Teagan

Ileaned into the heater at my front, loving the scent as well. I moved closer, wanting the heat to surround me. I pulled the blanket over my shoulder, and the heat enveloped me. I moaned and snuggled closer.

“You move any closer, and we’ll be forever connected.”

I jumped and opened my eyes. The sunlight in the room was dimming, but I could still see Tristan beside me. I looked up at him and wiggled against him. He was still here. I ignored the flutter in my heart and focused on the present.

“You’re so warm.” And I had no idea why I was freezing.

“Mhm…”

He kissed my head, and I put my face back against his chest. I dozed off again and awakened to the room being completely dark. I tried to pull away, but Tristan held fast. I tapped his shoulder, and he awakened a bit, groaning the whole time.

“I have to pee,” I whispered.

“How does your ankle feel?”

I stretched my foot and felt a pinch. I winced and searched for a safe answer to the question.

“I felt that,” Tristan replied before I could. He slid off the bed and walked around to my side. He picked me up and headed down the hall to the bathroom.

“I could’ve walked.”

I pouted. I put my arms around his neck to keep my balance.

“Mhm…” He put me down on my feet next to the toilet and turned to walk away.

It was then I noticed he was still naked. Wait, so was I.

“I’ll be outside the door, waiting,” he firmly stated.

“I can walk!” I protested and hoped he didn’t catch the whine at the end.

He shut the door, officially blocking me out.

There was a mirror across from me, showing all the damage from the fight.

I looked at my face and saw the blood appearing on the gauze.

I hoped it wouldn’t leave a mark there. I turned and winced when I tried to put pressure on my foot.

I managed to use the bathroom and then wash my hands.

When that was over, Tristan opened the door and carried me back to bed without letting me get a word in edgewise.

He was wearing boxers, and he sat me down on the same side of the bed I’d awoken on.

My stomach growled, and he looked at my belly and chuckled.

“Hungry?”

“A little,” I said, embarrassed.

“Mac went to handle some things. What do you want to eat? I’ll grab it.”

“He made baked chicken yesterday with mashed potatoes and gravy, which sounds amazing right now.”

“I see Mac spoils you.” Tristan folded his arms, awaiting a response.

“Sometimes. Especially after my heat. I guess he figures if he can’t do anything else, why not help me get my strength back?”

“Your heat takes a lot out of you?” Tristan rubbed his chin, drawing my eyes to his goatee.

“Yup, unfortunately, I wake up more tired than before he knocks me out.”

“A side effect?” he wondered.

“Perhaps. I figured it was from all of the activity in my brain,” I admitted. Bond and dream walking should affect me, right?

Tristan nodded and began backing up toward the door. “All right. I’ll be back.”

Tristan walked down the hall, and I heard him opening and closing things.

About twenty minutes later, he came into the room with my tray of food.

He had a bowl of mashed potatoes and gravy and a plate filled with too much chicken.

I noticed only one spoon and two drinks.

I was puzzled but didn’t say anything. He sat the tray between us on the bed, broke a piece of the chicken into mouth sized sections, then fed them to me.

At first it seemed weird, and when I tried to take it from him, he growled at me.

When I took them from him with my mouth, he nodded his approval.

He swirled the chicken into the gravy just like I liked and fed me the perfect mouth full of food as if I’d done it myself.

When I was nice and full, he handed me my drink to wash it down.

He then started in on the rest of the food.

“Why didn’t you eat before? If you would have let me feed myself, we could have both eaten by now.”

“As your mate, it is my duty to make sure you are happily fed before I eat. It is my job to care for you first and then to take care of my own desires after. When you’re sated, nothing else matters.”

I blushed and nodded. What else could I really say to those words? He was putting me first. Maybe he was serious about our arrangement.

“That’s in all things, Drahomíra.”

I didn’t think it was possible, but I blushed more. I tried not to let my mind wander, but I failed. In our walks, he always let me come first. He’d touch me until I couldn’t handle any more. Completely satisfied and spent. Oh, god.

Tristan got up and put the tray away. Shortly after, he came back to the room.

“Let me see your wounds.” He checked and changed my bandages. He touched the sensitive skin around it, looking for signs of who knew what. “You’re healing nicely. I just need to change the bandages.”

