24. Kayori #2

Lay chuckled as we both shared a knowingly laugh.

I wasn’t into whooping kids like that, but I was super good at doing punishments.

Mattea knew she couldn’t play me like she did her dad.

I would happily turn the tv off and make her sit with one toy.

It drove her crazy, but she would get her act together after five minutes.

“Meet me back in the front, I want to take a quick mud bath and then shower.”

“Okay, I’m not doing all that. I’ll just get a facial after I shower and meet you in the front for our feet and nails.”

“Bet.”

That massage had me feeling so well and rested.

My limbs felt good, and I didn’t realize how bad I needed that massage.

Almost dragging my feet to the locker room to get my second change of clothes, I got an eerie feeling but shook it off.

Things had been going so well, I prayed daily for them not to go bad.

Every time I got this feeling though something happened, I just prayed it wasn’t today.

I knew the type of man I was with; he was powerful and had a lot going on.

He kept me well protected at all times, so I knew I had nothing to worry about.

It still didn’t stop the worry that I battled with.

I worried for his safety and wondered if anyone was still after him.

Things just didn’t disappear and go away.

He kept his business secretive, so I didn’t know how he was operating when it came down to Laquanna, his ex, and his damn brother.

I was sure if I asked him, he would tell me every detail.

That’s what I loved about Praise, he didn’t lie or try to hide shit to accommodate my feelings.

If I asked, he told. If I didn’t ask, he didn’t offer the information.

Shaking those thoughts off, I pep talked myself.

I was okay with not knowing, I felt like it wasn’t my business to know as long as it didn’t affect me.

Today was about me relaxing and enjoying my day, not worrying about the what ifs.

Putting my locker code in, I opened it and grabbed my items before closing it back.

When I looked up to make my way to the shower room, my stomach dropped, I held my clothes tight as my mouth opened.

“Kayori, please don’t scream… I’m not here to hurt you, I just need help.”

“Teflon, what the fuck… how the hell you get in here past my bodyguards?” I swallowed down, wondering how he maneuvered back here and why was he even here to begin with.

“I need you to please talk to Beast… I need help, I’m lost out here. If I just reveal myself, then he is going to kill me. You’re my only way.”

Tears fell down his ashy ass face. He looked pitiful with dry cracked up lips. His once thick frame was sunken. He was all bones, Teflon looked bad as hell. I actually felt bad for him.

“I just want to go be with my mom. I can’t keep hiding…

just take my number. Tell B that I ain’t on no more fuck shit.

Laquanna is trying to get me to kidnap you.

I’m not doing that shit, she’s getting real desperate because Nia left her like Gunna left me…

I couldn’t even make his funeral,” his voice got caught in his throat.

He looked like he wanted to break down. Handing him my phone, I allowed him to put his number in as he called his phone to store mine.

“I’ll try to talk to him, Teflon. Until then, you better lay low as possible.”

He nodded his head and looked relieved. Pulling his dirty white hoody over his head, he prepared to leave.

“Thanks for the heads up, Tef.”

Looking back at me he smiled, showing his missing front teeth.

He hurriedly walked through the back instead of the front, which let me know he was taking the emergency exit out.

My mind went to Laquanna. I wasn’t no killer, and I didn’t wish death on nobody, but that bitch was starting to make my ass itch.

The hard part now was telling Meshalay we had to leave.

I felt like Teflon wasn’t on no bullshit, but at the same time I didn’t trust people based off their words.

Teflon was able to outsmart the security that Beast had watching me for the day, and that didn’t sit well with me. Now I had to go home and face the music, I just prayed Praise didn’t act a damn fool.

Pulling back up to Meshalay house, she got out as I remained in the car.

I told her to let Praise and Mattea know that I was ready to go home.

I tried to spin how I would tell him his brother popped up on me in my head.

One thing for certain, I had to get Mattea settled first, I didn’t need Praise going big in front of her.

I really didn’t even know how he would react to the news.

Jitters filled me, my hands became sweaty, I was nervous as hell.

Ten minutes later Praise was walking out the door holding hands with Mattea.

He looked happy as hell that we were back early.

“Baby, why you cut it short? I told you we were fine.”

He kissed me on the lips, then opened the back door to make sure Mattea was secured in her booster seat.

Once he got in the passenger seat, he let his seat back and rested his head on the headrest. Praise was tired a lot from his medication.

Holding his hand, I pulled off with his security following closely behind us.

I hoped Praise took it easy on them after he found out that his brother was able to get up on me while I was out.

“I was so tired from the massage. I told them that we would come back next week.”

I kept my eyes focused on the road. If I looked at him, he would be able to detect something being wrong.

“What’s wrong with you, Yori?”

I could see him from my peripheral staring intently at me while rubbing his beard.

“Nothing baby just tired that’s all.”

Nodding his head, we both stayed quiet the whole ride to the house.

My stomach was in knots. Fumbling with the radio, I put on Sade.

Ordinary Love was my favorite song, the instruments calmed me.

The rest of the car ride was silent, Sade always did the job for me and Praise.

He rubbed my hand, looking out the window.

“I can feel you, Yori… When shit ain’t right, when you’re holding back from me, and when something bothering you, I can feel everything with you, even your arousal. Your love pours into me constantly. We got some heavy soul tie type of shit going on.”

He looked at me as I glanced at him and smiled. Praise words always were poetic and deep.

“I can feel you too, baby.”

Nodding his head, he brought my hand to his thick lips and kissed the back of it.

“Whatever you got to tell me, just hold off. I need to taste you and relax my nerves by getting high off you. I don’t need shit dampening the mood.”

“Okay baby.”

I needed to release as bad as he did. I had a feeling that things were about to take a turn for worse.
