Chapter 7 #2

Major exhaled. “Zeus, you’re something else.

” He let go of her hand and cradled Tabitha’s head, lowering his so their noses were almost touching.

“Why wouldn’t I want you for my mate? You are the smartest, sexiest, funniest, most badass female I know, and I have a Lolly.

Not that I think about her being sexy, but it’s impossible to miss the way my daddo is still crazy about her.

Growing up watching them together, I always wanted what he had.

The kind of female who would have his back no matter what.

Someone fierce and loyal. You, Tabitha Elizabeth Stone, are the kind of mate every male dreams about. ”

“When you put it like that…” Tabitha rose on her tiptoes and pressed their lips together.

She kept it chaste, but Major wasn’t having it.

He deepened the kiss, and Tabitha returned it with fervor, their chemistry off the charts.

He wanted to seal the bond, release his fangs, and bite her delicate skin.

He wanted the return bite, tying their souls together for hundreds of years.

He thought about how her fangs dropped when they were making love in the shower and he’d angled his neck, inviting her to bite him.

Now he knew the reason she hesitated. Major was close to calling Mason and asking him to find two others to replace them so they could enjoy their mating. He wouldn’t, but he wanted to.

Pressing his forehead to hers, he admitted, “I knew the first night at my house I wanted you for the rest of my life. I kept waiting for you to say something, and when you didn’t, I was afraid you were merely biding your time with me.

You have no idea how relieved I am that the fates chose me to be yours.

” Major placed a fist over his heart. “I vow on all that’s holy to be the best mate, the perfect partner, and when the time’s right, the most adoring husband.

We have some logistics to work out, but I’m willing to compromise.

Whatever it takes to be with you. I’m all in.

” The back door opened, and Major groaned.

“Fuck. Couldn’t he take longer to watch the stars? ”

Tabitha snickered as she lifted his glass and handed it to him. “Down that, and we’ll sneak out before he catches us drinking.”

Major did as she suggested, placing the glass beside hers, then pulled her toward the other side of the room where a second door led to a back hallway.

Perry shuffled into the room and poured himself another glassful of vodka.

They peered through the cracked doorway as he plopped down on the sofa and rubbed his eyes, muttering about stupid timelines and cocky sons of bitches.

“Dumbass didn’t reset the alarm. I’m going to take to the sky and patrol for a bit. I’ll meet you upstairs later,” Major whispered against Tabitha’s mouth.

Tabitha followed him to the back door, and once Major was outside, the alarm beeped when she set it.

After making a lap around the house, Major took off through the woods and stripped.

He shifted to his Eagle and flew up into the trees, remaining hidden until he reached the lake and flew a circuitous path over every house.

He paid close attention to the ones that were supposed to be empty.

Half his attention was on the job, and the other half was on the fiery redhead back at the house.

Major couldn’t believe he was Tabby’s fated mate.

He wanted to shift to his Lion and roar the stars down.

As he soared over the water, he thanked Zeus and the fates for giving him such a wondrous creature.

He couldn’t wait to tell Marshall. His twin would be over the moon for him.

Major was beyond blessed. He had the best family a male could ask for, and now he would be adding to that family.

He also couldn’t wait to rib his daddo about getting the redhead.

Major knew Mav would never wish for anyone other than Lolly, but he had been interested in Tabby’s mom before meeting Natalia.

Major had spent a little time with Tabby’s parents in West Virginia, and he already knew they would welcome him into their family as well.

Anthony might still hold a small grudge for the joke Major made when he asked if Tabitha was as hot as her mom, but if Gregor had laughed about it, surely Tabitha’s twin could get over it.

They were going to be brothers-in-law for many years to come, and it would be in both their best interests to get along.

After an hour of flying, Major didn’t see anyone sneaking around, so he returned to the woods outside the rental and shifted back to his skin.

He’d joked with Tabitha about coming in through her patio door upstairs, but he wouldn’t do that to Mason no matter how badly he wanted to sleep with his mate.

Tabitha was waiting for him in the kitchen when he returned, sipping one of her fizzy waters.

After resetting the alarm, he listened for movement or voices.

“Everyone’s in the for the night.” Tabitha arched a brow, smirking.

“Is that right?” Major rounded the island, crowding Tabitha against the counter.

“Mmm hmm.” She placed her can on the granite behind her and snaked her arms over his shoulders.

Major dipped his head, nuzzling her neck in the spot that drove her crazy.

Now it made sense. That was the spot where he would bite her and claim her as his mate.

He released his fangs and scraped them across her skin.

He wanted to clamp down, but he wouldn’t until they were completely alone.

When they exchanged marks, he had no doubt his Lion would roar in ecstasy and contentment.

Tabitha angled her head more, tempting Major with more skin. He gripped her hips and lifted her onto the counter, settling between her legs. “You are too tantalizing, Miss Stone.”

“Come up to my room?” she offered.

“Should we? We are on the clock.” Look at Major being an adult. He snorted to himself.

Tabitha sighed. “You’re right. We—” She gazed over his shoulder, her eyes wide.

“Someone’s coming.” Pushing against his chest, Tabby hopped down, grabbed his hand, and dragged him toward the den.

They were quiet while they waited to see who it was.

After a few seconds, the alarm beeped, and someone slipped out the back door.

“Showtime,” Major whispered.
