Everlyn Chapter 12 #2

We navigated our way through them until we found parking.

It was hard with such a large group, but we did it.

I knew tonight we’d leave and stay at a nearby campground.

When Zephyr told me that part, I asked about tents and all that.

How would we bring those on bikes? He smiled and told me they didn’t rough it like that at this rally.

They had connections and lucked out on the accommodations.

He wouldn’t say what they were, so I was curious to see them later.

He offered me a hand, which I was glad I took because my legs felt shaky. I groaned as I swung off the bike. Zephyr smiled.

“You’ll regain your equilibrium soon. It’s kinda like what it feels like after being on a ship for an extended time. You have to get your land legs back,” Zephyr remarked as he easily got off without a moan or wince, and so did the rest of the club.

“I’ve never been on a ship, but I’ve always wanted to do it.”

“We can make that happen,” he said.

“Really? That would be so cool. I feel silly living right here in Florida, and I’ve never done it,” I confessed.

“There are a lot of people who have lived here their whole lives who haven’t. No worries, we’ll rectify that,” he assured me.

I noticed that as Zephyr took my hand and I took a moment to scan around us, we’d attracted the attention of others. From their expressions, they appeared to be curious. That was alright because I was equally curious about them.

“Where do you usually start?” I asked the group as they gathered around us.

“Anywhere is good. You’ll find lots of vendor stands too,” Pirate answered.

“They have such cute clothes at these things, Everlyn. We’ll be able to find even more biker-lady-worthy stuff,” Spoiler told me, grinning.

“Speaking of that, it’s hotter here than when we started out. You don’t have to wear those long sleeves right now,” Slayer added, winking.

Both of them were in short-sleeved tops that showed their tits off without showing too much.

Their cuts stood out. I saw several people, both men and women, eyeing them.

Smirking, I removed my cut, and Zephyr took it.

Then I unbuttoned my shirt and took it off.

When Zephyr saw what I wore underneath, his eyes widened.

The guys whistled. I admit that made me blush.

The top had cap sleeves, but they didn’t start until below the actual shoulder joint.

Sort of like the cold-shoulder style. However, this one had wide straps that went over the top of the shoulder and attached to the low front with three silver links.

The neckline skimmed the top of my tits and was a V-neck, edged in scalloped black lace.

The front was black, gray, and white, depicting a skull with scrollwork.

The back was solid black. It hugged my figure, and I had to admit that, given the size of my chest, it was impressive.

Instead of trying to minimize my tits, I let it take center stage.

“By the gods, we need somewhere private and more guns,” Zephyr muttered as he yanked me against him before latching onto my lips. He growled as he bit my lip, and I bit him back. It made him more frantic.

“Damn, I’m getting turned on,” Barbarian muttered.

There were grunts of agreement. I slowly pried myself away. Zephyr gave me a heated look that made my body flush even more as he helped me back into my property cut.

“Release her, and no one will have to get hurt,” Fenrir joked.

Zephyr bared his teeth at his best friend and growled. I laughed and twisted around to face the others.

“Alright, show me what this is all about. I want to see everything,” I said.

Zephyr retained a hold on my hand. As one, we spread out to form a loose cluster.

As we meandered and I took in the sights, I recalled what Zephyr told me when he asked me to come with him.

He had mentioned it was a rally and toy run combined.

I wasn’t sure exactly how a toy run worked, so he explained how this one worked, which was the general setup in most cases with small variations.

First, everyone gathered at a designated starting point to socialize before the ride.

A lot of the time, that would be a motorcycle dealership or a club.

In this case, it was this rally location.

Those participating brought new, unwrapped toys to donate.

At this one, they would pack the bikes with the toys.

That would occur on Saturday. Once loaded, all the bikers would ride together as a large procession to the final destination, where they would drop off the toys.

The spot for this one was a local charity that provided toys to underprivileged children and to kids in a local group home for foster kids not lucky enough to have an individual home.

The charity would wrap and distribute the gifts to the various kids.

The purpose was not only to ensure those children received gifts, but also to help the biking community raise awareness and donations for such charities year-round, not just during the holiday season.

Zephyr told me that, in some cases, children had found homes due to increased awareness and that others in the community, including businesses, began supporting the charity.

I thought it was incredible. And I made a note to work on something similar when I took over Moore Enterprises.

Maybe the company could do something jointly with the Prowlers.

I hadn’t mentioned it to Zephyr, but I tucked it away to be addressed at a later date.

It was too late to do it this year, but not next year. And I knew Allegra would be behind it.

The club’s contribution to the toy run had been packed into spare saddlebags and even strapped in canvas sea bags that were secured to the back of the Prowlers' bikes. I’d gotten to help shop for some of them. It had been a blast.

Our first stop was to find food. All of us were hungry.

The options available were like being at a carnival, all the great things that are terrible for you.

Once we’d finished eating, we leisurely wandered from vendor to vendor, checking out what they had for sale.

I discovered it wasn’t just those selling clothing.

Some were accessories for the actual bikes, such as saddlebags, and others provided jewelry and trinkets.

At an early one, I discovered gremlin bells, also called guardian bells by some.

They were about an inch-tall bells made of sterling silver, brass, or pewter, and available in a variety of themes—skulls, flags, angel wings, and more.

The story behind them was fascinating. I listened as the seller told it to me.

The bell was attached to the underside of the bike’s frame near the ground or near the foot pegs. Its purpose was to scare away what bikers called road gremlins, believed to cause mechanical issues, blown tires, potholes, and more.

The bell trapped the gremlins, and the constant ringing of the bell made them crazy, and they fell off the rider’s bike, thus protecting the rider and bike.

It was best if someone gifted the bell to the rider, because it doubled the protection it provided.

It represents good luck, brotherhood, protection, and even love.

I thought it was a wonderful tradition to follow and a great story.

One seller who had really cool ones. I was looking them over and saw a bell depicting a Viking’s head wearing the traditional horned helmet. Thinking of the Prowlers, I slipped the guy’s card in my pocket. I noted that he sold them online as well. I wanted to order them for the club, as a surprise.

Not long after leaving that table, we ended up standing at a vendor’s setup featuring mainly women’s clothing.

The guys dispersed to the tables nearby to look at other things that interested them.

I was with Slayer and Spoiler, so I insisted that Zephyr go with the guys.

He couldn’t argue with the logic that I was protected, so he went.
