“One more.”
Jen sighed as Adam laced his fingers through hers.
They had already been to four houses that day, and none of them had felt right.
Both had wanted to stay in Shoreton Point, even though there were limited options, but they had finally branched out into a new development built just on the outskirts of town.
The homes had been beautiful, but there had been something missing in each of them.
“Adam, maybe we should pick it up another day.” The August sun beat down on them, and she was starting to sweat from walking around the neighborhood.
“It’s just around the corner. If you don’t like it, we can go, ok? I’ll go get the car and come get you, and we can go get ice cream in town.”
She shot him a mock glare. “There had better be coffee ice cream and caramel sauce there.”
“I make no promises on the flavors they have.” Adam chuckled as he tugged her down a cul-de-sac.
There was only one house on the street, and her steps faltered as they approached it.
A “for sale” sign was discreetly tucked near its mailbox.
The house was big, but not obnoxious; a mixture of natural stone and white siding with dark green shutters.
The flower beds were empty, but as they stepped closer, she could picture a riot of colors there, spilling out into the large yard.
“How are we going to get in? I don’t see a realtor here.”
“I called the agent that represents the house and got the code this morning.” His blue eyes danced as he watched her. “Just in case, you know?”
“Why do I feel like there’s something you haven’t told me?” She gave him a side glance as he entered the code and the door slid open.
“I thought you trusted me?” He chuckled as he gestured her in.
“That’s debatable right now.”
Her words ended in a gasp as she stepped into the foyer. The room was large enough to be the living room and dining room with an open kitchen tucked into the right corner. But what drew her gaze was the back wall, which was almost all windows.
“Oh my god, that view…”
The house sat at the upper edge of a hill, with an unrestricted view of the forest and Appalachian Mountains.
“Yeah, it’s what called to me.” His voice was soft as he stepped behind her and wrapped his arms around her waist. “It felt like the vista on the trail.”
“It’s gorgeous,” she whispered.
“You want to see some more of it?”
When she nodded, he stepped back, taking her hand to walk through the house.
With each room, she fell a little more in love.
The rooms were painted in shades of cream, light sage, and the palest of blues.
Neutral colors that mimicked the light and view from the many windows.
Her mind was spinning with ways to use each room, including one that was tucked next to what had to be the master bedroom, which was painted in a pale yellow that screamed that it needed to be a nursery.
Oh, she wanted that to be her nursery.
“I love it,” she breathed as she entered the master bedroom, noting the lush cream carpet on the floor and the light gray walls. “I absolutely love it.”
“Thank fuck,” Adam said under her breath, and she spun to face him.
“Adam, what did you do?”
“I… may have bought this for us?”
“The hell, Adam, we were going to choose together!”
“I know, I know.” He rushed to grab her hands before she could step away.
“But, Jen, the moment I saw it, I pictured it; us. Us in the kitchen making dinner, us on the deck outside watching the sunset, hosting a BBQ party for our kids. And when I spoke with the agent, there had already been several people interested, and I figured if I didn’t, we could lose it, and if you hated it, I could just sell it again, easy.
” He drew her hands up to place a kiss on her fingers.
“But it was us. It’s for us. I knew just looking at it. ”
Jen pursed her lips as she watched him. His eyes grew panicked the longer she was silent.
After several moments, she let out a huff. “Why are you always so right about things?”
“Yeah?” His face broke into a grin when she nodded back.
“It’s perfect.” She spun to face the window in the bedroom that overlooked the same view as the living room. “It’s absolutely perfect.”
They strolled hand in hand through their house. While she was exasperated that he had bought it without showing it to her, it really was perfect.
“You know what that means though, don’t you?” His breath teased her ear as they walked through the main room again.
“Hmm?” She hummed, her mind too caught up in the furniture they would need. They had two weeks until his season started, and while he had training camp most days, he still had weekends to be able to shop.
Her thoughts short-circuited when he hauled her over his shoulder. “Adam, what the fuck are you…” Her words trailed off when he set her down on the counter.
His hands trailed up her knee to slide under the skirt of her dress.
“I told you what I would do if we had our own counter.” His lips found her neck as his fingers slid towards her hip. “And, look at that. Now we do.”
“I…” She gasped as his thumb brushed against her through her underwear. “I seem to recall you saying something about fewer clothes, though.”
“Oh, we’ll get there.” He chuckled as his fingers slid under her panties to touch her heat. “But first.”
A loud rip rang through the room, and Jen pulled back to stare at him with her eyes wide.
