Blake

-You bastard! Let go of me!

-No!

-She needs me!

I wrestle with Anthony holding him by the shoulders. I just gave him a tackle that, although it knocked him to the ground, I don't think it will last. The devil has the strength of a raging bull.

-She needs to be left alone.

-How did you do it, you lying piece of shit? I should have smashed your face in a long time ago.

The elevator bell rings in the distance. Sofia is no longer in the hallway. I take a leap to set the bully free.

-I'm going to cut you into little pieces.

-We can start right now if you want. I'm not going to hide. I'll do everything for her.

-You're crazy," he says, getting to his feet.

-Go. Run after her like her lapdog. He continues to feed her fears.

The man turned around with a desire to choke me. My nerves are also in need of a good fight.

-What the fuck are you insinuating?

-I say that if you love her you should help her leave the past behind and not cover her with a cloak in front of what she doesn't want to see. She has to accept the woman she is today. She has to allow herself to be happy, but for that she needs to suffer.

-You're a piece of shit," the wrinkled eyes spit disgust.

-You may be right, but this shit loves her so much that she needs to accept herself. Sofia needs to bury her mother and understand that she is beautiful enough to make even this idiot in front of you fall in love with her. If you continue to wrap her under your protective blanket you won't allow her to progress.

Anthony staggers before leaning against the wall.

-And that's coming from you, the one who lied to him about a past inheritance.

His voice sounds calmer. At the risk of losing my neck I position myself next to him.

-You know perfectly well that his walls are resistant. I fought and got him to accept his feelings for me, but I will never gain his trust without trampling on his mother's memory. He thinks he is incapable of holding those he loves.

-She thinks you don't love her. That you approached her out of compassion.

-She knows perfectly well how much I love her. She just needs time to understand.

-Or to forget you? You run the risk that I will leave you.

-Not if you help me.

-And why do you think I would do that?

-Because you love her almost as much as I do.
