Chapter 44

Oryx

“We can take off the chain now. Lower your head so I can take it off your neck.”

I remained still as I watched Vesper’s lip turn into a pout. It was cute when she thought she was in charge.

My cock twitched as I took in her outfit.

Tight leather pants clung to every curve, the corset cinching her waist. The dark makeup around her eyes was meant to make her look dangerous, but all I could focus on was how it deepened her gaze, how the corset lifted her breasts, how the leather hugged the swell of her hips.

It made me fucking hard.

My tongue slid past my hardened skull and I swiped past where my lips should be.

Vesper put her hands on her hips and stomped her foot. “Seriously, right now? You were just fed. Do we need to supplement with blood or something?”

I growled within the back of my throat and my tail whipped around behind me to find Veylor and pull him close to us.

We’d just returned to the estate, and while they’d eaten in town, I’d had to sit and watch—I hadn’t eaten anything myself.

Was I full from eating prior to leaving? Yes.

But I had room for dessert.

When I pulled Veylor beside Vesper, his grunt of protest died in his throat as his fingers grazed the soft swell beneath her corset. The scowl melted from his face, replaced by something hungry and bright.

The entire ride home, Veylor had been silent as stone after his meeting with that man who supposedly had answers about our bond. I'd reached through our mental link, practically begging for information, but felt nothing but the cold wall of his resistance pushing back against me.

He shut me down.

He closed off his mind, not letting me in.

It either has gone horribly wrong, or he was thinking things through to deal with Vesper.

Fate bond or not, my very marrow knew the truth…we three belonged as one. Every fragment of creature that composed me resonated with this certainty.

I pulled us all closer together, the chains clinked and my shaft pressed against the both of them.

Vesper bit her lip, I felt her hand slide up next to Veylor. His eyes widened in surprise at her attempt to include him and my hearts raced watching the both of them.

Acceptance.

“Do not mess this up,” I told him.

Veylor cleared his throat. “I should get the horses into the stables.”

Just then, two vessels marched up to the carriage and took hold of the horse's reins. “I think they have it handled,” I sniffed into his hair.

What luck that Vesper and Veylor had been creating vessels for the rest of the staff. The house was bustling with people now, the house more lively than what it was so many years ago.

At least that is what it appeared to be from Veylor’s memories. I still haven’t regained any of my own but I felt like I was more complete now than I ever was.

“I suppose you’re right.” Veylor’s throat bobbed.

Of course I was right.

Now it was time for Veylor and Vesper to have their moment. She needed to spread her legs and let Veylor take that glorious pussy for himself.

"Vesper," Veylor started, his voice low and husky. He reached up, his hand cupping her cheek gently. His thumb brushed against her skin, tracing the line of her jaw. Vesper leaned into his touch, her eyes never leaving his. It was a tender moment, one that made my chest tighten with emotion.

My body reacted to their display, my cock growing even harder, pressing against the confines of my trousers. I wanted to join them, to feel their bodies against mine, to be a part of their union. But I held back, allowing them this moment. They needed it, needed to connect, to solidify their bond.

Veylor's hands moved from Vesper's face, sliding down her body, exploring her curves. He gripped her hips, pulling her against him. Vesper gasped into his mouth, her body molding to his. Their breaths came in ragged gasps.

I couldn't wait any longer. I needed to be a part of this, to feel them, to touch them. I moved closer, my body pressing against theirs. Vesper's hand reached out, pulling me in, her fingers digging into my flesh. I groaned, my muzzle finding her neck, licking and nipping at her skin.

This was right, so right. All three of us together.

A throat cleared nearby, snapping me from my trance. I whipped my head toward the sound, a snarl already forming. Benedict stood there, immediately lowering his gaze and retreating a step when he met my eye holes.

“I am terribly sorry, I really am—”

Veylor straightened and wrapped his arm around Vesper. Her face was aflame as she leaned into Veylor’s chest.

“—But you have a guest.” Benedict raised his head and looked straight at Veylor, as if he knew who it was.

