Chp 47- A Night of Miracles
Enjoy this double long update, my babygirls!??
The hospital corridor was suffocated in a heavy, eerie silence, broken only by the muffled, agonizing screams echoing from behind the frosted glass of the Operating Theatre. Above the double doors, the stark red light glowed ominously.
Taehyung sat quietly on the waiting room chairs, his eyes fixed on Namjoon, who was pacing back and forth like a caged animal.
Every scream from inside felt like a blade twisting in Namjoon's chest.
His mind was spiraling, frantically bargaining with every deity he knew, pleading for the safety of his wife and unborn child.
"Joon, she's going to make it," Taehyung said softly, stepping into his path and placing a steadying hand on Namjoon's trembling shoulder.
"Jin bhabhi is stronger than anyone we know. Please, just sit down for a minute. Let me get you something to eat."
Namjoon shook his head violently, his voice strained and raw. "I can't even swallow water right now, Tae, not until I know she's safe. My heart is in my throat, how do you expect me to eat?"
"Okay, fine. No food," Taehyung said gently, coaxing him toward the chairs. "Just sit with me. Talk to me. I'm right here with you.. for you, for Jin, and for the baby."
Reluctantly, Namjoon lowered himself into the seat, though his body remained wired with tension, his foot tapping an erratic beat against the cold floor.
Then, without warning, the screams vanished.
A heavy beat of silence hung in the air, followed immediately by the high-pitched, piercing cry of a newborn.
Namjoon bolted to his feet, his breath catching in his chest. He turned to Taehyung, his eyes wide with desperate hope.
"T... That was a baby, right?" Namjoon stuttered, his voice cracking. "Tae, you heard that too, didn't you? Are they okay? My Jin? Doctor! Doctor, is my wife okay?!"
Panic overtook him, and he began frantically pounding against the OT doors.
Taehyung sprang forward, wrapping his arms around Namjoon to restrain him.
Just as he pulled him back, the red light flickered off, and the doors swung open.
A nurse stepped out, holding a tiny bundle swaddled tightly in pastel pink cloth.
"Who is the father?" she asked, her voice calm amidst the chaos.
Namjoon's hands trembled as he stepped forward. "I... I am. Is... is my wife okay?"
A soft, comforting smile broke across the nurse's face.
"Your wife is completely fine. She fought like a warrior to bring this spunky little girl into the world. If she hadn't stayed so resilient, things could have taken a dark turn, but she pulled through. She's exhausted and sleeping off the anesthesia right now, so she needs rest. In the meantime...
why don't you hold your daughter?"
The suffocating weight on Namjoon's chest evaporated in a single, shattered breath. Relief swept over him so forcefully his knees nearly buckled. He looked down at the tiny baby, whose dark, curious eyes were blinking up toward the ceiling lights.
Carefully, reverently, the nurse transferred the fragile bundle into Namjoon's arms before slipping back into the operating room.
The moment her weight settled against his chest, Namjoon broke. Silent, hot tears burst from his eyes, dripping down his cheeks.
Taehyung stepped closer, resting a warm hand on the back of Namjoon's neck, a fond smile gracing his face. "Hey, why are you crying now, you big idiot?"
He teased softly, bending down to look at the baby. "Look at this tiny little guest who just blessed your home. Hey there, baby girl... I'm your uncle Tae."
Namjoon wiped his cheek with his shoulder, letting out a breathy laugh. "They're tears of relief, Tae... she's so small. My little doll." He leaned down, placing a gentle, lingering kiss against the baby's unbelievably soft forehead.
"I'm your papa," Namjoon whispered, his voice thick with emotion. "You gave us quite a scare coming into this world. I can already tell you're going to be a handful. But that's okay. You're my little princess."
Taehyung watched the tender scene unfold, his heart full. "Why don't you stay here and get acquainted with your princess? I'm going to run downstairs to grab some fresh fruit for when Jin wakes up, and pick up some newborn essentials."
Namjoon looked up, a sudden spike of anxiety flashing in his eyes. "Hurry back, okay? It feels weird without you here."
"I'll be right back, don't worry, you fool" Taehyung chuckled, pulling his phone from his pocket and sliding it into Namjoon's hands. "Take care of the baby, and stop crying! Everything turned out perfect. Here, call your dad and tell him the good news. He's a grandfather now."
With a warm pat on Namjoon's shoulder, Taehyung turned and walked down the corridor.
Namjoon watched his best friend leave, then slowly lowered his gaze back to the miracle in his arms. The baby was staring straight up at him now, her wide, innocent eyes locked onto his face.
