Epilogue
Stewart Keep – Three Weeks Later
"Shh, love, ye need to keep it quiet or the entire Keep will hear ye," Cormac said, followed by a low groan.
"I can't help it," Una rasped, as she plunged back down onto his engorged cock, engulfing him completely in her slick heat. She moaned loudly.
"Damn it, wife, ye feel so good." He panted, then lifted his head and suckled a nipple.
He felt her shudder against him, her channel gripping him tighter. He knew she liked it.
They were naked on his large four-poster bed, Cormac on his back, Una above him, riding astride. Her hands were on his chest, nails dug into his skin for balance, as he gripped her hips hard and quickened the pace, slamming his full length upward into her.
"Harder!" she demanded.
"No!" he replied, breathless. "Remember the last time? Ye blamed me for making ye sore."
Una slapped his chest and growled. "Dinnae argue with me! I need to feel more of ye."
She yelped as Cormac flipped her over so he was on top.
He spread her thighs wider and pounded into her with hard, heavy strokes, his gaze never leaving hers.
He thrust so hard her succulent breasts bounced beneath him.
Then he felt her moving closer to climax, her heat gripping him tighter.
He was almost there too, but he needed to hold on until she found her bliss.
Cormac lowered his hand and began massaging the tiny nub at the apex of her heated core with his thumb as he slammed inside her.
Just as he thought he would release, he felt the moment she found hers.
Una let out a soundless scream, her entire body stiffening, her heat gripping him so hard as she came.
Cormac thrust three more times before burying himself to the hilt and emptying his seed deep inside her.
He groaned loudly as he saw stars. Slowly, they rode out their climax together.
Then he collapsed on top of her and kissed her soundly before shifting his weight and pulling her into his side.
Una's head tucked against his shoulder, his body enveloping hers.
Damn, but he loved his wife.
They lay in the afterglow of their second frenzied coupling of the morning. He knew once they regained their strength he would take her again, but for now he marveled at the contentment of having her in his arms, in his family home.
Since returning to Stewart Keep, they had been busy settling into their wing. Una's belongings from her cottage arrived in the second week after their return from Edinburgh, along with a visit from the MacKinnons. Una was thrilled to see Bella and play with baby Quinn.
They planned a visit to Kyleakin so she could say a proper goodbye to the villagers and her patrons, but that would happen after Nessa's wedding. For now they were remaining close to home, and Una was sewing Nessa's wedding dress.
This morning was the first time in several days they'd had to themselves, and they were indulging in it fully. They lay kissing, talking, just enjoying their time together, when they heard a commotion outside their door.
They had just enough time to cover up before the door to their bedchamber burst open.
A flustered Nessa stood on the threshold with her hand over her eyes. "Sorry, brother, Una, but I cannot wait any longer."
"What the bloody hell?" Cormac growled. "Can ye not knock!"
Una sat up, sheet pulled across her. "What is it, Nessa? What's wrong?"
"There is a big problem outside."
Cormac had thrown his plaid around him and was reaching for his sword. "What kind of problem?"
"My... ah... my betrothed is here. He's waiting at the gate. Seumas and the guards refuse to open them."
"What do ye mean he's at the gate?" Cormac asked.
Nessa slowly lowered her hand, checking they were covered, then dropped it altogether. "He's demanding we marry today."
"But the wedding is not until next week," Cormac growled.
"Torin says if ye dinnae let him in, he will burn the Keep to the ground."
"Where's Da? Where's Ninian?"
"Da is threatening to fight him with his bare hands and Ninian is still at the local tavern."
"Bloody hell! This family is unbelievable. Can a man not enjoy one moment's peace with his own damned wife?" Cormac growled as he put on his shoes and prepared to head downstairs.
Una placed her hand on his arm to calm him. "Let him in," she said.
"Like hell I'm letting that big brute inside without a fight."
Una turned to Nessa. "Go, dress, and prepare for our guest. Get Ma to organize a meal. Tell Da to stand down and give us a few minutes to greet yer betrothed."
Nessa looked visibly relieved. She nodded and left them to it.
"What are ye about, wife?" Cormac asked.
"Let's wash and dress and get ready to meet Torin before he does in fact burn down the Keep."
"Why?"
"Because, husband, can ye not see why he is here early?"
Cormac shook his head.
"That man has waited years to begin his life again. He was in a very dark place for a long time. The only light he sees is yer sister."
"So?"
"So, he does not want to marry her today."
"He doesn't?"
"No. He just wants to be near her. But he doesn't know how to ask for that without threatening to destroy things."
"And how do ye know all this, wife?"
"Because in the brief times we've met him, he reminds me of ye, and of Boyd. Ye're all cut from the same cloth. Let him in and he'll calm down."
"And what about Nessa?"
"Did she seem frightened to ye?" Una asked.
He shook his head.
"Exactly. She seemed almost eager."
Cormac thought on it, then nodded. "All right. But I'll still have guards surrounding him."
"That would be wise."
They washed and dressed and went down to meet their guest. Surprisingly, Cormac found Una was right.
By the time Torin Ruthven entered the Keep he was calmer, and even spoke more than one grunted word at a time.
But his intense gaze tracked Nessa wherever she went.
Nessa, for the most part, seemed nervous around him, though not frightened.
As Cormac sat beside Una, he couldn't help but thank the heavens he'd married her. He had no doubt that if Una had refused him, he would have kidnapped her a third time anyway.
He chuckled at the thought.
"What are ye laughing at?"
"I'm just thinking that I love ye, Una Stewart, and if ye had refused to marry me and escaped to MacKinnon Keep, I probably would have burned down the village."
Una grinned and kissed him gently on the lips. "I love ye too, Mr. Shadow."
As they sat back and watched the stilted interaction between Torin and Nessa, Cormac couldn't help but observe that things were about to get very interesting indeed.
