Chapter 33 #2

I didn’t have to be told twice. Snaking my hand between my legs, I leaned back and braced myself on one of his thighs with the other. With my hips tilted towards him I plunged my fingers inside of me, first two and then three.

My fingers weren’t nearly as thick as his, but it was better than nothing.

I let my head fall back and my eyes fluttered closed as I imagined his hand filling me instead, stretching me.

I worked myself into a frenzy, hoping to taunt him, daring him to shove my hand away and fill me with his cock.

The thought of it was hot enough to nearly send me over the edge, but before I could get there my hand was pulled away.

I opened my eyes to see a ribbon of shadow wrapped around it, holding it in front of his face.

“I thought you were out—”

“I have just enough for this,” he said. With a smirk, he grabbed my hand and sucked my fingers clean, scattering my thoughts. “You’re not allowed to come yet.” His shadows yanked my hand back behind me, resting it on his other leg.

Before I could free the other, a ribbon of shadow wrapped around that one as well, securing it in place so that I was stuck leaning back, both my hands on his thighs, my chest thrust forward. There was just enough give so that I could tap his leg if I needed to.

I wiggled desperately, looking for any kind of friction, but the angle didn’t allow for it. A desperate whine left me.

“Patience, darling. I want to look at you.” His eyes traveled over my body as if cataloguing each and every line and generous curve, every mark and scar, until I was ready to combust.

Then he leaned forward and sucked one of my nipples into his mouth.

My head fell back again, and my eyes closed as I savored the feeling of his tongue swirling, his mouth sucking, his teeth grazing. My whole body jerked in response, and I felt him smile against my skin. Then he did it again.

“Gods.” I could come from just this.

He moved to my other breast, giving it the same treatment, while his hands bracketed my waist.

This time I knew he’d withdraw, but I still whimpered. I was so wet I was practically dripping, and if he didn’t fuck me soon, I might go mad.

“Do you have something to say, darling?”

I nodded and he loosened my gag, wiping the dribs of saliva from my mouth gently as I found my voice.

“Please.” My voice was hoarse. “Please, fuck me.”

He regarded me for a moment, debating.

“Please. I’m sorry. I didn’t—There wasn’t—Please,” I babbled, barely aware of what I was saying.

“Since you ask so nicely…” The ribbons of shadows disappeared, and he lifted me from his lap as if I weighed nothing.

His eyes glowed faintly as he set me on my feet and positioned me in front of his desk so that I faced away from him, his hands on my waist. “Put your hands on the desk and lean forward.”

I slapped my hands on the desk, hoping he wouldn’t make me wait much longer.

Shadows circled my ankles, pulling my legs back and apart so I was perfectly positioned. I didn’t even hear him drop his pants before he plunged into me with one thrust. Finally.

The relief was sweet as he filled me to the brim. We both moaned. Then he gripped my hips and fucked me hard and fast.

From this angle, I took him deeper than I ever had. He hit that perfect spot inside me with every thrust. The pace he set was punishing; his strokes were just shy of brutal. My breasts rubbed against the smooth surface of his desk, the friction exquisite.

“Fuck, you feel good.” Fen said it like a curse.

“You always do. Fucking perfect. I should keep you locked in our room, tied to our bed, so you can’t get into trouble.

Keep you fed and fucked and safe.” His grip on me tightened and I cried out at the exquisite pricks of pain that amped up my pleasure.

I pushed my hips back into every thrust, urging him deeper still.

His words devolved into short phrases. So good for me. Perfect cunt. Fucking take it. It was filthy and rough and utterly perfect.

Our bond flared to life. The three notes I’d heard before sounded, deep and resonant, a perfect chord.

His desire for me thundered through me, a primal undercurrent driving him to claim me.

Because that’s what this was. A claiming.

Like he was trying to brand himself on my body.

And my soul. So he’d never be able to lose me.

The realization shoved me over the edge of my climax, and I shouted his name as I shattered.

He came a moment later, his grip on my hips tightening as he shuddered and groaned my name.

We lay over the desk, panting, Fen’s body heavy and warm against mine. My body tingled from the force of my orgasm. Contentment and satisfaction filled our bond in a slow swell.

He stroked my hip as he pulled out, his touch gentle now. The pressure on my back disappeared as he stood. There was a rustle of fabric, and then a soft cloth was pressed between my legs, cleaning me with soft presses. His shirt, I realized.

When he was done, I pushed off the desk with a groan and turned. My limbs trembled.

Fen grabbed a blanket from the couch and draped it over my shoulders. “Was that okay?” The concern in his eyes sent me stumbling forward, melting into his arms.

“It was amazing.” I buried my face in his bare chest, inhaling his cherry and musk scent.

Pride crept into our bond, making me smile. I sank into his embrace, my eyes closed. I wanted to savor the moment before we finally hashed out the power limitation problem. Except I fell asleep before we could.

I woke hours later in our bed. Alone. Again.

Dropping my head to my chest, I sighed heavily.

I’d hoped Fen would be lying next to me, that we could have the conversation we needed to have while lying comfortably in bed, but things didn’t stop just because I’d passed a trial.

Heaving myself out of bed, I went to grab some clothes.

As I dressed, I checked in on our bond. Fen felt far away, which meant he was probably in the Dungeon. I’d track him down there and not let him out of my sight until we talked, but there was one thing I needed to do first.

* * *

I light-stepped into a corridor filled with wooden doors on my way back from the Guardian’s lair, Fen’s power levels having recovered enough for me to make it there and back.

My visit had been brief, just long enough to confirm I’d passed the second trial and get the instructions for the third, which were even more opaque than the last. Trust what will be.

It was up to me to figure out what that meant.

I probably should have seen that coming, but it didn’t make it any less irritating.

A problem for another time.

I was here to find Fen. Using our connection, I’d light-stepped directly to him, but I wasn’t sure where I was.

I’d never been here before. The corridor was made of shadow and stone.

Sconces on the walls flickered with warm light.

Every few doors, there were alcoves much like the ones in the Soul Library, and to my right was a crossing hallway.

There were numbers on each door, etched in glittering black.

It was quiet, the air hushed, as if the place was holy.

This must be where they kept the souls that were sentenced to time with the Devil.

Or maybe it was something else entirely.

All I knew was that Fen was on the other side of the door in front of me, and if the agitation in our bond was any indication, he was in distress.

Jittery energy filled my limbs, and I swam in horror, shame, and…

pleasure? How I hadn’t felt it earlier I didn’t know, but this close our connection was saturated with it.

I burst into the room to find Fen standing over a cowering figure. Shadows wreathed them both, snaking from Fen’s hands into the other person and back as he inhaled them, like he was feeding.

“No, please,” the man on the floor pleaded, his voice stretched with pain. “No more.”

My eyes went wide. The voice was familiar. “Colt?”
