33. Ruwon #2
“We knew we messed up,” Matteo said, walking into the room, sitting on his haunches in front of Violeta. “We were in Levi’s room at five in the morning talking about what we could do to get you back. We couldn’t last a day without you. We don’t ever want a day without you.”
Violeta sniffled, cupping his cheek. He leaned into her hand taking a deep breath.
“Letting you go was a mistake. We didn’t want to make that mistake ever again,” I said, grabbing her other hand.
“I don’t know what brought us together, but I will not ignore this pull I have towards you.
We all feel it and I’d rather give us a fighting chance than to always wonder what could have happened.
It felt like fate wanted us together and I didn’t want to take a chance that fate was done with us. I love you.”
“Ru,” Violeta whispered.
“I know it might be too soon, but I do,” I said, my voice cracking.
“I love all of you. Levi and Matteo might not be romantic love, but I’ve always felt like they were mine and you, my sweet Violeta, are ours.
We were supposed to walk on this earth together and there is no one else I’d rather do this with than with my best friends and you. ”
“Guys,” she cried, looking at each of us like she needed confirmation.
“Nothing has ever felt so right,” Levi said, leaning his head against her.
“You made us feel whole,” Matteo said, kissing her hand.
“It was fate,” I said, bringing her in for a kiss.
“I love you, my sweet girl,” Levi said, pulling her in for a kiss, lingering his lips over hers. “You have given me everything I have ever wanted and more.”
Matteo leaned forward, kissing their temples until Violeta kissed back and Levi joined in. I should have felt left out, that was the normal response, but nothing felt better than to see my best friends get everything they wanted.
“Ti amo, Bella,” Matteo said softly. “Ti amo, Cuore Mio.”
He kissed them softly.
“I love you too, Ru,” Matteo said, pulling me towards them and kissing my cheek.
“Yeah, I love you too guys,” I said, wrapping my arms around Violeta and Matteo.
Levi threaded his fingers through mine and I felt my world slip into place like a puzzle. It had taken time to get all the pieces together, but it was worth the wait.
“As much as I would like to chill and get over the last day, we need to get going,” Matteo said, breaking our hug.
“Let's get out of here,” Violeta said.
“Gomdori, can you take my bag while I check the restroom?” I asked, giving him and Matteo a look.
“Yeah, come on, Vi, let’s get the hell out of here,” he said, grabbing her hand.
Matteo stayed put as they left, lifting his brow as a silent question.
“I think we need to make some calls,” I said, explaining what I needed him to do.
“Are you sure?” he asked. “If you do this—”
“I know, and Minsoo can go fuck himself,” I said, getting up. “This will be enough of a statement to release and I would like for him to suffer a little before I fire him.”
“Ok, give me a moment and I’ll be out,” he said, already typing on his phone as I walked into the bathroom to check that I hadn’t left anything.
The drive to the airport was quick and the anxiety I thought I would feel was nowhere in sight. It was time I took my life into my hands. I had never felt freer as I held Violeta’s hand. We pulled up to the airport and I pulled her in for a quick kiss.
“Right here, please,” Levi said.
My heart leapt as I ended our kiss. “Do you trust me, Gongjunim?”
“Of course,” she said immediately.
I almost felt bad for doing this to her, but I needed her to know this was permanent and the rest of the world needed to know it too. The moment my door opened, someone called out my name. A swarm of photographers rushed towards us.
“Oh my god,” Violeta said, as I helped her down.
“It’s ok, we've got you,” I said confidently.
Levi and Matteo pulled up the rear as we walked towards the doors to the airport.
“Ruwon! Over here!”
“Ruwon, this way!”
“Is she your girlfriend!?”
“Are you all together!?”
The questions were coming rapid-fire and I was hoping Violeta hadn’t heard the indecent one. I swear these people had no shame. Right before we entered the airport, I stopped abruptly and pulled Violeta close.
“This was always supposed to happen, Baby, and we aren’t going anywhere.”
“Ruwon, don’t—”
I kissed her before her protest left her lips.
“If we see any photos circulating, we will pursue action, so I suggest you make sure all indecent photos are removed immediately," Matteo said.
I kissed her one last time, biting her lower lip.
“That’s all you’re getting from me. Leave me, my girlfriend and my friends alone,” I said, pulling Violeta with me as Levi and Matteo followed us, holding hands.
“Oh my god, what the hell was that?” Violeta asked, as I led her to security.
“That was us telling the world to fuck off,” Matteo said, walking next to Violeta. “What they think next is on them.”
“But, Ru I thought we didn’t—”
“This doesn’t solve everything, but it was time I stopped letting everyone decide what's best for me,” I said, throwing my arm around her shoulder.
“This was just a soft launch of our relationship and if someone happens to find out you’re not just my girlfriend, well I really don’t care.
I’m living for us and that's all that matters.”
I kissed her again as we got to security. Levi and Matteo kissed her softly on her forehead. My best friends and I shared a look before gazing at Violeta and then shared another look that said she was worth it.
