36. Earthworms
Earthworms

An earthworm slides over my lips and I bite him. It is a reflex, one I hope I will soon be too weak to have.
The bugs and creatures of the dirt keep me alive.
Soon I am like them—blind, knowing only the vibrations of movement through the soil.
It won’t be long now.
