Chapter 43

Victoria went back to Starlight Terrace, holding the divorce papers covered in red marks. As soon as she opened the door, she saw Diana sitting on the sofa.

Diana was dressed in a black silk nightgown, her long hair cascading naturally. She had a facial mask on and, upon seeing Victoria, glanced up briefly before coldly turning her gaze away.

Victoria immediately sensed something was wrong.

She changed her shoes and carefully approached Diana, asking, "Diana... Is there something going on?"

Diana gave a detached nod. "Yes."

Victoria cautiously asked, "Is it bad?"

Diana's face remained emotionless. "All the people who were interested in working with you have stopped replying. They must be scared of Henry. The fame you worked so hard to build is over before it even started."

Victoria was stunned. She slumped onto the sofa, completely disheartened.

Her eyes glazed over as she stared at the beautifully designed ceiling, murmuring, "Meeting Henry really brings nothing but misfortune."

Victoria's eyelashes fluttered. "That jerk definitely has bad intentions."

Diana replied, "They're offering the same price and the same terms, but they want you to sign a contract with Henry for long-term cooperation."

"No."

Victoria refused immediately.

"I've finally gotten this close to a divorce. I don't want to deal with him after we're divorced."

Diana said, "But you don't have another choice now."

Victoria suddenly stood up. "Who says that?"

"Hmm?"

Diana's cool, beautiful face flashed a moment of doubt.

Victoria smiled and said, "I've exchanged contacts with Edward's grandson. My incense works well for him; he would help me."

With that, she eagerly took out her phone and sent a message to Jayce.

Victoria: [Mr. Caldwell, are you there?]

Victoria: [Mr. Caldwell, I'm sorry to disturb you at this hour, but I need your help with something.]

Jayce: [You're the same age as me.]

Victoria stared at his reply, confused. She thought, "What does that mean? Why is he suddenly talking about age?"

After thinking for a moment, she realized he might not like the way she addressed him.

Victoria: [Sorry, that was a bit abrupt, but after thinking about it, I find you're the only one who can help me.

At Edward's birthday party, I impulsively offended Henry, and he threatened not to let me off the hook.

No one dares to cooperate with me now. Do you think you can help me solve this? ]

Jayce: [No.]

Jayce: [Apologize to him and have him forgive you.]

Victoria felt speechless.

She threw the phone down, feeling completely hopeless.

On the other end, Jayce read the ellipsis she had sent, paused for a moment, and then dialed Henry's number.

"Hello?" Arthur said.

Jayce said, "I met Ms. Aroma. She said she was very sorry and that she shouldn't have said those things. She hopes you can forgive her."

Jayce replied, "She couldn't reach you, so she asked me to pass on her message."

Henry let out a quiet, amused laugh. "Alright, bring her to me. I need to check her sincerity."

"Okay." Jayce agreed, then hung up.

There was nothing more he could do.

He planned to tell her this in person.

Diana glanced at their chat history, her face growing colder. "Perhaps you should consider developing in another city. Lanceser was controlled by the Harrison family. No one dares oppose him in Lanceser."

"I'll consider it."

The next day, while Victoria was still experimenting with her perfume, her phone rang. She picked it up and saw that it was Henry calling.

The thought of this man's behavior made her want to do something outrageous.

"Hello?"

However, when she answered the call, she had come down.

Henry's voice came through the phone, low and magnetic, sending a shiver down her spine. "Come downstairs."

It suddenly hit her that he had mentioned he would be taking her to the hospital today for a check-up on her brain.

"Okay." She quickly changed her clothes and went downstairs.

Her long curls fell naturally around her face, her delicate features sparkling. Her skin was smooth, and the pearls in her cars gave her a softness that complemented her light pink suit. She looked like a modal on a runway exuding elegance.
