24. Fake Sex

FAKE SEX

Lorelei

Shit. After the debacle at the house we broke into and Brock’s threatening visit, I couldn’t let Axel take the blame for this one. I’ve got this. Pushing around Ax’s hulking frame, I staggered forward, teetering on my stilettos.

From the corner of my eye, I caught Axel’s fingers flying over his cell. Really? He had to answer a text, right now?

Focusing on the matter at hand, I called on my best impression of Greta Battenberg after her nightly martinis. I shuffled toward Vaughn, batted my lashes, and curled an arm around the back of his neck.

“Oh, hey you.” I booped his nose, then dragged my finger down his lips.

“This is a fan-fucking-tastic party.” I slurred every word, drawing out each syllable as I continued a trail down his chest. “This had to be your doing, wasn’t it, Vaughn?

I don’t remember the parties being this fab when Bass was the boss… ”

Vaughn’s fingers curled around mine before I hit his belt buckle, and he pushed me out to arm’s length, clearing his throat.

“What the hell are you all doing in my office?” He glared over my head at Axel and Micah.

“Sorry, my bad,” I continued the charade, jutting out my bottom lip and remaining between him and my boyfriend. “I was looking for the ladies’ room, and I just stumbled in here. What is in that punch you’re serving downstairs? It is strong!”

“Into my locked office?” His gaze settled on Ax once again as he arched an eyebrow.

“You must have left it open,” Axel responded before reaching for me and tucking me into his side. “Lore is pretty skilled with her hands, but I doubt even she could pick a locked door.”

I stared up at my boyfriend all googly eyed. It was starting to become much too easy.

“I guess we’ll check the cameras and see…”

Oh, shit cameras? What kind of secret information did Vaughn hide in this office that needed twenty-four-hour surveillance?

“Is that really necessary?” Micah’s voice went up an octave or two.

Way to keep your cool, dude.

Vaughn’s wary gaze skimmed over the newest addition to the fraternity. “What are you doing with these two, anyway, Micah?”

“He wasn’t with us, you paranoid bastard,” Ax snarled.

“Micah was helping me find the bathroom,” I blurted. “I bumped into him in the hall.”

Micah jerked his thumb at me. “I was trying to get her out of here.”

“Then I showed up.” Axel released me and folded his thick arms across his chest. “You got any more questions, Vaughn?”

“No, I don’t, Vanderhart, because I can get all the answers I need once I head down to the basement and check the video archives.”

“Have fun with that.” Axel snorted. “Scanning hours of video footage seems way more entertaining than indulging in the party in the VIP room.” He laced his fingers through mine and tugged me toward the door. “Let’s go, blondie. There’s a special room I want you to see.”

“Mmm, I can’t wait.”

Vaughn spun around and headed us off at the door. “I guess you’re not even trying to keep this thing between you a secret anymore?”

I tried to remind myself I was supposed to be wasted, tempering the flare of anger. “It’s not a s—secret,” I slurred. “I broke up with that asshole Brock Haversham.”

“That’s not what I heard.”

“Just mind your own fucking business, Vaughn,” Ax growled, towering over his fraternity brother.

I squeezed his hand and leaned into him. “Come on, let’s get out of here. I want to fuck you so bad right now.”

Axel’s nostrils flared and for a second, I thought I saw real lust igniting in those brilliant blue orbs. Turning me toward the door, he escorted me out despite the nerves churning in my gut.

If Vaughn got a hold of the video, he’d know we were lying. I wasn’t scared of the frat boy, but what if he told Brock… The last thing I wanted was Axel in my almost-fiancé’s crosshairs.

Micah hurried out behind us, disappearing into the crowd before I could ask what the hell he was doing in that office.

Ax never stopped until we reached the VIP room, and the sound of my pounding heart was swallowed up by the symphony of moans.

“Ax, the video—”

He pressed his finger to my mouth, cutting me off. “Not yet.”

Then he hauled me around another corner.

We passed occupied room after room complete with two-way mirrors.

I couldn’t help but sneak a peek at the scandalous sexploits going on just inches away.

The moaning echoed through the corridors, the sound of flesh grinding against flesh sending heat racing between my legs.

Ax finally stopped in front of a door and unlike the other rooms, no darkened glass peered into the inside.

He jerked it open and led me across the threshold, slamming the door behind us.

A dim bulb flickered on, and warm light oozed from a floor lamp in the corner.

Thick, dark curtains were draped around the room, probably to muffle groans of pleasure, and a small loveseat sat in the corner.

The sound of sex still lingered in the air, but with the door closed, it was nowhere near as loud. Or tempting.