I laid still as he went about tending to me. He kissed each wound before sealing them away. I didn’t tell him how much the gesture meant. Speechless. He was tender, kind, and almost loving in the way he cared for me. Internally, I fussed at my heart for feeling warm and fuzzy when he was done.

Tristan then grabbed the remote from the TV and climbed into bed beside me.

He turned on a game show I hadn’t seen before, and we shouted answers at the screen.

It was nice to have the companionship and, when the show went off, I picked a movie for us to watch.

I cuddled up to him and not long after, I was asleep. Safe.

Sometime during the night, Tristan woke me to change my dressing again.

We laid there in the darkness, talking. When I started to doze again, I felt Tristan nibbling at my lips.

I allowed it, and when he went in for a kiss, I welcomed the gesture.

The kiss was different than the others. Our first real kiss.

It was slow, deliberate, and exploring. No wars, no fights, no family vendettas to settle, no heat, just woman and man, enjoying the feel of each other.

We conquered one another’s mouths and allowed our tongues to lead the way.

It was nice to let the kiss naturally build between us instead of it being rushed and induced by sex. Sensual.

There was no right or wrong way to do it. No thoughts making me trip over what to do next. He led, I followed. I pushed, he pulled. He coaxed me for more but demanded nothing. Each response was a result of being present and just feeling. He tasted wickedly sinful. And I wanted my fill of him.

I put my arms around his neck and let my fingers play at his nape, enjoying the way the hair curled around my fingers. I could have sworn he purred. Did wolves purr? His hands were busy around my hips, gripping and pulling me closer.

Needing more, he trailed kisses down my neck and kissed behind my ear. I hummed in approval, but he never increased the speed. It was nice and slow. He took his time to savor each moment. Reluctantly, he pulled away from me, looking into my eyes.

“Tristan, I—” I started.

“I know. I think we should figure out what you want before more bonding happens.”

“But—”

“You need to heal, too. I don’t want to get too rough when you need to spend all your energy on feeling better. Especially with the ankle.”

I groaned and kissed him again.

He returned the kiss and then backed away a bit. “That isn’t going to change my mind.”

I sighed and pulled my arms away. I rested my head against his chest frustrated with his response.

Though the kiss had been a nice slow connection, I wanted Tristan.

I wanted him to wash away my feelings from today, give me something else to focus on, but he seemed convinced it was a bad idea.

Not to mention, technically, I was still a virgin who'd never been touched. I’d waited for him all this time, and he was right there.

Right in front of me. We were in the perfect place at the perfect time. Why was he still telling me no?

I tried to pull away, and the movement jarred my side. I flinched, and Tristan helped me get situated again.

“That’s why I said no.”

“I get it. Doesn’t change the fact I want you,” I admitted.

He stayed quiet for a while, then he spoke. “I can ease your need in a different way. But you can’t move about or cause yourself more pain.”

“Ease me? What does that even mean?”

“I can use my mouth to please you.”

I groaned. “Tristan, don’t tease me.”

“I’m not. You’re my mate, and your pleasure means so much to me. I thought I said that. Hell, I thought I’d showed you repeatedly in our dreams. Allow me to do this for you.”

I don’t know what it was about the way he said it, but it made me feel wanted and like the luckiest woman in the world. Not because he’d made the offer. It was the sincerity I felt from him when he said it, and I couldn’t turn down his suggestion.

I nodded, and he stood. The glow in his eyes made me hesitant about what I’d just signed up for.

He pulled the blanket away, exposing me to his perusal.

I wanted to cover myself, but I knew it was pointless.

He propped up my sore leg, exposing me to him, and giving him access to my sweetness.

He put my other leg on his pillow he’d moved down to match the other pillow.

He sniffed my pussy, his eyes glowed golden, and he groaned deeply. “Oh, Drahomíra…”

Tristan slid his tongue down the outside of my lips tasting my skin.

I inhaled in disbelief. He was tasting me; this was actually happening.

He licked down the other side, and I moaned.

His tongue was just beginning, and I was already under his spell.

He started again, and I whimpered, feeling the burn setting in.

He nipped the top of my mound, and I bucked against him.

He licked my lips again, making the throb begin low in my groin and spread like wildfire.

The need to fill me with his shaft was overwhelming.

Why couldn’t we again? I fisted the sheets in frustration.

I didn’t want him to stop. I needed more. Just… more.