I tilted my head, not understanding completely. Veylor had blocked me out of his mind, and while I had broken down his walls once before, it would take time for me to break them again.

Would I subject Vesper to that?

The chain clinked against my hoof that laid on the ground. “What guest?” I growled and stepped forward to Benedict. “What is his name?”

Benedict bowed his head again. “Sorcerer Sylvaine, from the Mountainous Regions of Chantie, to the North. He showed me a letter that Veylor wrote him and said he would rather be here in person to deliver—”

“—That’s enough.” Veylor barked. “Leave us Benedict, I will be with him in a moment.”

I snarled and Benedict jumped to scurry away.

“Sylvaine, who is that?” Vesper stood, raised an eyebrow and crossed her arms. She was cutting herself off from Veylor again and I didn’t like it.

I let out a whimper and she stood close to me, her arms wrapping around mine.

Veylor pulled back his hair, his sharp cheekbones becoming a distraction as he paced in front of us. “Remember, I sent strands of your hair to him, to find out what you are, Vesper. It was before… everything. All of this.” He waved his hand between them.

Vesper nodded. “Oh that’s right. Because I’m different. You think I’m part… something else.” Her head lowered and Veylor darted forward and tilted her head up with the crook of his finger.

"Stop." His jaw clenched. "I won't let you hang your head like that. There's no shame in being different. I needed answers before…about why I couldn't resist you, why I felt chained to you from the moment we met."

Vesper’s eyes softened.

"And I know why you drew me in." His voice dropped to a ravenous growl.

"It's your goddamn fire—the way you stare into darkness and see what others fear to look at.

The way you'd walk straight into death itself and demand it bend to your will.

" He seized her face between his hands, his fingers digging into her skin.

She choked out a sob, her body trembling against his.

"Even if your blood runs with siren magic, you never needed it.

It was your soul that clawed into mine and refused to let go.

Bond or no fucking bond, I would have torn apart anyone who stood between us.

Because you are the proverbial heart that beats within my chest, Vesper.

You are the very essence of what keeps me alive. "

He crushed his lips to hers, a fierce and desperate claim that left her breathless.

I watched, my own desire rising like a tide as Veylor devoured her, his hands roaming over her body as if he couldn't get enough.

Vesper's fingers tangled in his hair, pulling him closer, her eyes fluttering closed as she gave herself over to him. It was a dance, a rhythm that called to the beast within me. I could feel their need, their hunger, as if it were my own.

Veylor pulled away and I groaned, stepping toward them.

“Let me speak with him, I’ll send him away.” Veylor gazed up at me and nodded his head like I was to take care of our pet. An order I would do willingly.

I grabbed hold of his arm and he willingly came to me, his lips pressed up against the side of my skull.

“We are all mates, Oryx,” he whispered. “It’s all true. Just… keep it between us for now.” He pulled away, his eyes glassy.

Before I could say another word, his cape bellowed around him and he left us on the steps outside our home.

Vesper stepped to my side and huddled close. “Are we really going to stand here and let him talk to this Sylvaine guy alone?”

Vesper did not hear about Veylor’s revelation to me. Her mind was reeling with curiosity of what was to be said in this meeting.

I chuckled darkly and my tail wrapped around her waist.

“No, we will hide in the shadows, quietly.” I adjusted myself with my growing problem.

Vesper cooed. “Poor baby. You were so good out in town and now you are suffering. Do I need to take care of you?” Her teasing tone did nothing to hide the fact that my come was now leaking out of my pants.

I whimpered.

“Are you smiling at my suffering? You can do that with Veylor, not with me. I am your first owner.”

Vesper scoffed. “You aren’t serious right now?

Who is holding the leash?” She bent over and picked up the chain from the ground and then waved it in front of my face.

“You are my little minion. Now come with me and I’ll suck you off behind the bushes so you don’t swing your ding dong around and hit a table and get us caught. ”

I pranced behind her, sniffing her hair. “But what if I wanted to pleasure you instead?”

Vesper groaned. “I’m going to need more ice cubes.”

I chuckled. I loved my little pet.
