GLOSSARY OF SLANG
BMS : broke my scale i.e. in reference to someone’s attractiveness where on a scale of 1-10, they broke the scale, and their attractiveness is off the charts.
BSE: Big Suit Energy
MFW : my face when, used to indicate someone’s reaction in a scenario.
TFW : that feeling when, references a particular feeling in a specific situation.
It’s giving : used to reference something giving off a certain vibe.
Main character energy : you’re acting as if you’re the star of your own show. Used in a positive light.
Unalive : used as an alternative for kill.
Credit card slam : used in the same context as “shut up and take my money”.
Say sike rn : translates to “please tell me you’re joking right now”.
We stan a ____ queen/king : it means you’re a fan of that person and support them i.e. if a certain singer was focused on asking for permission before touching people while shooting a music video for one of their songs, you’d say, “We stan a consent king.”
Ick : something that someone does that is an instant turn-off for you, making you hate the idea of being romantically involved with them.
Sheesh : daaaamn!
rn : right now.
Soft launch: a subtle or indirect way of introducing a new relationship to social media
Hard launch: a sudden and public announcement of a relationship
Low key: used to express something in a subtle way, often to avoid being overly enthusiastic
Rizz: someone’s ability to attract others, especially in romantic or sexual context
Snack: someone attractive
Meal: someone who looks good enough to eat
Canon event: significant event that shapes a person’s life or who they are
Do it for the plot: said to encourage oneself to take a chance on something ie even if it doesn’t work out, I’ll do it for the plot
Left no crumbs: you did something perfectly
Just hit the TL : just hit the timeline; it’s blowing up
Dragging : To completely roast, tear down, call out, or shame someone—often in a savage, hilarious, or brutally honest way.