Axel sank into the deep crimson velvet couch with a huff and ran his hand through his hair. “That was way too fucking close,” he ground out.

“But what about the video?”

He flashed me his phone and a wicked grin. “I had Gage take care of it. By the time Vaughn gets down there, the hard drive will have been wiped.”

“That’s who you were texting when Vaughn walked in?”

He nodded, a wry smile curling his lips.

“You’re pretty devious.” I crept closer and slid onto the plush cushion beside him. With the wall at my side, I could clearly make out moans through the thin plaster. I folded my legs and clenched my thighs to smother the slowly building heat.

“Me? What about you? That drunk routine was pretty convincing… The way you batted those lashes at him—” He cut himself off and ran his tongue across his bottom lip. “No wonder you’re so good at this whole fake relationship thing.”

“Right,” I murmured, my eyes locked on that full, pillowy lip. God, what was wrong with me? Was I leaning in? There was something about being so close to the ongoing orgy that had my hormones in overdrive. Clearing my throat, I sat back, putting some distance between us. “So what’s your excuse?”

“Come again?” He angled his body toward me, eliminating the space I’d just created.

“I think you’ve been pretty convincing as a fake boyfriend. How are you able to pull it off?”

He shrugged, and a lop-sided smile melted across his face. “I guess you make it easy.”

“Yeah, you do too. I honestly thought faking it would be so much harder but—”

“It feels natural.” His bright blue eyes seared to mine, and his head tipped closer.

“Yeah…”

A long minute of silence dragged on, only the steady groans, grunts and muffled cries echoing around us, as we remained locked in each other’s gazes.

No one moved. I could have sworn I wasn’t even breathing.

There was something in the air; it had to be, because I could have sworn I saw lust flare in Axel’s gaze again.

It wasn’t that hard to believe, after all.

You’d have to be a nun not to be affected by what was happening all around us.

The atmosphere grew charged, and I swallowed hard as the moans from the couple, or maybe even the thruple, on the other side of the wall reached a fevered pitch.

“Well,” I rasped out. “It sounds like someone’s getting off over there.”

“At least someone is…” Ax’s jaw snapped shut. A rueful chuckle spilled out as he crossed his legs, drawing my attention to his bulging erection. “Sorry, I’m dying over here.”

Holy shit. “Oh,” I squeaked.

“Yeah, you can say I’ve been a little hard up since I ended things with Cordi, and we began this whole fake relationship thing. It’s too bad there’s no fake sex.”

I choked on a laugh, the weird noise bubbling up beyond my control. Why didn’t I think of that? I hadn’t even considered how hard it must have been for him to stick to the rules. “Damn, sorry, Ax. I guess I didn’t think about that part of it.”

He waved a dismissive hand. “Nah, it’s fine. My right hand and I are just getting super close, if you know what I mean.” He dragged his hand through his hair, grinning. “It builds character, right?”

I threw my head back and laughed, a real cackle this time, and Ax buckled over joining me, a second later.

“We need to get out of here,” I wheezed out once the laughter had finally died out.

“Yeah, we do.” Ax held out his hand and pulled me to my feet just as the door swung open.

Killian and Lexi stumbled in, mouths sealed together, hands traveling places I’d never unsee.

“Hey! This room’s occupied,” I blurted.

Lexi tore her mouth free of Killian’s, her cheeks flushed. “Oh, shit, sorry! We didn’t mean to interrupt.”

Killian’s dark gaze razed over us. “You guys were actually in here fucking?”

Ax messed with his collar before curling his arm around my shoulders and tucking me into his side. “Just finished actually.”

I ran my hand through my hair, trying to achieve the just-been-fucked look. “Best orgasm of my life,” I added. “Just when I think it can’t get any better.” I stared up at Ax, and a grin split his lips.

Killian stalked closer, curious gaze darting between us before settling on his roommate. “How come you never bring Lorelei to our dorm?”

“Because you and Lexi are there. And it would be weird…”

“We’re not there much,” said Lexi. “We’re mostly on the boat, so don’t not come because of us.”

“Yeah, what she said.” Killian ticked his head at his precious Lexi. “As a matter of fact, why don’t we all go out together this week?”

“What?” I squeaked.

“I don’t know about that Kill—”

He lifted his hand, cutting Axel off. “I was wrong, okay? It’s clear you two really are together, and since Axel is my best friend, we need to learn how to all get along without it being awkward.”

I glared up at my pretend boyfriend, willing him to read the huge NO in my eyes. This was a test, there was no doubt about it. This was so not Killian Davenport. I’d never heard of him going on a double date in all my years at Stonewall.

Kill fixed his taunting gaze on me. “So, what do you say, Lorelei?”
