CADEN

A s soon as the elevator doors shut behind me, her soft, beautiful voice enveloped me, surrounding me like a warm ray of sunshine. I smiled. She had been doing that ever since she noticed my fear when I didn’t immediately see her after walking in.

Three weeks ago, I had nearly lost her. She had almost slipped from my grasp before we even had the chance to start our lives together. I walked to the kitchen smiling at the bouquet of red roses I had gotten her a few days ago. I’d been getting her flowers nearly every day. They had almost taken over the house.

I grinned. She was going to freak out even more when she saw what I had planned. Reece had also complained each time he came to see her-and me, I admitted to myself grudgingly. He had the nerve to worry about me now that he was back on his feet. His broken arm was healing nicely his face was back to its smug, handsomeness safe for a few scars. Those gave him a rougher look now though, which, as he told Ana, made the ladies go crazy . Ana had been so worried about him.

Overwhelmed by her emotions, tears streamed down her face like a waterfall as she recounted the gruesome details of his torture and the ritual she underwent. It was clearly a horrific experience for her. I knew she had nightmares, even though she rarely talked about them. She would wake in the middle of the night to take steamy hot showers, slipping back into bed with her skin reddened and nearly blistered. All I could do was hold her and until she fell back asleep. Her enchanting voice broke me out of my tragic thoughts. The song she picked this time felt sad and filled with anguish. My vision suddenly became blurry, and I froze. Was I? Yes, I had tears in my eyes. I smiled while I wiped them away. She was melting every inch of my cold heart.

The scent of strawberry and roses filled the room as I walked into the bedroom. My cock of course, responded immediately, the scent making me think about her squirming beneath me. My phone buzzed, and I looked down at it. I smiled to myself as I confirmed that everything had been set in motion. I moved to the bathroom door to see her lounging in the bathtub, rose petals floating on top the water, mixing with the bubbles. She smiled up at me as she ended her song. I smiled back.

“Hi” She said.

I walked in and squatted, leaning in to kiss her.

“I love when you do that,” I said against her lips.

She blushed.

“Why did you pick such a sad song?” I asked.

She shrugged. “No reason, and it isn’t actually a song. It’s an old poem my mother used to recite to me. I made it into a song”. She said as she ran her fingers through the surface of the water. I slid my hand into the water, joining hers in the back-and-forth motion as we sat in comfortable silence. She sighed and then stood. Water dripped down her plump, supple body. I swallowed hard. The urge to lick the water as it fell from her body was immense. She blushed as she grabbed a towel and began to dry herself off. My fists clenched as I resisted the urge to grab her and bury my face between her legs. I didn’t mind that she had taken time to recover, in fact, I felt like she needed more time. She was still having the nightmares after all. But lately she had been doing things that suspiciously felt like an attempt at seduction. It was really hard not to bury myself inside her when she tempted me so much.

I stood. “Why don’t you come out to the living room when you’re done, I brought us dinner,” I said .

She nodded, a look of disappointment flashing across her face.

I quickly walked out of the bathroom and then out of the room, shutting the bedroom door behind me.

I walked into the living room just as Reece pulled out the last massive bouquet of red roses from the elevator. The whole living room was filled, nearly every inch of the floor was covered. Reece smiled when he saw me.

“She’s going to freak out,” He said, still grinning.

I smiled, nodding. I pulled out the small box, opening it to look at the ring again. A shot of nerves went through me.

“She’s going to love it. Trust me, I hacked her computer myself. She has searched up red ruby wedding rings for the last 3 years.” Reece said reassuringly.

I examined the ring again. This was probably the one thousandth time I looked at it. I knew deep down that it was the perfect ring for her. The 4.04 carat oval, natural red ruby sat in the center, with diamonds encrusted around it on a sliver gold band. I heard her soft footsteps approach the bedroom door. I gestured for Reece to leave, and he smiled mouthing; good luck as he left.

I sucked in a breath, let it out, and then dropped down on one knee. She rounded the corner and froze, her eyes going wide. Her head whipped around, taking in all the flowers. Her wet hair sending drops of water onto her red tank top and shorts. She had never looked more beautiful. The slight panic in her eyes brought a smile to my lips.

“Caden,” She whispered as she finally approached me. I stretched my hand holding the box.

“Will you-” She lunged at me, sobs leaving her lips.

“Yes, yes, yes,” She repeated as she peppered me with wet kisses. I wrapped my arms around her, and the tension immediately left me and I sighed in relief. Then I chuckled.

“You didn’t let me finish,” I said chidingly.

She sniffed and then pulled back.

“I’m sorry, go ahead,” She said, wiping away a tear that was just replaced by another one soon after.

“Will you do me the honor of becoming my wife, little red?”

She bit her lip as if to keep from screaming. She nodded. I lifted a hand, freeing her bottom lip from her teeth.

“You can talk now, little red,” I said, amusement filling my heart.

She laughed. “Yes, I’ll be your wife,”

I pulled the ring from the box and then grabbed her trembling hand and slipped the ring on her finger. She gasped as she finally examined the ring. Her gaze snapped up to mine.

“How did yo- Reece did it, didn't he?” She said laughing.

She went back to examining the ring. “It’s beautiful” She let out in a breath.

“It is,” I said, never taking my eyes off her.

She looked back at me and then lunged forward again, grabbing my head and capturing my mouth in a brutal, passionate kiss. I groaned at her minty sweet taste. I stood, never breaking the kiss. My hands roamed her body. She was so beautiful and sexy, and she was all mine . Her hand went to the front of my slacks to unbuckle my belt. I tensed, hesitation gripping me for a second. Ana noticed and broke the kiss.

“Caden, I’m fine- or I will be, eventually . I don’t like you holding back. Frankly, it’s pissing me off,” She said, her hands on her hips.

My apprehension melted away to amusement as I took in her scolding tone.

She continued. “New memories will replace the old ones. I want you Caden.” She leaned into me again. Her fingers sliding into my hair as I looked down at her.

I gulped, only slightly hesitant now. As if she caught the scent of weakness, a slow sirenic smile spread across her lips as determination filled her eyes.

“Are you really going to deny your future wife pleasure” She said wife with such happiness and seduction that even if I had wanted to, I couldn't resist her.

I growled as I swung her off her feet and practically ran for the bedroom.
