I couldn’t see my prize from here. She was supposed to be at work all day today, but she hadn’t come back like she was supposed to. My teeth clenched as I watched another one of the useless Holts arrive.

Maybe I wouldn’t keep her hair in a jar after all.

She wasn’t worthy.

Maybe I wouldn’t keep her at all.

Maybe I would go in there and kill them all, and bury her in the dirt. Leave her there where she was supposed to be.
