Chapter 18 #2

I hung up the call just as Chance walked into the kitchen.

When the alert went off, I almost broke my finger with how hard I was trying to open the message.

At first it was just a video of the front door of Nessa’s apartment then I saw her Jeep come into view.

The time stamp on the video was ten minutes until five.

She hopped out of the car, in good spirits as she walked to her doom.

When that nigga’s face popped on the video, I had to contain myself because I wanted him bad.

She disappeared into the house as I continued to watch.

Out of nowhere a person dressed in black with a mask made their way towards the door.

I noticed that they didn’t knock but instead opened the door as if they knew it would be unlocked.

A few minutes passed before Desmond and the masked man carried an unconscious Nessa out.

They placed her in her Jeep before driving off.

“That nigga had an accomplice!” I roared as my chest heaved up and down.

“Nas, the girls are sleep and the last thing they need to do is see you in this state,” Chance reasoned.

“You’re right. Wait, I got that nigga!”

“How?”

“They took her car! Let me make some calls, but you prep us to slide on them niggas.”

When he walked off my first call was to Onstar.

I’d forgotten to download the app and set all that shit up, so I could track her car myself.

Once I got the location of the Jeep, my next call was Yas.

With Nina back in PR there weren’t too many people I trusted with my child right now.

The last thing I wanted to do was tell her that Nessa was grabbed but I had no choice.

“Nas, what’s goin’ on?” Yas interrogated as soon as she walked into the house.

“You called me askin’ ‘bout Nessa yesterday and when I call her it’s goin’ straight to voicemail.

Then the next day you callin’ me over here to watch the girls but I can hear the distress in yo’ voice. Tell me what’s goin’ on please.”

“Listen, I’ma tell you but I need you to promise to keep it together,” I instructed as I looked her in the eyes. She nodded her head in agreement as the tears the welled up in her eyes threatened to fall but didn’t. “That nigga Desmond snatched up Nessa with some unknown accomplice.”

“Oh my God. Is she ok?”

“I don’t know but I have a lead. You’re the only person I trust right now to watch the girls. We ‘bout to go to the location and helpfully that be the end of this.”

“Ok, I got the girls. Nas bring my girl home, please.”

“I promise that’s my only concern. I’ll be back.”

As we drove to the location provided, I couldn’t wait to unload a click in them niggas.

When we parked down from the scrapyard I rolled down my mask as Chance did the same before getting out.

As we crept towards the business, I kept my head on a swivel in case we were walking into a trap.

Once we hopped over the fence, I noticed Nessa’s Jeep parked by the small office.

I made sure the coast was clear before I kicked the door off the hinges.

There was an old head slumped with a bullet hole in the middle of his forehead.

“Fuck it’s a dead end!” I snapped as I noticed the keys to her Jeep in front of him.

My eyes moved to the phone that sat by them with a note that said, ‘call me for yo’ bitch’.

I picked up the phone before calling the only number in the call log.

Soon as the call connected I wasted no time.

“Desmond I’m goin’ to fuckin’ kill you.”

“Nigga yo’ ass ain’t gonna do shit if you want yo’ bitch back alive.”

My jaw clenched as I did all I could to keep it together. With him having Nessa and threatening her life had me in a fucked up position. I couldn’t allow my impulsive behavior to cost her and our child their lives.

“Yeah, I got yo’ ass by the balls,” he taunted, causing my jaw to clench again. “If you want that to continue to be the case you’ll continue to be a good boy and listen. Since Mr. Spend That want his bitch he’s gonna get three million dollars and wait for me to send the address to drop it off too.”

“I need to know she’s still alive.”

“You can’t just take my word that she is?”

“Nigga you can’t be serious. Either let me talk to her so I know she’s ok. Then I’ll get yo’ money no problem.”

“Ok, Mr. Spend That,” he agreed before there was a brief pause.

“N-N-Nas, I’m scared,” Nessa whimpered in my ear causing my heart to break in a million pieces.

“Nessa I promise you’re goin’ to be okay, baby. Remember I got you always. You trust that right?”

“Yeah, I do.”

“Good, just hold on. I’m comin’ for you.”

“Yeah yo’ ass better be comin’ with my three million too. We’ll be in touch.”

“Man, fuck!” I yelled before unloading my clip into the already dead nigga. Somebody had to feel me and since I couldn’t get to Desmond this was the next best thing. Once I was finished I turned to face Chance. “She’s still alive and he wants three million dollars.”

“Let’s go get the money so we can bring her home.”
