Chapter 192

"Mr. Harrison is here!" At that moment, someone suddenly exclaimed, and the crowd in the banquet hall turned their attention to the door.

The attendants opened the large doors, and there, stepping through them, was Henry, dressed in a black custom–made suit. His tall frame exuded an imposing aura. His face, strikingly handsome and sharply defined as if carved by a divine hand, carried a cold, aloof expression.

His eyes, though deep and full of unspoken emotions, were clouded with indifference as he swept his gaze over the room. His eyes then locked on Victoria, and with a few long strides, he walked directly toward her.

"I received Mr. Harrison's invitation, but when I arrived, I didn't see him. I thought he wasn't coming."

"How could he not come? Today is the grand opening of Mrs. Harrison's studio. Despite his busy schedule, Mr. Harrison surely made time to attend."

"Mr. and Mrs. Harrison really are such a loving couple."

The chatter continued in the background.

As she watched the tall man approach, Evie couldn't help but sneer softly, "Does he really need to make such a show? Who asked him to send invitations?"

A hint of surprise flashed across Victoria's eyes. She was still processing the fact that all those prominent figures had come because of his invitation.

Just as she was lost in thought, a magnetic and chilling voice cut through the noise. "Move."

On her left was Evie, and on her right was Sebastian.

Henry was standing in front of Evie as he said that.

Evie blinked innocently. "Why don't you ask Sebastian to move?"

On the opposite side, Barrett, who had been watching the interaction with amusement, chuckled, "He's Victoria's brother. There's no way Henry would ask him to move."

Gideon, with a sarcastic tone, chimed in, "It's not like we've prepared a seat for you Henry, so why even show up?"

Henry glanced at him coldly.

Barrett raised his eyebrows and offered a thumbs–up to Gideon. "You've really got guts!"

Gideon pushed his glasses with a smile and said, "If you don't prick his heart, he won't realize the reality."

Evie met Henry's gaze and shrank her neck, thinking to herself, "This man's gaze is so fierce! I'll offer my seat to him!"

With a face full of grievances, she stood up, and Henry directly sat in her seat. He looked at Victoria and said, "Congratulations on your grand opening."

Victoria glanced at him indifferently and replied, "Thank you, the congratulations have been received. You can leave now."

Henry's handsome and sharp face showed no change in expression as he responded, "Why would I leave when you're here?"

The others in the room couldn't help but exchange knowing looks. After all, everyone present knew that they were in the middle of a divorce.

Sebastian directly asked, "Why didn't you go to Hardwick Villa?"

Henry glanced at him and replied, "Why didn't you go home?"

The two exchanged glances, then chose to remain silent and turned their eyes away.

Pete suddenly asked, "By the way, when I came to Lanceser, I came across some celebrity gossip. I heard Mr. Harrison is very fond of a ballet dancer. She seems to be your ex–girlfriend."

As Pete's words fell, everyone at the table turned their attention to him.

Barrett clicked his tongue and said, "Why bring up such old gossip? Hey, don't tell me you don't have an ex–girlfriend?"

Pete smiled, "Well, I don't."

Gideon smiled lightly and said, "I can vouch for that. He really did have a ballet dancer ex–girlfriend."

Barrett looked at him and said, "What's your deal? Are you adding the oil to the fire?"

Gideon remained calm. "I'm just speaking the truth. If I don't say it, does that mean it's not a fact?"

Barrett was left speechless.

He thought, "Bro! You're supposed to be Henry's friend! What kind of friend stabs him like that? At this rate, his wife will run off!"

However, Gideon seemed oblivious to his silent plea and added, "Besides, not long ago, when she came back to the country, he seemed pretty happy about it."

"Gideon!" Henry looked at him, and his deep eyes were particularly cold.

"Fine, I won't say anything more." Gideon chose to surrender.

But at this moment, wasn't it a bit too late to stop talking?

Pete's face carried a faint, almost sarcastic smile as he said, "Since you're so preoccupied with your ex–girlfriend, why haven't you just divorced yet? Does Mr. Harrison want to have his cake and eat it too? Isn't that unfair to Vicky?"

The atmosphere around the table froze to the extreme as if sparks were flickering in the air. It felt like if even a drop of oil were added now, the situation would explode immediately.

Henry's expression darkened, and he coldly stared at Pete. "Are you defending her? Then, why didn't you tell her you were going to kill her son?"

"Damn! What?" As soon as those words fell, Barrett gasped in shock. The people around them noticed the commotion and quickly quieted down. He immediately toned down his voice, looking at Henry with confusion.

"Henry, what do you mean by that?" Victoria looked at him in shock. "What nonsense are you talking about?"

Henry's charming eyes fixed on her. "The truck driver who tried to crash into me and Jude before was instructed by someone, and that person was him."

Victoria immediately shook her head. "Impossible! Do you have any evidence?"

Pete sighed helplessly, "I'm just the owner of a ruby carving shop. How could I possibly have the ability to hire someone to kill? Besides, we don't have any deep hatred between us. Why would I do something like that?"

He pressed his lips and looked at Victoria. "Vicky, could it be that because I've been getting too close to you, and he got upset? So now he's trying to paint me as a villain, hoping that you'll stay away from me."

Barrett's expression was frozen. "What the hell..."

Gideon raised an eyebrow slightly, seemingly not expecting this kind of drama to unfold.

Meanwhile, Evie was equally stunned, completely at a loss for words.

Henry's gaze turned cold. "Who do you think you are? You know she has a husband and a son, yet you still try to get close to her?"

Pete innocently blinked. "Mr. Harrison, I've known Vicky longer than you have. Besides, you're not even a competent husband. She has been married to you for five years, yet you're still tangling with your ex–girlfriend."

Henry was about to respond, but at that moment, his phone rang.

Upon hearing the familiar ringtone, Victoria's eyelids twitched. It was a call from Sarah. He had set a special ringtone for her.

As he took out his phone, she suddenly reached out and pressed her hand against his, saying, "You're not allowed to answer."

Henry's gaze fell on her delicate hand, then met her eyes. His thin lips pressed together. "Victoria, let go."

Victoria smiled sarcastically, "Henry, you're so fickle. One moment, you're thinking about your soon–to–be ex–wife and the next, you're thinking about your ex–girlfriend, your first love. Your heart is really vast. It seems it can fit everything."

The phone kept ringing.

Henry looked at the sarcastic smile on her face, and suddenly, he grabbed her hand. "You're my wife. There are some things we should face together, indeed."

He pulled Victoria to her feet and started walking toward the exit. After the ringtone had looped a few times, the call automatically ended, but the person on the other end was persistent and kept calling.

Victoria froze. "What are you doing? Let go of me!"
