Chapter 182

Face had called for the tenth time. I wasn’t answering until I got good and ready.

It had been days since I’d snatched his phone, and he still wasn’t talking to me, for real.

And I was tired of graveling. If he didn’t want me, then I’d have to accept that.

In the meantime, I figured that I’d start spending my time doing my own thing.

I’d also had been checking out spaces for a salon, as I considered a life where I was single.

Ironically, the minute I wasn’t sitting at home, begging for Face’s attention, he wanted to blow my phone up. And I despised those type of niggas. Only wanted a bitch when she’s gone. Fuck that. If he could spend his days ignoring me, then so could I.

“Yeah, Face can throw down,” Soya acknowledged. “It’s funny, because he’s so different from who I used to think he was.”

I raised a brow. “Who did you used to think he was?”

“Shit, I thought that he was just another hood nigga with money. I mean, the nigga literally got a tat above his eye. And that image just screams dangerous to me. But he’s so family oriented.

Makes all of us feel so welcomed. And I love the way he had you redecorate everything to make the house feel more like it’s yours too.

He don’t never act like a dictator, like he just runs shit.

He really lets you run that house, on the cool. ”

“Yeah.” Casey nodded. “I agree.” I rolled my eyes.

Soya shook her head, but didn’t say anything, as she was fully aware of the beef I had with Face at the time. But that wasn’t everybody’s business, and I wasn’t foolish enough to vent amongst associates.

“What’s up, Casey, man?” Some random dude asked, as he came strolling down the sidewalk.

“Nothing much,” Casey nonchalantly responded, before gazing down at her phone.
