Chapter 8

Jack

It was a half an hour before dinner time that Charlie showed up with a large bag in hand. “I have good news for you sweetheart. You will be having dinner at my place tonight,” she announced after closing the door.

“We what?” I gasped, not exactly understanding what Charlie is telling me. “I have convinced Dr. Kilroy to release you from the hospital into my care,” she told me exuberantly. “As of now, you live with me for as long as you’ll have me,” she added.

When she dumped out the bag, there was a new pair of jeans, a raspberry colored henley shirt and a new pair of sandals.

“How…did you know…?” Charlie smiled broadly.

I checked out the bloody clothes that you were delivered to the hospital in.

Even your sneakers were splashed with dark red blood,” she informed me. Head injuries bleed a lot.

“Now, go shower and get dressed. By the time you are dressed, the charge nurse will have your discharge papers all ready at the desk,” Charlie told me as she yanked the blankets off me. “Now go shower,” she repeated after a kiss on the cheek and a pat on my shoulder.

I considered jerking off in the shower, but I figured I should leave it alone. Chances are that we will be doing a lot more than just sleeping tonight. Yes, I want to be at peek performance for Charlie tonight.

My eyes keep drifting over to gawk at the very short, cropped halter top she is wearing. With no bra on, I see her bare tits peek out the bottom of the top with each bump or pothole we go over. “You sure like them titties…Hugh?” Charlie Chuckled.

“Oh no, I LOVE those titties,” I blurted out without hesitation. Just then, she drove over a pot hole and her tits jumped out the bottom of her top. “Yessssssss,” I sighed as I gawked at her gorgeous breasts.

As soon as we were in Charlies lovely home near the woods in Woodinville, I pulled her into my arms and kissed her soundly. When I reached under her top to fondle her bare breasts, she pushed me back and said we must have dinner first.

I was surprised when she called a pizza place and ordered two Philly Cheese sandwiches to be delivered to her house and a liter of cola.

You’re gunna love this, she told me after hanging up the phone.

After the sandwiches were delivered and I had my first bite, I knew that I just found my new favorite food.

I’m thinking that in the future I may prefer beer with this meal, but the soda is good for now. As a dessert afterward, she had also ordered some small chocolate bunt cakes that were coated with chocolate syrup. Definitely my new favorite meal.

I have called Jack’s cell repeatedly to ask forgiveness and to get him to bail me out of jail. Evidently, he has blocked this number just like he blocked my cell. Now I have to wait till Monday to see if the public defended that has been assigned to my case can get a reasonable bail.

I never mean for Jack to get hurt in any way. If he had just came home when he was supposed to, this whole mess could have been avoided.

I have never felt so humiliated when my mug shot was taken with my hair a mess and no makeup on. Except maybe the process of being finger printed and officially charged.

Assault with Grave Bodily Harm. Reckless Endangerment and Depraved Indifference are the three main charges I am facing. Also included is Assisting in an assault, failure to provide aid and Reckless Disregard of Human Life.

Evidently, they are throwing the book at me to find out exactly what will stick. What scares the hell out of me is that it feels like all of those charges could stick with the right judge and jury.

I did not hit Jack. But I did fail to call 911 when he was obviously seriously injured. I did carelessly dump his unconscious body on the floor just inside the entrance of the hospital emergency room.

From what the Detective me was that there is video of me and Damian dumping him on that floor. From what the Detective told me, Jack nearly died from his injury and had to have a hole drilled into his head to relieve the pressure from the injury.

He told me that the doctor will come to court and explain how seriously Jack was injured. How close to death he had been. How he had to be kept in a medically induced coma to allow his brain to recover for a month. That it took several weeks to regain his memory.

The cheap public defender that has been assigned to me told me that maybe we could the charges reduced if we would turn states witness in the case against Damian.

Part of me feels like that is a good idea. But then, how will Damian take it? Will he send some of his gang members to silence me? Right now, I am scared out of my wits.

The public defender told me that maybe I could be put into the witness protection program if I will witness against Damian who is well known as a dangerous Gang Boss.

Yeah, that could work. Change my name, move to a new state and start over. I’m pretty sure that I have some juicy info about Damian to share.
