Epilogue
Ichi,
There are two letters here, but you can only show them the one beneath this.
I’m going to be asking a lot of you, and I have no idea if any of it will work. If it doesn’t, I don’t want them to know. But if there’s even a ten percent chance I’m right and the future can change for the better, then we have to risk it.
Tucked inside this envelope is a vial of my blood. You’re going to need it to open Portal Lake. You’ll also need Tsal-mawet. To do that, you’ll have to trick the blade into thinking you’re me, and for that, you’ll most likely need help from a blood-witch.
Find Anya. She may be hiding as a red-streaked mouse, but she couldn’t have left the Redemption Circle.
You’re also going to need my father’s feather. Ask Cato. He’ll know where it is. Whether he’ll give it to you is another story.
Then find me in the circles, and make sure to bring the feather and the dagger. We need to bring Etan down before he carries out his next destructive plan. And to do that, we need to start from the beginning.
P.S. If I can’t get out of Limbo…
I will get out of Limbo.
But know that you’ll be risking your soul, Ichi.
And still I’m asking this of you because I know you’ll do it.
I don’t know what kind of person that makes me.
Maybe a desperate one, hoping this isn’t the true end.
Or maybe one with more faith than she feels as she writes this letter, knowing this isn’t over.
It can’t be.
Don’t give them hope, Ichi. Because at the moment, I don’t have any. I only have a future self whispering theoreticals and mad plans.
Let’s hope it’s enough.
