Chapter 96

"Just listen to yourself! What kind of man says that?!"

Her eyes welled up instantly, and she lashed out at him without thinking!

Henry easily caught her wrists and pinned them above her head. A faint smile played on his lips as he looked at her furious face. He seemed strangely delighted by her anger.

"If you keep struggling, you'll only hurt yourself."

He offered the warning with feigned kindness, then leaned down to kiss her.

Victoria bit down hard on his lip. Pain shot through him, and the metallic taste of blood filled their mouths.

Henry looked at her with displeasure. "Victoria, enough is enough."

Victoria scoffed. "Hasn't anyone ever told you there's no such thing as a free lunch? If you want to play, you have to pay the price."

Instead of anger, amusement flickered in Henry's eyes. Perhaps it was because the icy indifference was finally gone from her gaze.

His interest piqued, he asked, "And biting me is the price?"

Victoria's chest heaved with anger as she glared at him defiantly.

Henry brushed his hand against her face, his thumb grazing her lips. In a low voice, he murmured, "What's the point of just biting my lips? There are plenty of other places on me you could bite. Would you?"

"You!"

Victoria was flushed with indignation. While she was clearly upset, he remained completely unfazed, even making such brazen comments.

She struggled against his grip, her wrists starting to hurt, but she couldn't break free.

Henry's voice was deep as he spoke near her ear. "You used to be different. Shall I remind you?"

Victoria squeezed her eyes shut, biting her tongue to regain composure through the sharp pain.

She said firmly, "Bringing up the past is pointless. I don't remember, and I won't play along with your games."

Her lone grew cold, her gaze becoming icy and indifferent.

Henry frowned, displeased with her distant expression. Without saying a word, he slid his hand under her clothes, his fingers brushing against her soft skin.

The unfinished business from last night lingered in his mind, and the feel of her under his palm was intoxicating.

Victoria trembled slightly.

She closed her eyes and remained silent, neither resisting nor responding, aware of his presence.

Yet her body betrayed her true feelings.

Henry murmured appreciatively, "Your body responds so well."

He was about to proceed further when suddenly, all his movements froze.

Victoria opened her eyes, looking at him calmly. "Should we continue?"

A cold expression crept across Henry's face as he knelt with one knee between hers, clearly catching the mockery flashing in her eyes.

A vein pulsed at his temple. He leaned down and bit her collarbone sharply before heading straight to the bathroom.

Victoria winced in pain and, once free, curled up into herself.

She let out a breath of relief.

Her period couldn't have come at a better time.

Right now, she honestly couldn't bring herself to be as close to him as before–every fiber of her being resisted him, both emotionally and physically.

The sound of running water continued for minutes. When Henry emerged from the bathroom, radiating cold fury, she was no longer in the bedroom.

The last rays of the setting sun faded away, leaving the bedroom in dusky twilight. The light from the bathroom illuminated his back, but his handsome and sharp face was unreadable.

No wonder she agreed so readily; it was because she had her period and assumed he wouldn't make a move on her.

Henry let out a cryptic chuckle. After losing her memory, she had undoubtedly become more cunning.

Just then, his phone on the bedside table rang. He walked over and answered, "Speak."

"Mr. Harrison." Grace's voice was respectful. "Mrs. Harrison has sent the final photos. Would you like to see them?"

"Yes."

Henry responded coldly and hung up.

A moment later, an email arrived. He opened it, glanced through the photos, and raised an eyebrow in surprise.

She did have a talent for photography. Even with Sarah's lack of cooperation, she managed to capture Sarah's unique characteristics, which, combined with the clothes, created a striking effect.

He couldn't find any fault with them. Grace was stunned.

She had expected him to reject them, leaving Victoria in trouble. She hadn't anticipated that he would approve them!

Was he really just checking the final product?

Grace had seen the photos herself and was amazed by Victoria's photography skills. Once the promotional images were released, they were bound to cause a sensation.
