30. Enzo #2

In and out.

Slow.

Even.

“Take it, Rosie,” Fox instructed hoarsely. “You’re doing such a good job.”

“I’m going-I’m going to come.” She let out a cry, her release gushing from her, satisfying me in the most insane way. There was just something about getting her off that fucked my head up more. It made me more possessive of her. More feral for all that was her.

I removed the device from her body, watching as she sagged against Fox, who cradled her to his chest.

They looked good together. Like little puzzle pieces. I cast a look to Cole, who was stroking his cock lazily, to E, who was still recording the session on his camera.

The night was good. Way too good. We needed this.

From my spot on the floor. I watched Fox slowly work his vibrator into her body, talking her through it in a low voice the entire time, until she was coming undone on his lap, her body damp with sweat.

She’d had enough.

I didn’t mind finishing myself off later in the shower.

Cole grunted somewhere in the background, letting us all know he wasn’t waiting for shit and had probably come all over his abdomen. Moments later, he left the room, solidifying my guess.

“She needs to rest,” I said, studying Rosalie as her lashes fluttered.

“I’ll take her to bed,” Fox replied, shifting to stand.

“Sorry,” she mumbled out, reaching for me. “I can’t hang like I used to.”

I kissed her palm before her lips. “It’s OK, baby. Rest up. We had a good day.”

She smiled back at me sleepily before E kissed her. Fox left the room, clearly meeting Cole along the way because I could hear Cole cooing to Cotton again and their footsteps on the stairs as they went to her room.

E and I quickly cleaned up before settling on the couch.

“That’s going to be a hell of a video,” I mused, glancing at him.

He chuckled softly. “Yeah. Spank bank material.”

I nodded. He wasn’t wrong there.

“I’m glad you got your camera back out. It’s been too long.”

“It has.” He looked at the camera and grew quiet for a moment. “It feels good. Maybe I’ll go out tomorrow and take some photos. Depends on my mood.”

“Go anyway,” I urged. “You’re always in the basement.”

He nodded but didn’t say anything for a long time.

“Do you think Anson is going to come back?” he finally asked.

I tensed. “I don’t know, E. Maybe it’s for the best. They were getting too close.”

“I know they were, but I wouldn’t have cared, you know? I like him.”

I said nothing, already knowing that. It didn’t matter anyway because Fox and Cole came back into the room, Cole at least wearing a pair of his dark pajama bottoms.

Fox settled in a chair, and Cole took the loveseat.

“I need to talk to you guys,” Fox said, clearing his throat.

“Don’t fucking ruin the evening, Evans,” Cole warned. “It’s been a damn good day.”

I frowned at Cole before looking to Fox. “What’s up, man?”

He fidgeted for a moment before clearing his throat again. “I’ve not been honest with you guys. While I was away, I did some thinking, and it’s only right that I come out with it.”

Cole visibly tensed, and E sat forward. I breathed in deeply, really fucking hoping he wasn’t going to tell us he met up with Anson and fucked our girl with him. I’d lose my damn mind. I knew I told Rosalie anything for her, but fuck, that sort of shit couldn’t just be sprung on a man.

“My father,” Fox started. “Is Matteo’s older brother. Santino De Santis.”

The room fell silent at his words.

Cole finally snapped his attention to me from Fox. “Enzo…?”

I blinked several times before getting my wits about me. I’d completely blanked out, stunned at the revelation. “OK.”

“OK?” Cole looked from me to Fox and back again. “What do you mean OK?”

“You can’t choose your family,” I said. “I, uh, I’m surprised. That’s all.”

“When did you find out?” E asked.

“He told me during the week I was gone to New York. I’m sorry I didn’t tell you guys. Honestly, it doesn’t matter to me?—”

“You’re an heir.” I looked at him. “A rival. An… enemy.”

“I’m not,” Fox said fiercely. “My father left. I have no intentions of coming forward to claim shit.”

“It doesn’t matter.” I shook my head. “If Matteo finds out, he’ll put a fucking hit on your head.

I personally don’t give a fuck if you try to come for me after taking your rightful spot, but I do give a shit if someone comes for you over this.

If Matteo finds out, shit’s over. He won’t hesitate. Look what he’s done to Dominic.”

Fox licked his lips. “Matteo knows.”

I stared at him in stunned silence. “How the fuck did he find out?”

“I’m just that unlucky,” Fox said with a sad smile. “Or stupid. I went out with Anson that night. Matteo called and wanted to see him. I could have come home, but I didn’t. Call it morbid curiosity. I went to the club with him. I stayed downstairs at the bar. Matteo saw me. Decided to say hi.”

“Fucking hell,” Cole shouted, glaring at him. “You could have been killed! What the fuck were you thinking? You had no one there to watch your back?—”

“I had Anson.”

“Oh, fuck him,” Cole snarled. “You are fucking stupid. It was probably all part of the plan. Get you vulnerable so they could take your ass out.”

“It wasn’t like that,” Fox argued.

“What was it like?” I demanded.

E hadn’t said a word and simply sat listening to everything. That was typically his thing. Listen. Watch. Overthink. Fucking hell. Worry.

“I don’t know.” Fox tugged at his black hair. “It was… fine.”

“Fine?” I raised my brows at him.

“He didn’t kill me, OK?”

“Great. So did he say he was cool with an heir showing up then?” Cole shook his head in disgust. “You guys have cookies and tea? Mani and pedi together?”