“Did you just—ADAM.” She screamed as he lifted her dress and dove in, his tongue finding her core immediately. Her back arched as he flicked her clit with the tip of his tongue. “Fuck.”
“You taste so fucking good.” He groaned as he pushed a finger into her heat, moving it in time with his tongue. “I’m addicted to you; I could taste you every minute and still want more.”
“Adam,” she panted as he drove another finger into her, his other hand holding her still so she couldn’t meet his fingers and tongue. “Oh, god, please.”
“You sound so pretty when you beg.” He shifted her dress with his head to capture her gaze.
His movements slowed down, and she let out a cry of protest as he pulled his hand away from her entirely.
“Sorry, but I want full access, so this needs to go.” His mouth trailed her neck as he lowered the zipper of her dress and threw it to the floor, her bra soon following.
“Now keep your eyes on me; I want you to see how much I enjoy making you come.”
“Holy shit,” she breathed as his mouth latched onto her again, three fingers now filling her. He groaned as he ate her; she felt rather than heard it as it vibrated through her body. Her eyes closed as she felt herself tightening.
“Eyes on me, or I stop,” he commanded
Her eyes popped back open to meet his.
“Good girl,” he rasped, making her gasp.
“Adam, I’m—” Her hips strained against his hold, desperate to meet him, but he only smiled in response.
“Come for me. Come for me in our new house.”
She screamed as electricity coursed through, sending wave after wave of pleasure through her body.
“Gorgeous. So fucking gorgeous,” he moaned as his tongue shifted to lap up her release.
“Adam…” she panted, her hand grasping his hair to pull him up. “I need you.”
“I don’t have anything with me, love. I just—”
“I don’t care, I need you in me, now.” She wrapped her legs around his hips as she attacked his belt and zipper.
“Fuck, baby, slow down.” He groaned as her hand wrapped around his length, her thumb circling the tip where a drip of pre-cum leaked.
“No, no slowing down,” she demanded, pulling him closer until his cock was lined up with her entrance. “I want it fast, I want it hot, and I want you now.”
With a growl, he gave her exactly what she asked for as he thrust himself into her.
“Jesus, fuck, Jen,” he breathed as he set a fast rhythm with his hips. “Fuck, I can feel you surrounding me.”
“Faster, please…” she begged as she pushed herself to meet his strokes. The fire inside her flared higher, and her hands caught in his shirt as she whimpered against him. The feeling of him inside her with nothing between them was making her spiral higher as he moved.
His finger brushed against her clit, and she froze, her body tightening to a blend of pleasure and pain.
“Come for me. Come on, my cock, then I’m going to fill you with my cum.” His finger flicked against her in time with his thrusts.
The world went white when she came on a scream, her body convulsing around him. His hoarse shout joined hers as a flood of heat filled her, setting off another wave of pleasure.
Her head collapsed against his neck as both their breathing was ragged.
“Yeah, I see the appeal now,” she panted, and Adam chuckled in response.
“This is going to be one of my favorite rooms in the house.” He placed a kiss on her collarbone before slowly pulling himself out. “I’ll think about this every time we come in here to cook, so expect this to happen often.”
“No complaints here,” she murmured as she nuzzled her head against him.
“When you’re ready, let’s head to the furniture store.” Adam nuzzled her as she groaned.
“You want me to move after that?” She whined. “Why…?”
“Because I want to get a bed and get it delivered here as fast as possible. Everything else can wait, but I want to fall asleep with you in my arms and wake up with you right there.”
Jen thought for a moment, weighing the pros and cons.
“Okay.” She popped an eye open to give him a mock glare. “But you know you ruined my underwear.”
“We’ll stop off at your dad’s if you want to change. But we need a bed, even just a mattress, as soon as fucking possible, because now that we have a space that is ours, we should take advantage.”
Adam grabbed her dress off the floor and handed it to her before tucking himself back into his shorts.
“Never been ravaged before.” He grinned at her as she pulled the fabric over her head.
“Didn’t hear you complaining.” She smirked as she closed the zipper.
“And you never will.” He leaned in to kiss her shoulder. “I love you so much.”
“I love you too.” She placed a soft kiss on his lips, tasting herself on them. Once, that would have made her uncomfortable, but with Adam, it just made her want more. “Now, if you want to go shopping, we should go before round two.”
“No round two until there is a mattress.” He groaned. “The floor would be too hard.”
“Do the showers work?” She wondered out loud and laughed when he grabbed her into his arms to run and check.
