Your Carriage Awaits in Crumbleton (Crumbleton #6)
Prologue
Hold onto your umbrellas, folks—Crumbleton is about to get very soggy.
If you think the weather’s been bad this past few weeks, think again.
We’re expecting an entire month’s worth of rainfall over the next few days.
Andy has been busy clearing the drains and ditches around town, and there is a supply of sandbags ready and available at the Dolphin and Anchor if required.
According to Marsh Ranger, Murray Eddington, the marsh’s water levels are already unusually high. Translation: if you value your wellies, don’t go poking around out there. The council has suspended all use of the pleasure boat.
Travel isn’t currently advisable, but if you have to leave town, keep a close eye on local weather and news for the most up-to-date reports. Be aware that road conditions are likely to be tricky, especially around the marshes. Pick your routes carefully.
Please note: Dalton Garage is currently short-staffed and experiencing an unprecedented number of callouts due to the weather. Breakdown rescue times are expected to be a lot longer than usual. Be patient and pack a thermos, folks!
