Chapter 34
Ariel
After, saying goodnight to Herald, I head to my room where a package is waiting for me on my bed. It’s in a yellow package and looks official. I wonder what Teddy has done now. Opening it, I’m sent into shock, and fall to my knees.
To Ariel Rose,
We were made aware of a situation involving your father, formerly Sargent Francis Rose. It was brought to our attention that your father may have been falsely accused of planting some evidence.
We looked deeper into the situation, and have found this to be true.
We send our sincerest apologies.
With your permission, we would like to rebury your father with our other officer and hold a ceremony honoring your father.
If yes, we would like to pay for trip and board, and that of a guest if you’d like to bring one.
Signed By,
NYPD Police Commissioner
Nolan Gentry
With shaking hands, I set the letter aside, and check the other contents. Two plane tickets to New York for a couple weeks from now, a prepaid visa to cover cab fair, and a packet of instructions for the Hotel. They’ve reserved one of the most expansive Hotels in New York. They reserved it under Commissioner Gentry, and room service will be covered including one night at the five star restaurant the Hotel is famous for.
I put everything back in the package, and pick up Teddy’s letter.
Dear Ariel,
I remember everything you’ve ever said to me including how heartbroken and filled with guilt you were after your father was framed.
What happened to him was not your fault, but I wanted to ease your guilt, and give you and your father the closure you both deserve.
So after picking up Herald, we made a pit stop by the NYPD where we pretty much demanded them clear your father’s name.
Wasn’t too hard to do after they figured out that Greg was the one who reported him, and after they found out what he did to you.
They sent us with the promise to look into it, and I hope the packet I put on your bed has the good news we’ve been waiting for.
I Love You,
Teddy.