"I really don't know what good deeds I did in my past life to deserve a friend like Taehyung," Namjoon murmured, his heart swelling with immense gratitude.
"Papa must be the luckiest man alive... blessed with a beautiful daughter like you, a strong wife like your mother, and a friend like your uncle, hmm?"
As he spoke, a radiant smile broke across Namjoon's face, bringing out the deep, familiar dimples on his cheeks.
The baby babbled softly, stretching a tiny, miniature hand out from her blanket. With surprising focus, her tiny fingers reached up and pressed right against the deep indent of his dimple.
Namjoon gasped softly, a tearful laugh escaping his lips. "Oh, is that how it is? Claiming your spot on day one? You really are your mother's daughter... she can never resist my dimples either."

Meanwhile, Jungkook tried calling Taehyung two or three times, but the calls were repeatedly declined.
Sinking into a heavy silence, she set her phone aside, her face cast in gloom.
To distract herself from the quiet ache in her heart, she silently began folding clothes and arranging them inside the wardrobe.
By late evening, she made her way downstairs to the kitchen to instruct the staff about the dinner menu.
In the main living room, the rest of the family had gathered. Jihyo, Eunchae, Suga, and Jimin had just returned from the hospital and temple and were sitting alongside Dadi and Jiya, reviewing Jimin's medical reports.
"The doctor assured us that everything is completely fine," Suga explained reassuringly to Jihyo and Eunchae. "Jimin just needs a little extra rest and care. Both she and the baby are perfectly healthy."
"Thank goodness," Jihyo breathed a sigh of relief. "I was so anxious that I asked Eunchae to visit the temple with me. It feels like dark clouds have been hovering over this household lately."
Just then, Jungkook walked into the room. She quietly took a seat beside Jimin and asked softly, "How are you feeling now, didi? What did the doctor say?"
Jimin reached out, gently caressing Jungkook's cheek with a warm smile.
"The doctor said the baby is doing wonderfully. And how could it not be, with how lovingly you take care of me every single day?"
Jungkook managed a tiny, grateful smile. But as her eyes flicked toward Dadi and Jiya, the cold atmosphere made her quickly avert her gaze.
"Hey, Jungkook," Jiya interjected, her tone dripping with venom. "Keep your distance from Jimin."
A collective wave of anger rippled through the room.
"What kind of way is that to speak to bhabhi, chhoti maa?" Suga snapped, his eyes hardening as he confronted Jiya.
"It's fine, bhai... I'll leave," Jungkook murmured softly, tears welling in her eyes as she stood up and quickly exited the room.
Jihyo turned fiercely toward Jiya. "How dare you speak to my bahu like that?"
"Oh, quiet down!" Dadi interjected coldly, chewing her paan. "Whenever something happens, you and your son blindly take that girl's side. Jiya said nothing wrong. Don't push me to open my mouth, just stay quiet."
"But Dadi, that was completely out of line!" Suga protested, only to be cut down by Dadi's sharp glare.
"Are you going to teach me how to talk to people now?" she barked.
Suga stood his ground, his voice firm. "She was sitting with my wife, sharing our happiness for our baby. I will stand up for her. She is my bhabhi, and to me, a bhabhi is like a mother. I will not tolerate anyone disrespecting her in this house ever again. Come, Jimin, let's go upstairs."
Without waiting for a response, Suga gently helped Jimin up and led her away from the toxic atmosphere.
Jiya scoffed bitterly, watching them leave. "Look at him talking back! His elder brother's arrogance is rubbing off on him too."
"Keep quiet, Jiya," Dadi grumbled, waving her hand dismissively. "Let it be. Go fetch the oil and massage my feet, you've grown lazy enough these days."
Meanwhile, at the Jeon residence...
Tzuyu sat motionlessly on the central sofa, her head covered beneath a traditional red veil. The living room was packed with relatives who had gathered for the formal muh dikhayi ceremony.
One by one, guests lifted her veil to inspect her face before retreating to their seats. There was no denying Tzuyu's ethereal beauty, yet the dark, inescapable shadow of her family background clung to her like a curse.
Whispers began to ripple through the gathering.
"Isn't she Woojin's sister?"
"Which Woojin? The one involved in that horrific crime?"
"The very same. I can't comprehend what rush the Jeons were in to marry off their respectable, hardworking son to the sister of a criminal."
"Tch, poor Minho. I was planning to offer my own daughter's hand for him... instead, this wretched girl appears out of nowhere."
The malicious gossip grew louder, cascading through the room until every cruel word pierced Tzuyu's ears. Tears pooled behind her eyes, and her knuckles turned white as she clutched the fabric of her saree in silent agony.
