Chapter 21 #2
“Yeah? What else is big, sugar?”
She snorts, and I push against her, my cock already hard, pressing into her belly.
“You have a big heart.”
I shift her up and press the crown of my dick at her entrance, then slip right inside, and she lets out the sexiest little gasp as I fill her up .
“Anything else?”
“You have a huge cock.”
“Mm, that’s what I wanted to hear.”
She rolls over me and starts to ride me. My hands span over her waist and hips, helping her find a rhythm, and she shivers, hitting just the right spot.
“You love this huge cock, don’t you?”
“Hell yes, I do.”
“Christ, you’re amazing.” I sit up and glide my hands down to her ass, lifting her up and down on my shaft. “You’re mine, Harper. Do you understand?”
She bites my lip and then nods. “And you’re mine, Blake.”
There is nothing more adorable than Harper waking up in the morning. She wakes slowly. First, her legs start to move, stretching out. Then she wiggles her fingers and toes.
She still hasn’t opened her eyes.
She lets out a little squeak as she stretches her arms above her head, and then one eye slits open to take in her surroundings.
“Good morning, baby.”
I kiss her cheek, and she hums. No words for my girl yet.
“Did you sleep well?”
She nods and then curls into me, clinging to me.
So I kiss her head and breathe her in.
“I’m going to run down and get us coffee.”
“Mm-hmm.”
Her hands find my torso, and she scowls. “Dressed.”
“Yep. I can’t go to the coffee shop naked, baby.”
She lets out a long breath and blinks both eyes open. “Thank you.”
“For what?”
“The coffee.” She kisses my chin before burying herself back under the blankets.
I grab my wallet and room key, and leave our room, making sure the door is secure behind me. Not that anything could possibly hurt her here.
I hear another door open and look up to see Brooks headed my way. If I’m not mistaken, he looks like he might crack a smile.
This resort has been good for all of us.
“Coffee?” I ask him.
“Hell yes,” he replies.
We walk shoulder to shoulder down the hallway to the stairs that lead to the first floor.
“I like Harper,” he says.
“I do, too.”
“Her family seems nice. Her brother, Xander, is a hockey player. We talked about hockey all damn night.” Brooks is a big hockey fan. Always has been. “And it’s good to see Tucker and Remington. Holden.”
“So you’re glad you came.”
“Yeah. It’s cool.”
I smile over at him. “I think Ava’s single?— ”
“No.”
I laugh as we descend the stairs.
“She’s beautiful”—I’m ticking the list off on my fingers—“has a career, comes from a good family, seems to like her hair pulled?—”
“Shut up,” Brooks says, shaking his head. “You’re ridiculous.”
With a laugh, we turn the corner to the lobby, and both stop dead in our tracks.
Because just ahead, at the coffee shop where there’s a cooler for grab-and-go meals, is a woman bent over that cooler, filling it with to-go boxes.
Brooks would recognize that ass anywhere.
Juliet straightens to grab more boxes from her cart, and when her eyes shift over to us, she also stops, and tears fill her pretty blue eyes.
She clears her throat.
“Hi, guys. Um, I’m just about done here. I can go?—”
“You’re good at that,” Brooks finally says, and I close my eyes on a sigh.
“What?” Her eyebrows pull together in a frown.
“Running away,” he says. His voice is so hard and cold, and I hear the hurt in it. I fucking hate this. “You’re good at that.”
“Brooks, if you’d give me just two minutes to explain?—”
“I don’t want an explanation,” he says, his hands fisting at his sides.
“I don’t want anything from you. Not anymore.
Congratulations on the new restaurant. I’m happy for you, Jules.
But you and I won’t be talking. I won’t be popping by for lunch.
And if you need to have your car worked on, there’s a garage in Silver Springs. ”
“Brooks,” she begins, but he shakes his head.
“Don’t ever say my name again.”
Brooks turns and walks away, and Juliet deflates in front of me.
“I was hoping that would go better,” she murmurs as she wipes a tear from her cheek. “God, he still looks amazing.”
“He’ll be out on the patio,” I tell her. “Maybe try again.”
She looks longingly toward the way that Brooks left. “It’s no use.”
“Maybe you need to be the one to pursue him. To make him feel like you need to talk to him. If you run away now, I can guarantee you there will never be another chance, Jules. Go out to the patio.”
She looks at her cart.
“I’ve got that, and the cart will be here when you’re done.”
Juliet takes a deep breath and then nods. “Thanks, Blake.”
“Good luck.”
Once I’ve set the rest of her meals in the cooler, I move the cart out of the way and order our coffees. I also grab a couple of breakfast burritos and return to the room.
When I walk inside, my girl is still sleeping, and her phone is lighting up like the Fourth of July.
“I smell coffee,” she mutters from under the pillow.
“Your nose is right.” I sit on the side of the bed next to her hip and pass her a cup. “I got you a breakfast burrito, too.”
“Because breakfast is our thing.” She sips her coffee, watching me. “I love that it’s our thing because coffee is life.”
“Your phone is busy.”
She frowns over at it and sees that she has some missed texts and calls.
“Oh shit, Greg.” She snatches her phone up and opens the messages, then breathes a sigh of relief. “Ava and Billie were wondering if I want to do yoga. Which I totally do. But Jesus, if I don’t respond after one text, don’t blow up my phone and give me heart failure.”
She’s tapping fast on her screen, then sets it aside and watches me. “Why do you look perfect in the morning, and I look like a troll who’s about to make you solve a riddle?”
With a laugh, I pull her onto my lap and kiss her. “You always look perfect, sugar.”
“Not even a little. But damn, I slept good last night. What kind of beds are these? I need one.”
“I’ll ask Connor.” We both sip our coffee. “So you’re doing yoga?”
“Yeah. Wanna come? It’s down by the pool in thirty minutes.”
“I could do some yoga.” And I can watch my girl doing some yoga. “Want to find a hiking trail later?”
“Have you even met me? Of course, I do. This is the best vacation ever.”
