Chapter Sixteen

PRAISE

Times like this reminded me of the old me, the ruthless me.

When I really lived up to my street name.

I had been working on practices that my therapist told me to do.

I had to merge Beast and myself together.

We were the same, only way to tackle your mental illnesses was to accept it and understand you had some sort of disorder.

I stopped taking my pills, since the last time Kayori made Beast pop them after Laquanna popped up at her house.

I missed my daughter like crazy. At first, I thought staying away from Kayori would make things better. It had made me moodier and crazier.

A week ago, I had started to plot. It just wasn’t the same without Stone.

Right after Stone got hit, so did my trap spots that I had Teflon over.

I knew without a doubt it was him. Which is why every nigga that worked under him was dead in the ground stankin’.

I had backup niggas and other trap spots that I did operate in cities other than L.A.

Them niggas were hungry and happy to step in and kill them niggas, taking over their spots in areas while placing more money in their hands.

I put a nigga in charge of it all, directed him to a new plug.

All I expected was twenty percent from his monthly intake which was being nice.

Teflon sent me a million text messages about how he never wanted shit to go this far and how we were brothers.

Funny how the nigga reminded me so much that we were blood brothers, but he didn’t consider that shit before he double-crossed me.

That brother shit was dead. The only person I apologized to was my mother.

Although she wasn’t speaking to me, I understood her position.

I even understood why she treated me how she treated me.

She didn’t know how to cope or deal with a son that had a mental issue at such a young age.

I also knew that since Beast was a part of me, something inside of me held resentment.

The sane part of me loved my momma regardless of her actions.

We didn’t pick the parents; God chose them for us.

So, I was grateful for what I had. I couldn’t put shit behind me, wasn’t no bending the rules when it came to those who betrayed me.

Not even Laquanna. I never wanted to kill her, but Beast did.

Now I agreed because she went too far. I haven’t even thought much about Nia, that part of me healed when it came to mourning her so-called death.

She too would answer to it all as well, I just prayed that I didn’t choke up when it came to her.

I was once deeply in love with Nia, and I’d be lying if I said I still didn’t love her or my brother through their betrayal.

Kayori would have to step up and help me with Mattea.

When I went to her house, I rode the backseat to Beast. His intentions were to stay with Kayori, he was in love with her and so was I.

The only difference was, I loved her enough to try to let her go and still protect her.

I wanted to tell her that we couldn’t be anything and that I would protect her from afar.

I just didn’t want to hurt Kayori because she had been through enough of that.

So, before we got any deeper, I was going to cut ties.

However, I choked up when I looked in her pretty face.

There was a rage inside of me that I felt I couldn’t control.

That rage was Beast, daring me to break things off with Kayori.

I was thankful for that because, truth be told, even I knew I couldn’t really cut her off if I wanted to.

A part of me felt like I was the reason Nia decided to play dead.

She knew I wouldn’t have let her walk away so easily.

I needed to look her in the eyes and see if all that love I thought she once had for me was real or was that fake too.

I never thought of her being a lesbian, and how far did it go.

I wondered if she played me when we were together and cheated on me with countless of bitches or was it just Laquanna.

My thoughts kept getting the best of me, I tried to let shit go and handle my shit because, in the end, they all could rest in straight rat piss.

I sat in silence; Kayori was probably at my house waiting for me.

I wondered what she had on and could imagine the smell of her.

I needed to get her off my mind and handle the business that was important to getting me two steps closer to my daughter.

I smoked a blunt, not caring where I ashed it.

When I left this nigga’s house, it would be burnt down to the ground.

He wasn’t at all expecting me, he didn’t even know I suspected him.

I wish I would have killed him soon after the office incident when he challenged me about Kayori and threw Nia in my face.

I promised Beast than that I would kill him.

I ended up dragging my damn feet at doing that and I wished like hell I didn’t.

Stone wouldn’t have gotten shot. Putting my silencer on my Desert Eagle, the darkness of his apartment engulfed me.

I had a rage so fierce inside of me it caused my breathing to become abnormal.

I tried to bury Beast inside of me a long time ago.

People forced my hand to the max over the years; it’s like they wanted to see me as a monster.

I received a text with one simple word, Done, and smiled.

Kayori would be pissed, but in my mind, it was for the better.

There was no moving and getting her own damn apartment.

She belonged to me, and I wouldn’t see it any other way.

I didn’t want her living alone. Beast wasn’t going for that shit, he already had negative thoughts thinking she was cheating when she wasn’t near us.

Snapping out of my thoughts, I heard this bitch ass nigga put the key in his door to open it.

He was in a deep conversation until he opened his door realizing it was dark.

“I could’ve sworn I left a light on. Baby, I’ll call you back when I’m headed your way… Why the fuck do it smell like weed in here?”

Big mistake, he closed and locked the door behind him.

I was starting to become impatient with how long his ass took to turn on the light and see me sitting on his love seat.

He flipped the light on and I offered him a sinister smile, aiming my gun at him.

It was the only warning I had to offer if he tried to get clever and run.

My trigger fingers were too fast and by now, my men had already surrounded his house.

“I hope you got pussy last night… tonight your kissing death.”

This nigga trembled, and then the front of his cargo pants became wet with urine.

“Beast, why you in-”

Holding my hand up, he automatically shut up. I didn’t have time for the fake ass shit. He was a very smart man, so he should have known why the fuck I was here. I wasted no time shooting him in the shoulder, then his knee before he winced out in pain and dropped down to his knees.

“I don’t need closure from you, Don. I already know you a thirsty ass nigga… You never really liked me, so your betrayal came easy.”

When I got to his house earlier, I retrieved rubbing alcohol. Picking it up off the coffee table, I stood to my feet. Smiling as I approached him, I popped the top as his eyes got huge.

“Where the fuck is my daughter, Don?”

A simple question that deserved a simple answer, I was going to get the answers out of Don one way are another.

“Man, you gon’ kill me anyway! I’m not saying shit! Fuck you!”

“ARRRRGGGGGHHHHHHH” he screamed loud as hell as I shot him right in the knee. I planned torture; it always got the answers I needed faster. I also knew I needed to wrap this up fast as possible.

“Wrong answer. I can make this quick or drawn out… whichever way, you will be sure to regret not talking sooner. Understand?”

He remained silent, which further pissed me off. I proceeded to pour the alcohol on his knee that was oozing blood.

“AARRRRRRGGGGHHHH FUCCCCKKKKKK, BEAST! OKAY, OKAY!” Tears streamed down his face as snot dripped down his nose.

“She’s at Laquanna’s momma’s house in West Covina. They’re trying to plot a way to rob you for more money and…”

I silenced him, with one head shot, then stepped over him and walked out with no remorse.

My men walked in to clean it all up as I thought, “One down a couple more to go.”

I guess it was time to send Laquanna’s momma to her final resting place.

Playing with my emotions by taking my daughter away was the wrong fucking move.

The only reason I let it drag out this long was because I had to get shit together.

I liked to plan shit out thoroughly before getting my baby girl and explaining to her how she would probably never see her mom again.

In a couple of minutes, Teflon and the rest would know their time was coming.

My men were instructed to snap a picture of Don, then send it straight to Teflon’s phone.

He could keep running but he sure as hell couldn’t hide long from me.