“No,” Fox snapped at him. “I told him I wasn’t interested in being an heir and had no desire to come for the position. Anson’s position was safe, should he want it. Which he doesn’t.” Fox shot Cole a pointed look.

Cole rolled his eyes and muttered, “Yeah, right.”

“You and Anson are cousins,” E said, his voice soft. “Family. You found out and started to get closer.” E crinkled his brows and looked at Fox. “Does Rosalie know you and Anson are cousins? That your father is Matteo’s brother?”

For once, E’s overthinking was doing something useful.

I looked to Fox, awaiting his answer.

“She knows,” he said.

“She’s kept it a secret with you?” I hated that. I hated what he’d done, and she’d gone along with it. They were always close because of their childhood friendship, but this just felt wrong. We should have been told.

“She kept it a secret because I asked her. She’s been on my ass about telling you guys for a long time now, so don’t drag her in on this and get pissed off,” Fox said, giving me an angry look.

“I guess I’m upset because you didn’t tell us. Why didn’t you tell us when you found out?” I asked.

“I was trying to process it,” he muttered. “I wasn’t expecting it. It blindsided me. Then I thought you’d be pissed and think I would betray you and try to take my position as heir to the De Santis syndicate. I’d be an inside man and ruin what you’ve built.”

“Do you really think so little of me?” I shook my head at him. “Do you think I don’t fucking love you, Fox?”

He stared at me, his blue eyes wavering. “I don’t know what to think anymore. Everything seems so fucked up. This wasn’t what I wanted.”

“Me marrying Rosalie.”

“Man, stop.”

“But it’s true,” I pressed. “You wanted it to be you. I already know you have the ring and spoke to her father about it.”

Fox visibly swallowed before looking away.

“Fox. Talk to me.”

“What do you want me to say?” He looked back at me.

“Huh? Yeah, man. You know I wanted it to be me even though we agreed it wouldn’t be anyone.

But I thought about it. I thought about how that was unfair to her.

What if she wanted to marry and have a family?

I’m selfish and wanted to give that to her.

As for this family shit with my father and De Santis, when I tell you I don’t want it, I mean it.

I didn’t want to make our shit more complicated than it was.

Rosalie pointed out that it would hurt in the long run if I kept it from you guys.

So here it is. I’m putting it all out on the table. ”

“Do you have more secrets you maybe should tell us?” Cole prompted.

“No.” Fox’s Adam’s apple bobbed. “That’s it.”

I sighed and rubbed my eyes, feeling that he wasn’t telling us everything but knowing that pushing him on it wouldn’t yield better results. But who knew? Maybe I was just paranoid since he’d kept such a big bit of information away from us for so long.

“So you and Ass Hat are fucking related,” Cole grumbled, looking disgusted. “I guess it explains why you’re both so disgustingly pretty.”

Fox shot Cole an eye roll.

“What does this mean?” E asked, looking from Fox to me. “He’s also Dom’s cousin. Does this change anything?”

“Only if Fox wants it to,” I murmured. “I love him even if he does have De Santis blood. God knows Dominic is a good one.”

“It doesn’t change anything but my heritage,” Fox said fiercely. “I’m still a horseman. I’ll die one.”

“You’re not going to die on us,” I answered back. “I won’t let you. It would fucking gut us and absolutely kill Rosalie. So don’t talk like that. Got it? I’ll protect all of us.”

“Enzo, man.” Fox sighed. “You know how shitty things can get?—”

“I will protect you,” I said, pounding my chest. “You’re a horseman. My brother. One of my best friends. And our girl loves you. I would sooner die than let you leave her. Don’t ever say that shit again, do you understand?”

Fox stared me down for a moment before nodding.

“As for me marrying Rosalie, once it’s done, I swear to you that we will have a ceremony if she wants one, and we’ll all marry her. I promise you that, brother.”

“Really?” Fox widened his eyes.

“Yes. I swear. She was yours before she was ours,” I whispered. “I haven’t forgotten. I would never take her from you.”

“Do you really swear it?”

“With everything that I am,” I said evenly. “All of us. All in. Right?” I looked around at the guys.

“Abso-fucking-lutely,” Cole said immediately.

“I want what Rosalie wants,” E answered.

I looked to Fox. “You still in, brother?”

“You fucking know I am. Until the last breath leaves my lungs,” he said softly.

“No takebacks.” I settled back in my seat and exhaled. “We’re good. Everything is still good.”

The room was quiet for a moment before Cole finally spoke. “So, who is going to suck my dick tonight?”

“Oh, for fuck’s sake.” E threw a pillow at him, making Cole laugh loudly and throw it back. The two proceeded to chuck pillows at each other.

I gave Fox a slight incline of my head, letting him know everything was good. It was fine. We’d make it through whatever shit came our way with this. I wasn’t going to let anything happen to him or any of the guys. I’d do whatever I had to in order to prevent it.

He gave me a sad smile in return before he biffed Cole in the face with the pillow he caught from E.

I laughed and joined in.

And when it was time for bed, I excused myself and went to the office and picked up my phone.

It rang three times before my father’s voice came on the line.

“Dad, I really need your help,” I choked out into the phone.

“What happened?”

So I launched into telling him what I knew.

Deep down, I knew it was the start of something I wouldn’t be able to handle on my own. So this was me trying to fix it.

I kept the faith that I wouldn’t make it worse.
