Thank Christ I’d won it back.
“No. I think you’re letting me apologize, though.”
She tilted her head and bit her bottom lip. “How exactly do you intend to do that?” She sat down on the edge of my bed, feeling the sheets beneath her fingers like she was measuring all her surroundings.
I stood over her for a moment, taking in the woman who was owning my life, who was going to be at the center of it for at least two years but probably more, and I smiled because I was starting to see I didn’t want it any other way.
Jasmina was full of fire and recklessness, but she was strong and full of pride too.
I respected her because she respected herself.
I leaned forward to tip her chin up because I wanted to taste the lips I’d been thinking about all day.
Yet, just before I could, she pulled back. “Cally baby.” She smirked at me. “There’s no way you’re going to kiss another woman and think you can kiss me in the dark. You want to apologize, get on your knees.”
She lifted her hips and slid only her shorts off. She didn’t have any underwear on, and I groaned at seeing her slowly spread her legs with all the confidence in the world.
We were playing a dangerous game.
I think we both knew that.
But I wasn’t backing away from it now. I wanted her, and I was taking any scraps she would throw my way, even when she was furious with jealousy.
I kneeled between her legs and grabbed one of her hips so that I could move her forward.
I wanted her pussy on the edge of the bed where I could see it drip for me.
I moved my thumb over her clit, and she gasped.
“You don’t even deserve this,” she whispered, looking down at me.
“And yet you’ll give it to me, because you know it’s what we both want.”
“I hate you for bringing her here.”
“And I hate you for telling me I should while you went to your room with Archer, Viper.”
“Shut up,” she almost whimpered as I rolled over her clit again and again. I saw how her pussy was glistening, how she needed me to take care of her, but I needed to hear it. “Tell me this is what you wanted the whole night.”
She shook her head. “I just need to get off.”
“Bull. You need me to get you off, Jas. Say it.”
Her hips were rocking and her eyes shut tight, but she didn’t say what I wanted. So, I lowered my head to where I wanted to be.
I flicked my tongue over her clit and then dragged it down to taste her pussy again.
Wet. Tight. And still the sweetest cunt I’d ever had. I groaned as I buried my tongue in her.
The moans as her hands flew into my hair were enough of a sign to me that she wanted this just as much as I did. Both my hands gripped her hips and pulled her closer, so I could taste her deeper.
She cried my name over and over to a rhythm my tongue found, and then I was sliding one hand to work her clit too. She was close, rocking against my face faster and faster, but I needed more of her.
I lifted her from the bed, putting her legs over my shoulders, her thighs right up against my ears, and lowered myself onto the ground, lying flat on my back with her body above me.
She hesitated putting all her weight on my face even though it’s what I wanted.
“Give me all of you, Jas.”
“Callahan, I’m not going to suffocate you—”
“If I die, it’s where I want to be for what I deserved, right? Let me have your pussy the way I want it, and give me it. Sit on my face, Viper. I want to drown in you.”
She bit her lip, but there was only a moment’s hesitation before she gave in to her desire and my command.
She bore down on me, and I growled as I got enveloped by her scent, her body, the most intimate part of her.
I was lost to the sea of her, then. Lost, and didn’t want to find a way home. I lapped and licked at her as she rolled into my tongue. I gripped her ass, squeezing her globes tight, trying to get even more of her.
I watched as she brought her hands up, up, up to her hair, and then her pussy tightened around me as she screamed my name in the dark.
She was beautiful, flawless, unhinged, and free in that moment. It was the way I wanted her, the way she should always be.
Right then, I realized I wanted her to be screaming my name not just in the dark, but in the light of day for everyone to hear instead.
Yet, before I could make sense of it all, Jasmina came down from her high above me.
Her eyes may have been hooded and her body relaxed, but she pushed herself to roll off my face, wasting no time getting away from me.
She didn’t even so much as look at me as she grabbed her shorts and slid them back on.
I was too overstimulated, too feral for her, too confused at my feelings to move from the floor.
She looked down at me, her hands on her hips, and said, “If you really want me as your wife through and through, Callahan, I mean it when I say, you better earn me. Respect is a two-way street, and I encourage you not to forget that.”
She turned on her heel and left me lying on the floor like a dog in the dark.
Karma.
She was a damn viper, but I liked the bite.
